I tried…this is ridiculous to watch….the invasion of the body snappers has begun…after this second hearing, the hounds of retribution will be unleashed with full force…get ready….I’d suggest that if you really want to see what the next 4 years has in store for us, tune in to MSNBC, CNN or NBC tonight and watch their reaction to all of this…that will be the official laying on of the party line…nice and thick tonight…sad and disgusting. I’m sorry but Hillary may have her shit together and all that but this is really disgusting and hard to take. I watched all of Watergate and the 9/11/Iraq invasion but this is the pits….to think that an American ambassador was killed, after just “supposedly” meeting with an emissary from Turkey, and weapons and perpetrators from Benghazi supposedly showing up in Algeria and not one word from any of the survivors…..and this is what we get!!!! wowser….

9:42 p.m. — Armed men begin their assault on the U.S. Consulate.
9:59 p.m. — A surveillance drone is directed to fly over the U.S. compound, but it is unarmed.
(3 & 1/2 hours later)
1:30 a.m. — A six-man security team from the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli arrives in Benghazi. (including Glen Doherty)
(7+ hours after attack on consulate)
5:15 a.m. — Attackers launch assault on a second U.S. facility (CIA annex) in Benghazi. Two former U.S. Navy SEALs acting as security contractors are killed. They are identified as Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.
Seven plus hours and and our response was to send in a small security team. Pathetic response from those in the Situation Room.
If Ambassador Stevens was meeting with the Turkish diplomat as part of the CIA’s program to ship arms from Libya to Turkey for fighters in Syria then why wouldn’t the CIA and DOD have covert security in the immediate area prepared to defend the so called “consulate” and CIA annex. Were arms stored in the annex or was it used to interrogate prisoners? WTF was going on in Benghazi?
I just listened to Hillary Clinton say no requests for additional security never came to her attention. WHY NOT???
I have had to gather information from different depts for the morning meetings with the general manager of railroads. GOD HELP the one who did not have proper info to tell the GM what was going on.

One survivor was identified as early as 4 Oct 2012 by NBC news
“The father of an American bodyguard injured in the deadly attack on the U.S. mission in Libyan city of Benghazi said Wednesday the State Department should own up to what he said were its mistakes and release more information about what occurred.
David Ubben, a 31-year-old State Department employee, suffered broken bones and other injuries in the Sept. 11 attack that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans. David Ubben is having a series of surgeries and his father expects him to be hospitalized for several months.
Rex Ubben, 60, said he was a 24-year Air Force veteran who retired in 1995 as master sergeant. He was based at various U.S. embassies.
He said David Ubben described the violence on Sept. 11 as “obviously an attack and not a riot,” and sketched out what appeared to be a sophisticated mortar attack during the second wave of the assault. That took place at another compound where U.S. and Libyan personnel retreated, and resulted in the death of Doherty and Woods.
“What I wanted to know was whether the second part of the attack was pre-planned. The first (mortar) dropped 50 yards short and the next two were right on target,” he said, adding his son “was not conscious for any more.”
“This indicates to me that someone was either very, very good, highly trained and skilled, or that the mortar was already set up and pointed at the safe house and only minor adjustments were needed,” he said.”

A key takeaway learning for US Ambassadors should be that if they have a concern about the security of their personnel and facilities they need to contact the SOS personally and directly. You just can’t count on the Lambs back in the bureaucracy in DC to look out for you and your personnel’s safety.
To be fair, she did answer. It is against the law to fire them and reassignment was their only option. She answered that at the Senate hearings and touched on it again at the House hearings. The employees actions didn’t rise to the level required to let them go. And that Hillary recommended legislation to the committee in order to resolve that issue within the federal govt.
Thanks, didn’t watch long enough to hear that, but it does make me feel somewhat better about her answer.

I didn’t see the whole thing either but that was one part I did catch in both hearings. It was nice to finally know the real answer since the media was painting the issue as if State was protecting them rather than choosing to dismiss them. Which was a concern of mine as well.
Anyway, in the House hearings she seemed more irritated with the question and concerned about violating the employees’ privacy rights by answering in more detail. So without seeing the Senate answer, Hillary’s House hearings response seemed even more incomplete.

It was something about how the ARB classified their negligence that didn’t rise to the level required to fire them. The Senate hearing is where she used the specific terms, can’t remember them now, sorry.
But it is something we’ve all known for decades. As long as you show up, it’s almost impossible to get fired from a govt job.
And somehow I doubt the committee/Congree will make it easier to fire govt employees even after this attack.
Who knew the Dem superdelegates had such admiration for HRC. She could have used their accolades and support back in 2008 when it would have counted.

I’d like to ask Hillary why for so many hours the only public communication regarding the demonstration in Cairo from the US government was from the lone tweeter State Department US Embassy employee in Cairo blaming the demonstrations on the infamous video.
Neither the POTUS or the SOS communicated with the public for hours as the events unfolded. Since when does the US government use tweets from a lowly staffer speak for the government?
When Romney remarked on the situation about 5 hours later he was pilloried for speaking publicly when a US citizen had died in Benghazi. I was at a rally in Fairfax, VA a week later where when Romney called for a minute of silence for those who died in Benghazi, someone planted in the audience shouted out, “why do you want to politicize Benghazi?”
