Now THERE’s your passive agressive. Or is it agressive-agressive?

    Somebody is purging again:

Note to commenters: The words Sarah, Palin and any combination thereof are trigger words that will get your comment relegated to the moderation bin. The comment will be released when I get around to determining whether or not you are pushing Palin on us.

    • WMCB says:

That’s just laughably sad. Good luck to RD with that motive-policing stuff. Because if your ideas cannot exist on their own, outside of a carefully constructed bubble that protects them from even mild challenge, they are pretty shitty and weak ideas.

    • elliesmom says:

Does she think that she can “disappear” Palin by not letting people comment about her on her blog? I sense a purge coming soon at TL, too. Too many people advocating for voting (R).

      • Mary says:

        Same at Digby’s.

Dig keeps trying the Repubs are “batshit crazy, revote O” meme in her posts, but comments are mostly “O is f*cking us, why should I vote him or the DNC.”

        It’s amazing to watch.

    • DeniseVB says:

Bill Maher would approve ? That’s my litmus test these days, tho I’m sure RD would disapprove of his message 😦

    • yttik says:

Call me crazy, but I believe in the free exchange of ideas. Billions were spent on brainwashing me into supporting a fraud in the last election and it didn’t work. I don’t fear the mere mention of She Who Shall Not Be Named, because I know nobody can be easily “pushed on me.”

I like Palin and it’s quite possible I’ll support her, but it won’t be because somebody painted her on a sparkly unicorn and named her The Light Bringer. I severed my ties with the party of propaganda a few years ago.

    • vivien2u says:

That’s RD’s choice. She’s not a Repulican, she doesn’t lean right. And she sure doesn’t have a problem telling people to get lost. She comes across as someone who would rather have no one commenting, than having a bunch of Repubicans take over her blog.

It’s a sad time for real Democrats right now. Our choices suck. That’s not going to make me vote Republican. It breaks my heart that Jim Webb isn’t running for re election. I don’t see any reason to even vote. Come on myiq, who would you vote for, Tim Kaine, or George Macacawitz?

      • WMCB says:

I agree that it’s her blog, and her choice. That’s why I don’t post there. But most of the people she ran off are by no stretch of the imagination right wingers. They were people who mostly agreed with her. And you do realize that the vast majority of the country is not extremely liberal? And that it’s a little difficult to convince anyone of anything if you refuse to even talk with them?

So unless the left plans on some sort of coup, or shoving through policies in the dead of night against the howls of the public, then they’d better stop retreating to their pure and rarified-aired intellectual redoubts, and figure out how to engage and convince.

Because relying on bullying, sneering, and “We are RIGHT, so fuck you clueless winger cretins” is getting them their asses kicked. And it can and will get worse.

        • vivien2u says:

Who is “them?” I thought them was us. Maybe I should have said that’s her choice and left it at that. I wasn’t calling you out. I never thought you were a Republican. I’ve always enjoy your comments, until now. I feel like i got my ass kicked. Sorry, I thought I nested under myiq.

        • WMCB says:

“Them” is the vocal left that I just described. I am a liberal and a centrist. I have never claimed to be a hard leftie, and I have no desire ever again to be associated with “the left” as they currently exist in this country. Too much hate and arrogance for me. And no, you didn’t call me specifically a Republican. But you did say she didn’t want Republicans taking over her blog, so I assumed you were referring to all those that were chased off.

I’m sorry if you felt your ass was kicked. I was speaking of the prevalent political strategy of the vocal left, including bloggers, and it’s blindingly evident drawbacks. I didn’t mean you personally.

        • vivien2u says:

I’m no leftie. I’ve got no use for the vocal left as you call them. I’m sure I can think of a few other names. Were they always like that? I never really saw it before the primaries in 2008. Maybe I was blind to it.

When you talk about leftie bloggers I’m thinking of Moulitsas, Huffington, and Sullivan. You know, the asshole Republicans that took over our party. I’ve never thought of RD as a leftie. I didn’t read much into what happened over there, I just knew many of you stopped posting over there. I stop by here every now and then, just to see what the klown has to say. I prefer to keep my 2 cents in my pocket, and if I do comment it’s just some smartass remark. Man, that klown is good at stiring the pot.

It’s a sad time for real Democrats right now. Our choices suck. That’s not going to make me vote Republican.

I find it sadder that people will not vote or vote the “lesser of two evils”. The Democratic Party screwed the voters and the party when the leadership and the rest of the superdelegates forced Obama on the voters. Many voted for him because voting for McCain was unacceptable. How did that work out? I think that voting for Obama destroys our current and future choices more than voting for a Republican in 2012.

      • insanelysane says:

Yes, who can we vote FOR ?

Do we even have Statesmen anymore?
        ( Stateswomen?)

Is there anyone we can aspire to ?
Please, name them if you can.

The only one that comes easily to mind is a gal
        with her initial H.
        Hermoine…er Hillary

but in all seriousness, do we still have statespersons?

        • vivien2u says:

We got nuttin. The only real choices we have are “paper or plastic.”

I was hoping the 0 would be shamed into not running again. I don’t see that happening, the man has no shame.

For the record I did not vote for the 0. I was under the bus with you guys. Maybe you did not see me because I was under the front left tire.

      • Pips says:

        I’m with you there, vivien.

And – fwiw – I always enjoy your comments. All of them. 🙂

When that delish pool boy quit serving cocktails…the place went south. The Klowns came in. It was wild but…
we can have just one ringmaster.

Love RD. She is whip smart and gives a good Jersey POV.
I can’t stay away. Waters run deep and where they meet…
      anyone knows.

      Good original thinking over there.

    • 1539days says:

RD seems to think that too many comments of a particular type will turn her place into one of THOSE blogs.. That was her problem with the SP posts. People who commented on those would comment on her posts and have a different opinion, which was the wrong opinion. I should talk. My opinions are all over the place and I have about a half dozen commenters.

    • Lola-at-Large says:

Eh, who cares what size her closet is? She wants to be in it, so let her. It’s her ability to have an actual effect that is being wasted, and given her values, that’s okay by me.

      • Mary says:

Touche. Big fish in a very, very small pond.

She’s the only poster now, and she only gets 6-10 responses per post, and all of them to toe the line and stroke her ego.

        It’s very Obotish.

  3. yttik says:

That’s f-in hilarious, Crawdad. Thanks for posting it.

  4. WMCB says:

Mary Katherine looks like she is having fun doing the video. 😀
