Raw Story:
Report: Sarah Palin quits bus tour halfway through, retreats to Alaska
Amid diminishing media interest, Sarah Palin has quit her high-profile bus tour halfway through and returned to Alaska with her family, according to RealClearPolitics.
The move puts a damper on widespread speculations that Palin’s “One Nation” bus tour, which launched on Memorial Day, was a precursor to a potential White House bid for 2012. Palin never made it to her scheduled stops in the key primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire.
RealClearPolitics, which originally broke the story about the bus tour, reported Wednesday on Palin’s “extended hiatus.” The remaining legs of her trip, according to Scott Conroy, are “in limbo” as “Palin and her family have reverted to the friendly confines of summertime Alaska.”
Gee, Sarah didn’t want to spend the entire summer trapped in her tour bus while being chased by the paparazzi media. But summer has barely started and she could easily return to the road one or more times before Labor Day.
Sarah tweets:
Her career has been declared dead more times than Jason Voorhees but the PDS brigades keep doing their premature victory dances.
UPDATE (h/t votermom):
*Sigh* Reports of Tour Demise Are Greatly Exaggerated
by Sarah Palin on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 4:14pm
Imagine our surprise when reading media reports today that the “One Nation Tour” has been cancelled. Why didn’t anyone tell me? Oh, wait, that’s because it hasn’t been cancelled. (Good ol’ media… you never cease to amaze!)As I said myself at the end of the east coast leg of the tour, the summer is long, and I’m looking forward to hitting the open road again. The coming weeks are tight because civic duty calls (like most everyone else, even former governors get called up for jury duty) and I look forward to doing my part just like every other Alaskan.
I wouldn’t think it to be such a slow news day that, what with numerous wars and serious economic woes concerning Americans, a bus is driving news stories today. The next leg of the tour continues when the time comes. In the meantime, no one should jump to conclusions – certainly not the media with their long track record of getting things wrong or just making things up.
– Sarah Palin
It was really mean of Sarah to spoil their Mission Accomplished moment.
😀
Oh, she facebooked too.

LOL! See my post below. The ordinary conventional pol would have made a prior announcement, so the press wouldn’t speculate. Sarah, I think, ENJOYS just doing as she damn well pleases, waiting for the press to hyperventilate, and then raising a facebook eyebrow and telling them to calm down.
It makes them look so childish.
I also like doing what I damn well please, when I want to do it. She should enjoy making those asshats look like what they are. They’ve earned it. 🙂
I think she enjoys seeing media heads explode, and I hope she keeps doing it.
She and Todd were sitting up late one night in their old comfy sweats, having a nice bottle of wine and shooting the shit, and Todd says offhand-like, “Think we should fuck with their heads?” Sarah laughs and says “Like what?” He says, “I dunno, what would jerk their chain and make them dance like puppets scrambling to find an explanation…..?”
Sarah thinks a minute, then almost spews her wine as an idea occurs to her: “Oooo, oooo, I know! Let’s stop the bus for a month or two and come back to Alaska to relax and do some fishing. With no warning or explanation!” Todd starts grinning, “Oooooo, that’s a good one…”
😀
Once again, the Buffoon Juicers set the standard for misogyny:
If Palin didn’t have self control, they’d be looking forward to an ass-whupping in about an hour.
Some “diminishing media interest.” Just two days ago, Palin was trying to steal the thunder from Huntsman’s presidential announcement. Now, she’s irrelevant. It’s enough to give you whiplash.
It will be so much fun when she enters the race.
djmm
It is 105 degrees outside right now at 6:40 pm
I am in hell
That must wreak havoc on face paint.
One way to keep cool that someone I know did last yesterday: Go to a Motel 6, stay in the pool all day and enjoy the air-conditioned room all night!
Another way to keep cool is beer.
Lots of beer.
I prefer a chilly Margarita! But any gal with English ancestors won’t turn down a beer…
What happened? It’s only 81 here. I feel like I’m in paradise.
Just when you thought they couldn’t be more stupid.
Damn Garbage is good. Had forgotten about them.
If I was Vice President, know what I’d do? Pretty much anything I wanted to!
“Play golf all day with heads of state, if they brought beer wouldn’t that be great?”
This one is for Moose:
This is the Clinton theme song:
When you see the reactions from fauxgressives and the media, either Sarah is Ulysses or perhaps to them, she’s a bad acid trip. Hence:
The video is much more entertaining than the song.
I have a fantasy where Hillary walks out to accept the Democratic nomination to this tune:
That would be something.
Heh, finally caught Whitey.

Racist!
Uh-oh, Captain Kirk
Noooooo. Now my dreams for the future have been dashed. Damn you Popsci.
Any thoughts on “Gun Walker”. Is it a real scandal?
Good question. It sure looks like a real scandal. Maybe about to get the head of the ATF anyway.

Hillary-A Nation Turns Its Lonely Eyes To You

The button shown – funny Hillary pic with the words “I Told You So – Hillary 2012” made me crack up.
The post is pretty good, saying she should do a primary challenge. I wish.
Should Hillary come to that decision the Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermanns of the print and broadcast media will on orders from their corporate masters start to savage her again.
Without a doubt.
Oh, great. Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone on TV today, opining that one reason he’d like Michelle Bachmann to win the nomination is because they’d make great porn films about her.
I shit you not.
He’s such a jackass. Picked up all the best misogyny tricks during his ten years doing bullshit tabloid journalism in Moscow, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia.
Disgusting toad. Any chance of getting the show that had him on censured for indecency during daytime tv? Or are they protected because it’s a cable channel?
HONK!
It was the Don Imus show
One of my cats got mauled to death by a dog last night. What a lovely way to start the day.
That’s awful. 😦
WTH kind of wild dogs are in your neighborhood?
I found her in a neighbor’s front yard but I don’t think that’s where she was mauled. She may have been attacked in someone’s back yard.
Sorry to hear that. Coyote got one of our rabbits last year. Cycle of nature, or something. It’s hard.
Trap the dog. Skin ’em. And cook ’em up. That will teach him.
What? Too far? I can never tell.
Dogs are good eatin. Taste like goat. Which taste like lamb.
The other, other, other white meat.
So sorry, hon. 😦 I have 2 greyhounds who will go after squirrels/cats/possums in my backyard – it’s the nature of the breed But knowing that, I walk outside BEFORE I let them out, scan the yard, clap loudly, etc to scare off any critters. Then I let them out. They did get a squirrel once, but I try to not let it happen.
Oddly, they are completely fine with my indoor cat – he rules the roost. He can run around like a maniac doing “cat crazy zoomies”, and they ignore him, and they back away if he even bats a paw at them.. But something small and fuzzy running across the yard or along the fence OUTDOORS triggers chase instincts.
Sorry to hear. That completely sucks of course.
Ugh…..so sorry about your cat. That is a horrible way to lose one.
Ugh….sorry about your cat. That is a horrible way to lose one.
We lost one like that thanks to a neighbor who would neglect and ignore her dogs. She had to get rid of three dogs in two groups. All aggressive biters who would escape her yard and terrorize people and cats.
Very sad news. Sorry to hear it.
Thank you to everyone who expressed your sympathy and support.
Its my cat thats a danger to any dog who might happen to venture into the yard. He’s a cougar in a kitty’s body. I’ve been bloodied more than once by him.
I gotta add that its not only the media touting the palin retreat to Alaska. I’ve seen the meme mimiced across more than one blog.
Man, with all the other shit they should be talkin about…..
Tweety was on Bill Maher the other week all tingly about Bachmann. Forgot who pointed this trend out of the msm getting all excited about her over Palin. But saw this and found it interesting that Maher was going with the old play book and Tweety rolls with the new one.
http://www.rawstory.com/rawreplay/2011/06/bill-maher-michele-bachmann-is-a-crazy-girl-with-mean-ideas/
A few months ago I noticed that the media suddenly started to treat Bachmann differently – as a serious contender rather than a kook.
It seemed to me they were building her up as the alternate vagina-candidate to Sarah Palin (because you can only have one vagina-candidate at a time)
I figured they were building her up so they could tear her down after Sarah was defeated.
I thought it was either you or Votermom. And sure enough, there is Tweety living up to your observation. The whole table took a double take.
It’s like that cell phone commercial about going on 4G so you’re not the last to know. Maher had better upgrade so he gets the new corporate imperatives quicker.
Ouch…
“U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is questioning the priorities of lawmakers criticizing the U.S. intervention in Libya.
She’s asking bluntly, “Whose side are you on?” ”
http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/africa/06/23/libya.war/
Oops my bad…I quoted a different article…but linked this one which had more info.
I’m on the side of the War Powers Act, which I believe is the law of the land. Whose side is she on?
I’m pretty sure Congress would give Obama the thumbs up on Libya – he just doesn’t want to ask them for approval.
He probably thinks it would be a bad precedent.
The Senate is a definite Yea, but I’m not sure about the House. They look like they are going to try and cut off funds for it. I wish them luck.
By the way, even Bush got Congressional approval for his actions. Obama is attempting to set a new precedent by not asking.
I completely agree about Congressional approval. But the cynic in me has watched Congress release their power to the Executive time and again, and wonder if this is just the same. And I doubt TPTB want Libya shut down.
However, this is the sharpest elbow thrown in this whole thing. And just prior to her testifying in front of Congress. It would seem she wants the debate too.
Palin corrects them but instead of taking their lumps they dish out a few more and use the Big Dawg as an example.
