You can’t win with a bigot:
Janeane Garofalo: Racist Republicans Support Herman Cain
Janeane Garofalo: “Herman Cain is probably well liked by some of the Republicans because it hides the racist elements of the Republican party. Conservative movement and tea party movement, one in the same.
“People like Karl Rove liked to keep the racism very covert. And so Herman Cain provides this great opportunity say you can say ‘Look, this is not a racist, anti-immigrant, anti-female, anti-gay movement. Look we have a black man.'”
“If Republicans don’t support Obama it’s because they’re racists. If they support Herman Cain it’s because they’re racists.”
Janeane Garofalo is our Obot Douchebag of the Weak.
This is proof that Olbermann kills brain cells.
It’s very simple for these idiots. Everyone who does not agree with their political goals is a racist, by definition.
It is very easy to ascertain this, by simply asking “What would the republicans have to do to convince you they aren’t all dirty racey racists?” And the answer is pretty much something along the lines of: they have to become Democrats, and agree with us on the scope of govt.
They have stolen the idea of being “black” from those who actually ARE black, and have decided that black is not a skin color, or even a cultural heritage. Black is an ideology. Specifically, theirs.
Supporting Herman Cain can only be racist, because Herman Cain is not black. “Black” is a particular ideology, ergo he is not really black. Oh, they don’t always come out and say that (sometimes they do), but that’s what is meant.
The thing that I can’t fathom is why the black community allows the Democratic Party to co-opt and subsume the entire identity of the black race in America into itself, to the point that the Democratic Party, and a particular set of political beliefs, is the arbiter of who is and is not black.
I find it sad that a political group can OWN blackness. And I find it doubly sad that the black community not only allows, but encourages this. You can’t even be black without the express permission of the Left.
They’ve stolen blackness itself from actual black people.
Free at last, free at last. Indeed?
I think you’re giving too much credit when you say it’s an ideology. Because it’s not a set of principles, or theories, or any sort of cohesive set of thought, it’s simply a knee-jerk response.
The OFB have nothing left for supporting Obama except: 1) raycists!; and 2) those crazy Repubs are worse!. Garafalo manages a sort of daily double by intertwining both in one sentence.
Where’s that bowling ball with a skull that she used in the “Mystery Men” movie? Should smack her face and miss the bag.
She’s annoying but ixnay on the violent imagery thingy.
She’s already a complete waste of human skin. There’s no reason to do anything at all, except mock the fool.
It’s nice to have white woman explain to a white man how that black guy over there who disagrees with them is racist. That must be what living in a post-racial country means.
Don’t you mean “most-racial?”
good one
Garofalo is the poster child for the new post racial world we seem to be in where the only thing that matters is race. She seems to be obsessed with race 24/7. She’s fucking nuts.
How racist she is–a privileged white woman making these kinds of evaluations regarding racism as it pertains to a black Republican candidate. Incredible. She’s gone off the deep end.
She’s white so she gets to determine what party and ideology blacks should subscribe to? Now that is racism and incredibly patronizing.
That is absolutely correct, gum.
And if there are people out there who can’t see through the likes of Garofalo… well, I just don’t think there is any hope for them.
That statement would sound a lot crazier if singling out black people at rallies and protests for the “omg look at this” treatment wasn’t such a regular thing.
A black guy at a tea party rally who gets shouted at on youtube is somehow important news all over the blogs in a way world events aren’t. If there’s a different reason for that, it’s yet to be explained.
Bizarre, Crawdad, just bizarre. A white liberal woman and a white misogynist discuss how racist it is to support a black man’s run for the presidency.
I can’t even make a reasonable comment about that. Did these people smoke their identity politics?
It’s become so bizarre. The koolaid and the race-baiting formula gets into their heads, and they become these ridiculous zombies. Maybe everything and everyone becomes a stereotype in hollywood because that’s what they do for a living in a way. Reality is not a requirement, neither is complexity, neither is seeing people as individuals instead of cardboard cutouts. Use to enjoy Janeane in her early film efforts and most of her comedy, then she drank the koolaid and it’s been non stop zombie blabber from her ever since.
