Occupy DC Plans Mayhem for Major Conservative Conference
The “Occupy DC” protest group is planning to disrupt the upcoming Conservative Political Action Conference using a range of potentially illegal tactics that could even include violence against participants, Scribe has learned.The planned disruptions at CPAC come only days after U.S. Park Police raided Occupiers’ tent cities at McPherson Square and Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., confiscating a number of tents, and prohibiting Occupiers from camping out there any longer.
During a Thursday meeting at McPherson Square, until Saturday the epicenter of the protests, Occupiers brainstormed tactics for shutting down or disrupting the conference, according to a source who was present at the meeting.
The protesters suggested pulling fire alarms in the hotel where the conference will take place, screaming “fire” during conference activities, “glitter-bombing” participants, cutting electrical power, and barricading entrances to the hotel, according to the source, who requested anonymity.
“Speakers will be physically assaulted, not just verbally confronted,” the source told Scribe in an email. Two Occupiers, who the source also identified as members of the New Black Panther Party, “said they would be disappointed if they didn’t get arrested and planned to ‘make it count.’”
The source quoted another protester as saying, “Mitt [Romney] has Secret Service now, but [Newt] Gingrich and [Andrew] Breitbart don’t,” seemingly suggesting that the latter two would not be as heavily guarded.
This story may be total bullshit but I think they just guaranteed a sell-out crowd at CPAC.

The primary tactic is not to allow any dissent. Shut them up. Call them names. Dehumanize. When that is accomplished threaten to beat the crap out of them. How is this not Fascist?

If your purpose was to win over hearts and minds and make a real movement to change things, you’d never use the tactics they’ve been using in Oakland. What does that tell us kids?
Bring it ! I’d pay to see Andrew Breitbart approach them with his swagger and “let’s have a talk” in that concerned fatherly way.
Oh well, OWS made noises about the Super Bowl too and that was a major fail.
They’re clearly just thoughtless puppets of the group currently in power. If they were progressive, they would protest one of the most conservative, completely owned by wall street, president we’ve ever had who has already ended habeas corpus. Instead they protest the republican half of congress and republicans in general and only do lip service to protesting the real power center.
It’s pretty clear by their actions the only purpose they serve is to protect and help their president. Which is fine I guess. Whatever. But let’s not pretend it’s otherwise.
And “glitter-bombing”? Really? Rah, rah, rah, we’re little babies who don’t like Republican politicians and Republican supporting businessmen. But Bush III, who’s worse than Bush II, eh, he’s fine. {{bangs head on desk}}
Any persons who would use these methods on a conference would lose my respect and good will. Cutting electricity and pulling fire alarms and so forth? Sounds almost Black Bloc to me. Maybe
OWSers should work on swift and effective containment of Black Bloccers in their midst wherever those Blac Bloccers emerge from cover.
OWS may well delaminate into groups which do this sort of thing and those which don’t like it and don’t do it. Those who don’t will just have to hope they don’t get identified with those who do.

It was too late a couple of weeks into it when the shit hit the car as it were. And then the many rapes and gang rapes weren’t quite the right message IMO. But who knows, maybe that is exactly the message they wanted.
