If you don’t define yourself . . .

. . . somebody will do it for you.

Yeah, yeah, I know, FOX hires imposters yadda yadda yadda.

The fact is the vast majority of Americans will never attend an OWS protest (or a Tea Party.) They will depend on the images they see. If the ONLY images they see are freaks and haters, what else could they think?

Would it kill them to wave a few American flags?

Eric Kleefeld at TPM:

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is firing back at an attack from their counterparts at the NRCC, who released a web video Thursday that accused DCCC head Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) of supporting anti-Semitic demonstrators at the Occupy Wall Street protests.

In an e-mail to the DCCC supporter list, Steve Israel declares: “The extreme right wing has launched an outrageous attack to distract us from their reckless economic policies: They are questioning my commitment to my own religion.”

He also adds: “They’re attacking me to try to silence you — because they think it’s wrong that you’re frustrated and even angry about what Republicans are trying to do to this country. The personal attacks they’ve launched on me for standing with you are nothing in comparison to the hardships faced by middle income families across America every day.”

When asked for comment by TPM, NRCC spokesman John Randall gave us this statement:

Perhaps DCCC Chairman, Steve Israel, should direct his outrage and indignation towards the Occupy Wall Street protesters highlighted in this video. In his appeal, Obama’s top Lieutenant does not condemn even one act or anti-Semitic statement made by those he stands with.

The DCCC can do their best to distract from the fact they have urged their supporters to stand with the Occupy Wall Street protesters, but their efforts will fail – just like their fiscal policy.

I had to google who Steve Israel is.
I think that’s the second time crawdad’s made me use the google. It’s a plot! A plot, I tell ya!

If you want to learn more than you ever wanted to know about the guy behind “Hot Chicks of Occupy Wall Street,” check this out:

Steven Greenstreet proves he’s definitely not a misogynist by making rape jokes.

I keep hearing from the OWS supporters that “it’s not mostly like what you are seeing in those videos.” I hear this even when I point to videos that were posted by participants and supporters themselves, showing passionate but frankly clueless people with a hodgepodge of bizarre, vague, or unicorny ideas.

Fine. It’s not like that? Then get your camera and go stroll through the crowd randomly talking to people and panning around the place and SHOW me something different.

The fact that they haven’t speaks volumes.

What gets me is when *somebody* tries to tell me what “they” want or “they” believe.

Who is “they?” Who told you this? How do you (or me or anyone) know what “they” want?

I have never been to a tea party or and ows what ever they call them.
I have never been a republican. I was a dem for almost 50 years and I am now an independent.
My generation was taught to watch out for and be very careful of extremism as it has terrible consequences. We were taught to try not let ourselves be used.
I am liberal in some things and conservative in others.
I consider myself an average American with the right to speak out and disagree Right now I am very afraid for my country

I believe you give a starving man a fish to eat, then you teach him how to fish,a then you give him the opportunity to do so.
I was taught that was the American way

Report: Occupy Oakland Devolves into “Lord of the Flies”

    From the Oakland Tribune:

The next thing Hughes knew he was in a headlock, then he was being punched, and then he was on the ground as a large man began to choke him.

This happened as Hughes, a substitute teacher and Occupy Oakland resident, tried to keep a larger man who also lived in the camp from threatening a woman there. Finally, after another threatening incident involving the same individual, the occupiers had had enough:

About 3:30 Tuesday afternoon, a group of roughly 50 people gathered by the man’s tent and told him he had to leave. Some were speaking calmly. Others weren’t. It was then that the man pulled out a large kitchen knife and threatened the whole group…It was only when someone picked up a piece of wood and cracked him across the head that the ordeal ended.

The banks really and truly suck. No question.

Enabled by our government, they’re given free rein to ruin
    people’s lives.

    It has to stop.

    America has some serious problems.

Will the Occupy movement solve them by camping, dancing naked, chanting and meditation?

    I don’t think so.
And since I don’t look that great naked, I’m not joining.

  8. catarina says:

    For crissake.

A man is arrested at Occupy Toronto after allegedly smelling a woman’s feet and trying to get other protesters to drink urine.

The Protester who uploaded this video also left this comment on it claiming his girlfriend was groped by this man as well:

“He was also groping her but I failed to mention due to being a bit emotionally tied up. Evidently the cop and I cleared it up wish I could have reacted perfectly. If I didn`t get this evidence I feel those who were still in the tent would have discovered it.”

      don’t miss the comments. Jesus.

Check out the end where other protesters discourage him to give evidence to the police and he pleads with them, and then they say he is something I can’t make out. What the hell is their problem with the police? From what I’ve seen, the police have been pretty indulgent with them for the most part. Certainly I haven’t heard anything coming out of Toronto about police brutality.
