Jack and Jill went up the hill and lost their minds

Somebody is smoking more hopium and enjoying it less:

MoveOn.org needs to move the hell out of the way

A recent story in The American Spectator brings attention to the fact that the MoveOn crew is now threatening a boycott of President Obama’s re-election. The reason for the threat is as follows:

Dear MoveOn member,
News just broke that President Obama is offering to cut Social Security as part of the debt deal they’re working out in Washington right now. And reports say he’s stopped pushing to eliminate the Bush tax cuts for millionaires in these negotiations.
If both these things are true, it’s an absolute outrage. When asked, 75% of MoveOn members said that if a deal like this were to go through, they’d be less likely to donate to or volunteer for President Obama’s re-election campaign. . . .
Here’s the text to copy into your Facebook status when you share this graphic: “If Barack Obama cuts Social Security to pay for the Bush tax cuts for millionaires, I won’t ever give his campaign another dime. Repost and reshare this image if you agree.” . . .

[…]

It’s perfectly OK for disgruntled Democrats and liberals, many of whom (like MoveOn) vigorously supported Obama in ’08, to scream, shout, and call Obama names in frustration if they feel that pissed off. It’s perfectly OK to vocally – and publicly – draw attention to where we believe the president has fallen short, or even fucked up totally. It is madness, however, for MoveOn to risk the possibility of inflicting the certifiable insanity of a Sarah-Palin-on-steroids Michelle Bachmann on the rest of us who also live in this country because they want to make a point. You wanna make a point, MoveOn? Fine. Put your own ass at risk. Leave mine alone. See my point?

MoveOn has been ticked off at Obama for awhile, and it’s not like I haven’t noticed, but this shit is straight up looney tunes crazy and they need to be called out on this one. Loud. Right now I’m thinkin MoveOn needs to take some advice from their own name and do exactly that.

Three years ago is was “Obama is the one.” Now all they have left is “The Republicans are worse!

They shoved him down our throats, and now they demand everyone else keep supporting him because THEY want him reelected.

Put your own ass at risk. Leave mine alone.

Gee, I wish they would have thought of that three years ago.

One might observe that those who aid the ruling class in their games of deception are an exceedingly useful adjunct to that ruling class. It’s so helpful to keep those people who might otherwise consider a very different course of action distracted, weak and thus firmly in line. One might even say that those “leading bloggers” who repeatedly behave in this manner are only doing the ruling class’s bidding. It would appear they are happy to do so. They certainly lead lives of considerable comfort, unlike so many other Americans. One might begin to suspect that certain bloggers are themselves members of the elite (pipsqueak division) they purport to criticize so severely. (I suppose one might call that something like “The Fatal Illusion of Opposition.”)

One might make such observations. I, of course, could not possibly comment.

P.S. And does anyone doubt that Atrios, et al. will support and vote for Obama and Democrats generally next year? We may be assured that they will. And you should, too, because the Republicans are crazy!

That’s a cue:

I always especially enjoy that argument from liberals and progressives. “Oh, the Democrats might be doing most of the same things, well, practically all the same things, and maybe some of the things Obama’s doing are even worse … but the Republicans are crazy!”

Yeah, I see how that works. Obama and the Democrats do all this — and they’re entirely sane. They know exactly what they’re doing, why, and even what the effects will be.

This, we are repeatedly assured, is a notable improvement, for which we should be properly grateful.

It would appear that certain people prefer their pillaging, rapacious, murdering, torturing leaders to exhibit full self-awareness and to be completely in control of themselves at all times. No insanity defense for them!

This would be funny if it weren’t so goddamn serious.

I still think it’s funny, even though it’s serious. The frantic, terrified little Obot is making me laugh my ass off.

Hey, whatever happened to “Fuck you, we don’t need you and neither does Obama! We are off to Change the world with our Hope, and will leave you un-hip losers in the dustbin of history with our permanent Democratic majorities! Yay us! The smart ones!

Help him out, you say? Nah, I think I’ll just stand here on reality shore and watch you guys go down with your big-assed greek-columned SS Pony ship right into that sea of shattered illusions. I plan to clip my nails while I watch you running around panicking and screaming for someone to help you with the lifeboats. I’m going to yawn and fiddle with my hair while you all run for the bow and figure out that there aren’t enough life jackets to go around. I’m going to giggle hysterically as you spot the big honkin’ icebergs that I told you were there before you ever boarded (and got called a cackling old menopausal has-been hag for my troubles). I’m going to pop my gum and stifle my guffaws when the icy water hits knee level, and you REALLY start badly wigging out and yelling that I HAVE to help, I HAVE to, I have to haveto haveto, havetooooooooo!!!!!

Know something fucksticks? No, I don’t have to. I don’t have to do a goddamned thing. As an old useless woman, I’ve raised 4 kids. I am immune to the the wide-eyed look of horror and pleading that dawns on a pissy little full-of-himself kid’s face when he realizes that he ain’t getting rescued from his own bad decision. Doesn’t faze me in the slightest.

Nobody owes you or your Plastic Jesus jack shit. You need to learn that lesson, Junior, and learn it well.

I lived through eight years of Bush. I can survive 4-8 more of whatever GOPer replaces him.

      Honkity honk honk honk!!!

Maybe after The One gets his ass kicked in the next election, these young Obots will engage in some self-reflection about how arrogant they were, how they destroyed the Democratic party in their smug namecalling of lifetime Dems, how they cut off their noses to spite their faces, how they “did” all this to themselves, and gain some wisdom.

Maybe. But I wouldn’t bet my last dollar on it.

      Great post!

Jesus, that’s some of the best stuff I’ve ever read, WMCB. You deserve a Pulitizer.

Oh, that is RICH, I tell you. RIIICCCCHHHHHHH!

If anyone bears the responsibility for a “Palin on Steroids” at the helm, it is the Liberal wing of the media. Cheered on in their attacks on Hillary and Sarah, by the likes of Obats like him.

This little Obat twit ougghta give credit where credit is due. Thank yourself, FOOL!
