Because shut-up is why!

MSNBO:

HALL: So there you have it Tim. And the point is, he’s doing local television—that’s a local reporter asking something that is important to the people of that particular state. His response, you know, people are raising an eyebrow about.

CARNEY: Okay, well, I’ll talk about the marijuana in one second. But what you’re doing here is a typical media trick: You hype up a story, and then you justify the second-day coverage of the story by saying, “Oh, well, people are talking about it. Here’s how Romney responded to it—“

HALL: You don’t have to answer a single question I ask you. You do not. And you did not have to accept the invitation to come on. You knew what we were going to be discussing. [Unclear]

CARNEY: [Unclear]

HALL: Hang on, Tim. You’re kind of in my house here. The problem is this: The story’s out there, and you’re right—I am not saying that we should belabor what happened 50 years ago. We are talking about the response by the campaign and the governor, not just on this issue, but—

CARNEY: You are bringing up a meta story here, which is, “What is the Romney response to this other non-story?” I’m trying to go meta-meta on you, and say here’s some media treatment—

HALL: You don’t want me to go anything on you, because you are actually irritating me right now. I’m going to be honest with you—yes, you are, because you knew the questions and topics we were going to discuss. You knew them; you agreed. And we are not talking or demeaning—listen, 50 years ago, I was a much tougher kid probably than Mitt Romney was in high school. I’m not talking about the issue of whether he was bullying or not. He says he doesn’t remember; to be fair, I cannot say he does. What I am asking about is how the campaign has handled this situation, how he handled the Colorado reporter, how he handled same-sex marriage where he said he agrees with gay parents be able to adopt, but he does not agree with same-sex marriage? Just the handling of questions beyond the economy. If you’re not comfortable talking about that, I am a-okay, but you’re not going to come on and insult me, you’re not going to come on and insult the network when you knew what you were going to come on and talk about. Done. Now, let me talk to Jimmy, I’m done.

CARNEY: Are you going to cut me off?

HALL: Yes, I am.

And she did.

Tim Carney was invited on the show to defend Mitt Romney. When he tried to do that he was cut off. Not because he rambled on too long or was being disruptive but because he wouldn’t say what she wanted him to say.

All hail the glory of Obama!

BTW – How long before some race-baiter claims that Romney is only running because he’s a racist?

  1. …listen, 50 years ago, I was a much tougher kid probably than Mitt Romney was in high school…

lol ok. so the difference between mitt romney and tamron hall is that tamron hall still acts like she’s in high school.

  2. This voter is still wondering … who is Barack Obama?

  3. mothers day political ad

  4. Tameron Hall seems to be a very unprofessional reporter and not very good at her job. What did the viewers learn from this other than she has the manners of a goat?. What information was made public???

  5. You’re a guest in my house.

Exactly the point lady, you are supposed to treat your guests in your house with respect. At least that is how it used to be.

Plus, you’re 41 so if you were “tougher” than Romney 50 years ago, that’s some pretty scary evolution you got going on.

Also, saying you don’t want to belabor something while belaboring it belies your veracity as well your intelligence.

But thanks for reminding me why I don’t watch MSNBC.

  6. Oh, this is gonna be fun! CIA vs MI6. Better than the Avengers. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/may/11/underwear-bomb-plot-mi6-cia-leaks

  7. You’ll never guess who she is dating….Lawrence O’Donnell. And when seeing this display I couldn’t help but be reminded of his recent display.

The smug superiority of O’Donnell’s personal life was almost getting in the way of his point that Bringham Young was a racist.

It’s the last few seconds are the worst but the whole thing was painful to watch. And that eyebrow was clearly scolding anyone who didn’t think it was the most awesome segment on racism and religion evah.

    • Here is a better video. You can chose what part of the smug report to watch.

    • So, when does Crazy Larry re-write Harry Reid, another Mormon?

O’Donnell had to apologize a few weeks back because he went super batshit crazy over Mormonism one night.

  8. MSNBC used to have Andrew Breitbart on in order to ambush him about James O’Keefe. Breitbart would “go meta” on them, and talk about all the factual errors and outright lies in their previous stories. MSNBC now just switches off microphones, the last refuge of the bully broadcaster. Remember when the “liberal” media used to make fun of Bill O’Reilly for cutting people off?

Sarah Palin was derided multiple times a week by Lardball, usually under the guise of wondering why she wouldn’t go away. A spokesperson pointed out that Hardball producers ask her to be on their show constantly. I guess they would still cover her. That’s why it’s especially funny that Hall talks about “my house” and how he is supposed to be grateful to be invited on a show that has a viewership smaller than QVC.

I also see that the youtube videos of this cite how she “smacked down” Carney. Apparently, smackdown now means telling someone they don’t have to answer a question and then removing their ability to answer any question. I guess that means ROmney was only giving a smackdown haircut.

  9. Fucking Giants.

  10. Obama 2008 v. Obama 2012 re: distractions, except the things he called “distractions” were actually valid questions.

    • ” Yes, we know what’s coming. … The same efforts to distract us from the issues that affect our lives by pouncing on every gaffe and association and fake controversy in the hope that the media will play along.”

  11. The New Yorker claims Mitt has no empathy since he isn’t showing remorse for that vicious high school attack. The comments section seems full of DNC talking points. Wow, I had no idea Romney was such a monster /sarc.
