Tinfoil Alert!!!

Althouse:

I have a conspiracy theory, but I won’t tell you what it is…

… because I hope the conspiracy — if it exists — succeeds. Some time next year, I’ll tell you what the theory was, as this is a conspiracy that will play out within a limited time frame. Don’t try to drag it out of me. I am not in this conspiracy, but I don’t want to blow the lid off of it. It’s has to do with certain political actors seeming to be pursuing one goal, when actually they seek the opposite.

Consider:

Ann Althouse is a moderate Republican blogger. What kind of conspiracy would she want to succeed?

It would be irresponsible not to speculate.

    What is the apparent goal?

It has to be electing/reelecting someone (or defeating same) or passage/repeal of a law.

Don’t really read or know Ann well. She seems smart. Think everyone in electoral politics is playing some form of advanced checkers. It’s rarely chess imo. So one conspiracy theory while everything else is taken at face value doesn’t make sense to me. That said, probably the best clue to what she’s thinking is that she would like the outcome. Not knowing her, I have no clue.. 🙂

If memory serves, Althouse was an Obama voting republican in 2008. He was kind of the awesome. So I would guess it has something to do with a big RINO getting the nomination, like Christie, or the Supremes throwing out Obamacare so the Won has a better shot in 2012.

    • I see the Supremes in a row pushing him to the front of the stage, while Diana Ross sings … what?

    • votermom says:

Yup, I think so too. She doesn’t like Palin, nor, as far as I can tell, the Tea Party. So I am guessing it has to do with the GOP primary dates kerfluffle and all the krispy kreme signals the GOP are sending out.

Probably a plan to get a tea partier elected but making it look like trying to get Romney elected.

Fifteen Definitions of Freedom from #OccupyWallStreet My word this is messy. Feeling stoned just reading it.

Think Janis put it better: “freedom’s just another word for nothin left to lose..”

    From an Althouse commentor…

    1. Hillary Clinton will resign, change parties, and run for and win the Republican nomination. After her historic election, she will name Obama to the Supreme Court, which is what he really wanted all along.

    2. Obama will reveal that he was created at Area 51 out of spare genetic parts, thus explaining his lack of a past.

Sounds about as good as any to me.

  7. Dario says:

Althhouse conspiracy is that Bachmann knows she can’t win, but she’s a TP place holder for Palin, and when Palin announces her candidacy, Bachmann will bow out and throw her support to Palin.

  8. DandyTiger says:

Let’s see, if she’s a moderate republican, she’d like either Obama or Romney to win. Either will do, they’re politics are 99.9% the same. And if it’s a conspiracy, it might involve the big party machines, who, like her, want either Obama or Romney. So we’re likely talking about manipulating things so the most unelectable Republican gets nominated so Obama can win, or things will be rigged so Romney will get nominated, then it doesn’t matter who wins the general.

    • DandyTiger says:

Though if she doesn’t like Obama now, because, well, who in their right mind does, then it’s about Romney winning. Heavens to Murgatroyd.

    • Three Wickets says:

Yes if it’s Obama and Romney, they might as well call off the general, just have them flip a coin to see who gets to be the other’s vp. Two robots with interchangeable parts.
