        They had standards? I actually only watched it twice. A local young man who attended high school with my daughter auditioned. We never got to see him on air. I sat through a couple of the most horrendous hours of horrible lack of talent ever. Turned me off forever. Bad music performed by people with no talent is for me just like listening to teh fraud read from TOTUS.
        I have to turn it off.

    I quit watching American Idol when we got our American Idol president. I really think the bullying, the mockery as entertainment, is wrong. There is something sick about a culture that gets off on ridiculing some 19 yr old kid who thinks they can sing….just for entertainment. Let’s tear people down for fun just because it makes us all feel superior and smug. This whole attitude carried over into politics when we installed our American Idol president with a bunch of Obots who really get off on mockery and ridicule rather than solving problems. Their goal is to tear down and destroy the opposition, rather than to make the world a better place.

    I’ve had enough of this kind of behavior. It kind of reminds me of a Roman Coliseum, where the people are kept entertained, always with the threat that it could be them if they step out of line.
