Today is the second-biggest day of the year for pro football fans. Four teams will play today. The two winners will meet in the Super Bowl. In the end there can be only one champion.
The early game will be the SF Niners at Atlanta Falcons. The late game will feature the Baltimore Ravens at the New England Patriots.
Network execs are hoping for a Niner-Patriots Super Bowl because that should get the maximum ratings. A Ravens-Falcons Super Bowl would suck (unless you’re a Ravens or a Falcons fan).
This is an open thread.

Go Pats!
Niners-Pats…all in.
Those of you in California
Hey kids, it’s a photo-palooza of the kids concert last night with our “rawking” Flotus
I go right to the UK’s Daily Mail …..

Obama takes his first oath today at noon. Tomorrow’s the big public event with about a million LESS people expected than ’09. Is the magic wearing off ?
lolololol
Perfecto LOL!
And in other parts of the world that aren’t about the Obamas ….

Nothing to see here, just pesky “militants” …
You can always tell around here when the Pats are involved in a playoff game. All of the meat and deli counters at the grocery stores are stocked with meat, shrimp, and cheese platters. The produce department in filled with veggie trays and fruit bowls. Every cupcake in the bakery has red, white, and blue frosting. If you want a pot roast, you’re out of luck.
as a 49er fan Im hoping for a PAT roast.
The Niners have never lost a Super Bowl. The Pats have lost a bunch of them.
Ellie and I are looking forward to the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. She goes crazy watching the dogs. She’ll stop whatever she’s doing and sit in front of the TV whenever the Travelers Insurance commercial with the dogs and the umbrellas comes on. She likes it when there are horses on TV, too. There were horses on the farm where she was born.
For Ellie:
She loves it!
Veggie trays?
That is so wrong!
Joe Hairplug:
astounding….what a complete, unadulterated moron…only a heartbeat away from another one….
Like two morons in a pod.
Let the “feminists” step in it or eat it–their choice.
The professional feminists have lost a lot of credibility in my book the past five years.
Yep, they are Obamists now.
They have no creds anymore, it’s best just to ignore them.
Yet the professional feminists ignore this guy …..

awesome ! Thank you ! Denise
Talk about gullible. Michelle may play Lady Bountiful, The Humble Homemaker, but behind closed doors she’s the power behind the empty chair. Without MO & Valjar choreographing his every move, I suspect the lazy-ass community organizer would still be on the street.
Michelle was never vetted either. We just got fed a lot of mush about her giving up her professional career for her country and all that I’m A Mom First bullsh*t.
Her mom raised the girls while MO was bored with everything she tried to accomplish …. a law career, patient dumping, hmmm, hmmm, hmmm.
We got an initial glimpse of the real Michelle during the 08 primaries, but Axelrod swooped in & whisked her away so fast it made her wighat spin. Then, the total makeover of the facade.
Barry & Michelle. What a pair of self-centered, greedy phonies. I wonder how many minutes they can actually stay civil to one another in private. Oh to be a fly on the wall.
How popular would MO be if she got the same treatment Hillary got as FLOTUS?
Honk!
Ah….the man behind the curtain becomes visible and it is, indeed, Kansas after all!!!
Well, some might argue that today is actually the “biggest” day for many NFL fans as the final playoff games are frequently better than the often, over-hyped Super Bowl games.
Still, for me, college basketball rules…yesterday had some amazing games….Syracuse/Louisville, Ohio State/Michigan State, Creighton/Wichita State, Wyoming/San Diego State…and the best of all Gonzaga/Butler….a truly astounding game….something for everyone in every part of the country.
And, with all due respect, the NFL playoffs may be the best…but you gotta love March madness and bracketology!!!
We’ll watch today for some good football, then we’ll watch the Super Bowl for the commercials.
I do love March Madness for the underdogs knocking out top seeds in the early rounds.
There was a long stretch in the late 70′s thru the mid-90′s where the SB games tended to be blow-outs. Since then there has been more close games – several that were a thrill to the finish.
Real nail biters.
