Question of the day:
What do you call someone who donates bunches of money to get Obama elected, then gets exclusive no-bid government contracts, then moves jobs to China, and then on top of that gets the job of recommending how the federal government should rewrite regulations, and then goes in front of other business owners and leaders and says this?
“The people who are part of the business sector, the people in this room, have got to stop complaining about government and get some action underway,” he told the group. “There’s no excuse today for lack of leadership. The truth is we all need to be part of the solution.”

I don’t mean to sound like such a Republican, but darn, the state just came here and shut down three businesses for being behind on their taxes. Locked their doors, sent all the employees home, and won’t allow them to reopen until the taxes are paid. Some of these business owners are irresponsible and taxes have to be paid, but how does this help anyone?? The Gov has just cost 75 jobs in my tiny community and now has no chance of getting any revenue at all.
Four other businesses have voluntarily retired because they’re simply sick and tired of all the audits and paperwork they’re being forced to go through. These are dinky little businesses forced to go through the regulation process that should be reserved for big corporations. Ironically, the really big guys are just given exemptions and tax waivers in order to attract them to our state.
I won’t even talk about what all the stimulus road work did to all our mom and pop stores. We created six temporary jobs and ran 7 shops out of business.
What can I say? Where I live it is government costing us jobs.
That’s flipping outrageous. That should go on national news, because it is so outrageous.
Btw, I agree that regulations need overhaul, but the fact that Immelt is in charge of recommending them is plain corruption. He’s not going to do anything that helps the country, only things that help

Hannity did a lot of shows on some government water shut down last year that was hurting farmers in CA & the only reason he found out about it was because the farmers there wrote to him. I’m sure they wrote to NBC, CBS, CNN too, but Hannity was the only one who picked it up. I’m sure it would be the same here.
I agree. If the Congress and the media won’t call out B0 and the government re: the true situation with jobs and the so-called stimulus, then we have to do it. I would consider Hannity, but first write to Greta Sustern–she is great with these kinds of things and I think her credibility is greater than Hannity.
Jeffrey Immelt whose NBC network probably helped Obama get elected is now reaping the rewards. As you say votermom, cruel irony that he heads up the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. He isn’t generating jobs here, and he’s the lead voice for Corporate America on engineering the tax holiday on repatriating multinational profits. As for cash they have on hand here, all the large multinationals are buying back stock these days, which is another way of transfering easy money from the Fed to the investor class. Working people are simply not part of this parlor game.

Obama reports more than $86 million in combined fundraising for campaign I bet most of this is coming from his creative class benefactors and not the grassroots.
About 98 percent of the donors gave $250 or less. Messina said the average donation was about $69.
As moononpluto noted in hi44, below $200 means the FEC doesn’t require them to report who the donor is.
I think this is money-laundering.
How much you want to bet that 99% of the below $200 donations came from those untraceable “visa gift cards” like last time too?

Well behind the 142 million he needs to raise each quarter to reach his billion dollar goal.
Yeah, but he is also claiming all of the DNC fundraising (over half that total) as “his”. Screw the rest of his party standing for re-election.
It still makes one wonder: Why does he need a billion to get-re-elected if he’s doing such a fabulous job? I don’t think money is going to be a big issue, myself. The GOP will have more than enough money to compete – doesn’t matter if it’s not quite as much as him. I think we’ve reached a point where people are so sick of his face and his voice that more over-exposure via ads, etc is only going to hurt him. The swing voters and Independents are going to decide this election. Even if he does great, hopeful, upbeat ads, and soaring speeches, those voters will only be painfully reminded of how similar he sounded in 2008, and how stupid they were to believe him.
Even being positive and hopey changey has a downside backlash for him now.
Does this administration take responsibility for anything? And what leaders says “do what I want or granny gets it” ?
