I’m famous!!!

No, seriously.

I was looking for something else and I stumbled across this at Wikipedia:

Blog wars

In the aftermath of Barack Obama’s election, the PUMA’s online presence has fractured into numerous warring groups. The once-united bloggers at The Confluence split in 2009 over a variety of differences, most of which had nothing to do with the actual 2008 presidential election. One of The Confluence’s most tenacious bloggers, the highly divisive Myiq2xu,[48][49] has been severely criticized for posting overtly sexist remarks on what had ostensibly been a liberal feminist political forum,[50][51] resulting in his being bestowed the satirical name Meatprod4u by writers at the Rumproast, a pro-Obama blog that has been highly critical of PUMA-Pac in general, and Darragh Murphy in particular.[52] Splinter blog sites started by former PUMA members and sympathizers include Widdershins, Not Your Sweetie, Edge of Forever, and Wired Left. Administrators in virtually all of these PUMA and post-PUMA groups accuse rival groups of stalking and trolling and, on some occasions, even going so far as to make public real-life names, addresses, and telephone numbers of perceived rivals and/or adversaries, as on an August 20, 2009 Recusive Leftist post, where Myiq2xu posted an anonymous protester’s real-life identity, for no apparent reason other than the opportunity having presented itself.[53]

The “anonymous protestor” was a man carrying a gun outside a pro-Obamacare rally in Arizona. MSNBC used an edited video of the man to support their claims that it was evidence of white racism. The unedited video reveals that the man carrying the gun was black.

Violet Socks reported this dishonest stupidity in a post titled “MSNBC continues its slo-mo crash-and-burn descent to the gutter.” My comment that the Wiki article refers to is this one:

myiq2xu says:

Was his name Clayton Bigsby?

I followed it up with a post at The Confluence here.

For those of you who don’t know, Clayton Bigsby is a Dave Chappelle character, aka “The Black White Supremacist.”

The boys over at Blogstalkers (Where the men are men, and so are the women) gotta be really disappointed. They revised the Wiki page about PUMA over a year ago and apparently nobody noticed until now.

I’ll wait a few days to notify Wikipedia about the false and defamatory information posted there. They will remove it and flag the page to prevent further revisions.

Or maybe not. I kinda like being famous.

  2. crawdad says:

They said Hillary was divisive. Sarah too.

So I guess you’re in good company.

  3. Murphy says:

Well, that’s embarrassing! It’s not like obots were ever any good at even perfunctory research or, you know, knowing anything though, were they?

    Tenacious! I like that.

  4. 1539days says:

Isn’t the acronym for PUMA even wrong in the article?

  5. OK, on this one I have to come back. If only to brag that somehow there’s two of me in that story.I am however jealous for not having a name in the alternative universe of those glued to the windows watching us.And to clarify to them that there was never anything sexist in miq’s posts – whatever the reasons for the separations turned out to be.

  6. After reading the entry, I see a whole paragraph dedicated to James Roosevelt clearing his own RBC. For disclosure purposes
Now, on to wikipedia to try to shed some light on that.

  7. Murphy says:

Ugh, I can never bring myself to read those hate sites- feels so personal.

Don’t know how you do it Miq

  8. Murphy says:

Hate makes me cringe… But I drink a lot too.

  9. Riverdaughter says:

    You mean infamous. Or notorious.
I miss you the most of all the Conflucians who went their separate ways. If only you weren’t afflicted with an adult version of oppositional defiant disorder…
    You done good, myiq.

  10. I added the James Roosevelt paragraph. If the link to my blog will make it disappear, I’ll write it again with a link to Boston Globe.

Wow, you are famous. I can say I knew you when you were just a regular clown.

  13. Jake Tapper FB posted the NYTimes article on their new poll yesterday, citing a line that said one third of Republicans would not vote for a Mormon. The second comment on Tapper’s thread from Obot Scott Robert..

    The P.U.M.A.’s of 2012. […yawn…]

  14. SYD says:

So many of my favorite bloggers there! And I still follow most of them. :~)
