They already got the message

Bloomberg:

White House strategist David Plouffe says all President Barack Obama’s messages should be directed to a middle-aged, white woman in Ohio.

I’m pretty sure all the middle-aged white women in Ohio already got the message from Obama and his followers. Here’s Jean Louise:

I’m a middle-aged, white woman in Ohio and I’ve gotten the message. It’s “Fuck you!”

BTW – Ohio voted for Hillary in 2008.

Back at ya, Barack!

That was really painful to watch. It makes me wonder again if BO has early-onset dementia.

      • That was painful. And very interesting. You get gaffs from Sarah and they’re blow all out of proportion, and then similar gaffs from teh precious, and the meme that he’s a genius and elegant and smooth never wears off.

What a total inexperienced, incompetent, bumbling fool he is. And it’s so obvious and clear. And has been since he came on the stage. I mean, go back and watch some of those primary debates if you want to see painful.

      • Can you smell the fear when those talking heads say how stupid Sarah is? You can tell they’re scared shitless. Very fascinating.

The fear is apparent. I’ve stopped wondering why, their entire livelihoods must depend on that narrative. It is still fascinating.

I think it’s because so many Democratic Women still feel pissed at the way the DNC treated Secretary Clinton that this administration knows that if the Republicans nominate a woman many Dem woman will cross party lines and vote for the Republican candidate.

    Al Jazeera:

Missing Iraq cash ‘as high as $18bn’

Osama al-Nujaifi, the Iraqi parliament speaker, has told Al Jazeera that the amount of Iraqi money unaccounted for by the US is $18.7bn – three times more than the reported $6.6bn.

Just before departing for a visit to the US, al-Nujaifi said that he has received a report this week based on information from US and Iraqi auditors that the amount of money withdrawn from a fund from Iraqi oil proceeds, but unaccounted for, is much more than the $6.6bn reported missing last week.

A bit OT, but this article makes clear a point about how poverty can make junk food the practical choice.

one of the problems with the American diet: unhealthy food is often a lot cheaper than healthy food.

One dollar’s worth of Coke has 447 calories, while $1 of iceberg lettuce has just 16.5. To look at it another way, you would have to spend about $5 to buy 2,000 calories at McDonald’s, $19 to buy 2,000 calories worth of canned tuna and $60 to buy 2,000 calories worth of lettuce.

I remember being poor in HS & college and subsisting on a coke & a cookie as my main meal.

    • Coke and a reese’s cup, the meal of champions.

The $.99 menu at Jack-in-the-Box is the lunch and dinner of law students.

2 tacos and a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger – $2.13 including tax.

    • The other trick, make friends with wait staff at restaurants that bake. Free or nearly free bread in the evening. Sometimes even real food too.

    • 1539days says:

I understand what they’re saying, but water is 0 calories and that costs more than gas in some cases.

My gripe is that healthy, low-cal and low-fat food that tastes good usually requires a lot of preparation. So you can get cheap and fast, but not good or good and fast but not cheap or cheap and good but not fast. Most go for cheap and fast.

Popcorn and a small OJ from the vending machine. Of course, there was also an ED involved. But those were also the days of putting 60 cents worth of gas into the car to get home.

“all President Barack Obama’s messages should be directed to a middle-aged, white woman in Ohio.”

That is going to take some skillful acting and playwrighting since they hate every one of their guts. Since this is essentially the demographic of who his mother and grandmother were what is Obama going to do wheedle them for cigarette money?

  5. Three Wickets says:

There are already Obama “leaning” sockpuppets on facebook posing to the exact specs Plouffe describes. And believe me, I’m usually the last one to sense these things. But some things are pretty obvious. 🙂

    • jjmtacoma says:

Sockpuppets are so irritating, they mess up thread with those weird, “gee I know just how you feel, I used to feel… ”

‘cuz ya know, women only ever “feel” we don’t actually *think* so logic is not required.
