I believe it was only at Zucotti Park that microphones/megaphones are not allowed. If no such rules exist at this Philly facility, then no
such rules are being broken. (Lack of speakers at this computer prevent me from actually listening to what she is saying).
Some one of these days I will get a computer of my very own. Then I will be able to listen to anything and everything I want to in my very
own little dwelling unit.
Geez… how come nothing like that happened at the Occupy LA. At least, it would have made the spectacle more entertaining. I totally would have had Scooby ears. And man is my generation sensitive; it is so embarrassing.
Tent next to her cost a pretty penny. Went to a place called Dick’s today and looked at camping gear. Hi tech stuff.
i am a greedy bastard and love to make money. Considering camping out as i am up all night reconciling paper work for some of the stuff I have an interest in. So I could pitch a tent and use laptop to get paid 11.44/hr to be making money.
i don’t know? Not a big camping supply guy. Cool stuff though. Shower thingy was the coolest — pour water in and the curtain goes up. you can allow the water to be heated by the sun and then get a wicked fast shower for two gallons of water and it saves the “brown water ” to be used for other purposes. Not cheap.
one woman who works for me is very into the whole occupy thing. She works Friday Saturday and Sunday nights behind a bar. makes 8/hr plus about 750 a week in tips. She is upset that she has no health insurance. I get that and have looked into how i can make money and offer part time employees benefits. Cannot be done.
Anyhow i own less than a quarter of this place and had not been there since we opened. after a funeral for a high school friend i took a few people in to have a mini-wake. I ordered a round of drinks which came to 72 dollars. Gave the bartender a hundred and told her to keep the change. next round she said this one’s on me and gave away 72 dollars worth of booze. i didn’t even fire her. but now she is behind the bar screaming that she doesn’t get health care for her part time job that yields her 30 an hour.
not going to let her go as I blame management but i will be sitting next to her cash register F/S/Sun night and i will let her know i own the place.
Generation X Doesn’t Want to Hear It http://www.emptyage.com/post/11591863916/generation-x-doesnt-want-to-hear-it
The first generation to do worse than its parents? Please. Been there. Generation X was told that so many times that it can’t even read those words without hearing Winona Ryder’s voice in its heads. Or maybe it’s Ethan Hawke’s. Possibly Bridget Fonda’s. Generation X is getting older, and can’t remember those movies so well anymore. In retrospect, maybe they weren’t very good to begin with.
But Generation X is tired of your sense of entitlement. Generation X also graduated during a recession. It had even shittier jobs, and actually had to pay for its own music. (At least, when music mattered most to it.) Generation X is used to being fucked over. It lost its meager savings in the dot-com bust. Then came George Bush, and 9/11, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Generation X bore the brunt of all that. And then came the housing crisis.
And Gen X, because there are so few of us, will NEVER have political power. Srsly don’t get me started on what surely would be a rant of epic proportions.
While we are certainly a large enough generation to have clout, many boomers graduated into an unfriendly world, too. We were faced with a recession as well. Wage and price controls. Gas lines. Mortgage rates that made it feasible to put your house on your Mastercard. Being drafted to fight in a war that we didn’t start and wanted to end. It took most of us close to a year to find a decent job when we got out of college. PhDs were driving taxicabs. Every generation “pays its dues” to make the passage to adulthood. And we all mistakenly believe that the generations who came before us had it easier.
I never heard this at the peace marches in nyc and dc ? I remember about 2-3 hours of speakers and, of course, permits and sound equipment 😀 Just the chants, what do you want…peace…when do you want it….now. And we out-of-towners occupied hotels 😉
Speaking of WTF…..this is funny, protesters follow Boehner into club house to protest him. Does this happen to Harry Reid? Last I heard, it’s his Senate not approvin’ things.
No. They have yet to protest a single Democratic politician, but they’ve hit several Republicans.
This despite the fact that Dems held 2/3 of the power from 2006 to 2008 (two houses of congress), ALL the power from 2008 to 2010 (both houses plus POTUS), and now again hold 2/3 of the power (POTUS plus one house).
So for six fucking years the Dems have held either 2/3 or ALL the power in DC. But it’s still solely the R’s fault the economy sucks.
The tea party went after the leadership, at the time held by Dems led by BO. Probably why they were accused of being “astroturfy GOP operatives”. Believe me, what I witnessed at their first DC rally, every politician was in their crosshairs. They were especially upset with the “spineless Republicans” who didn’t fight back against the Dem DC monopoly.
The OWSers need to focus on Washington next and soon. Maybe the smart faction will eventually emerge when they see OFA is playing them like a fiddle.
Modern Day Poetry.
Goth poetry
Dismembered bodies on my lawn sounds like Zombie Poetry.
Sounds like a typical weekend at my place.
It’s a thin line between protest and cult.
oh how cute! they’re doing up and down twinkies!
She’s actually crying at the end.
Yeah, that’s the big clue-by-four about the cult thing.
I went and started reading the comments on the youtube page. SOme are the typical hate comments but some make me laugh.
Notice that one of the “hateful” things she heard was “why are you here?”
you see if you ask them that, you are a hatemonger. LOL
I bet it was her parents that yelled “get a job” LOL

You don’t know what you’re missing. 😀

So why are they still using the cultist’s mic?

Dick’s is pricey, isn’t it?

This was posted to FB by a dear friend ,, I thought it was shareworthy , and not a bit or “WHINESE” in it.

Would just like to see more bipartisan protesting before I buy into the Ragers.

And despite the fact that the #1 recipient of Wall Street money is Barack Obama

When do they bust up Obama’s golf game?
Call me when it happens and I’ll get my ass to the nearest Occupy.
I’ll even do twinkies.
