Tucker Carlson is full of shit

Mediaite:

Greta Van Susteren went slightly ballistic over Tucker Carlson‘s editorial decision to publish a story on Mike Tyson‘s deplorable comments on Sarah Palin– she called him a “pig” and his website “disgusting.” So it wasn’t a surprise that her debate face to face with Carlson tonight was some of the best cable news television in quite a while, with Carlson cornering Van Susteren into explaining how his publication of “prima facie repulsive” comments compares to her friendly chats with Tyson on her program in the past.

Carlson defended his decision initially by first and foremost defending Palin: “if he had said that about any other woman in public life… [the comments] would be in the front page of the New York Times.” He noted that he found strange how Van Susteren assumed that “we were somehow making this attack on Sarah Palin,” rather than publicizing it.” The comments in question involved Palin’s alleged affair with NBA player Glen Rice, and some of the most disgusting descriptions of sexual activity imaginable– which isn’t surprising coming from a convicted rapist.

“I think you’re lying about something,” retorted Van Susteren, arguing that the editorial note added to the Daily Caller article later condemning the remarks somehow belied Carlson’s initial point. She then railed about how covering the piece was “not journalism” and “glorifies violence on women,” to which Carlson interrupted and drew a parallel: “when al Qaeda says ‘we’re going to destroy America,’ we report it.” Van Susteren continued to argue that the article wasn’t sufficiently condemning, to which Carlson responded the comments were “prima facie repulsive”– there was no need to prattle on extensively about how gross they were.

Just because Mike Tyson said it doesn’t make it newsworthy. He is a former boxing champ and a convicted rapist. His political opinions are irrelevant.

But assuming that his repulsive statements were newsworthy, it is possible to report the story without repeating them.

Last week it was reported that stolen nude photos of Scarlett Johansson had been posted on the internet. Many news outlets managed to report than fact without posting the pictures themselves.

Carlson’s Daily Caller posted the pictures but pasted his face over her exposed breast and buttocks. That was ironically appropriate because Tucker is both a boob and an ass.

There’s a difference between news and journalism. What Mike Tyson has to say is neither. News would be any evidence of this rumor (video of Palin as a sports reporter doesn’t count). Journalism would be someone ACTUALLY ASKING GLEN RICE if he confirms this.

Really, this “story” is the most racist shit I have seen in a long time. It’s certainly worse than anything that Dick has dealt with. You have to go back to the campaign, when a few Republicans said that Ann Dunham became obsessed with the idea of sleeping with a black man and Barack Obama was the result.

Someone should remind Tucker he isn’t working for MSNBC anymore. Better yet, he shouldn’t be working for Fox anymore.

Who Sarah Palin did or didn’t have sex with twenty years ago isn’t news, period.

      • 1539days says:

        Would that were true.

I want a list of everyone all politicians and public figures fucked in their twenties. Starting with YOU, Tucker. Come on, cough up a list.

Who did Obama fuck in college? Inquiring minds want to know, and I’ve been told this is now a “legitimate” inquiry to make.

Hey, Nancy and Harry – who did you fuck in college? Cough up a list, please. Mittens and Newt – please submit your sexual escapade history for perusal. Oh, and Olbermann and Tweety need to provide one too.

Tucker is a woman hating psychopath. He has no idea what he even did wrong. The ignorance astounds.

    • bluestate says:

only a misogynist would raise a violent, idiotic attack such as this out of the mouth of a hasbeen up to the status of being newsworthy. it doesn’t bear repeating, let alone disseminating. tucker’s actions absolutely reek of misogyny. and greta cleaned his clock on every point. it’s only too bad greta doesn’t get her dander up more often.

  3. votermom says:

It’s not just Tyson and Tucker Carlson who are flaunting their misogyny here. So is Mediaite who is reporting this as if Carlson is the reasonable and fair one and Greta is the hysterically angry bitca.

    Mediaite is a STY.

    • bluestate says:

yeah, i know. the author goes on say:

[T]hose who adore the cult of personality around Palin more than any ideology will side with Van Susteren, while those would rather see Palin treated on equal footing with other female public figures will undoubtedly side with Carlson.

nah, those who aren’t misogynists don’t want to see women demeaned, period. and the author of the article is a woman, well great.

  4. I think it would only be news if what Mike said was coming out of his decapitated head as it was hurling towards Tuckers ass. Too soon?

    Mike and Tucker Who?

  6. Three Wickets says:

Mediaite is another site which traces its lineage to NBC and Gawker. Tucker is an ass. From the fratboys in DC to Nick Denton and all his disciples in NYC, it’s pretty much misogynists on parade. Dumb spoiled adolescent schmucks. And the left is just as bad as the right when it comes to sexist idiots.

For every 100 points the S&P drops in October, about 18.4 billion dollars will change hands. If the S&P loses 1,000 points, 184 billion dollars will change hands
