And Michelle really shops at Target too!

"I'll send out the checks, but I'm not going to hug anybody."

Obama Has Written Personal Checks To Struggling Americans

Got problems? Tell Barack Obama. He can help. He might even give you money.

On more than one occasion, the president has cut personal checks to struggling Americans who’ve written to the White House, according to an excerpt from a new book by Washington Post reporter Eli Saslow about the ten letters the president reads every day.

“It’s not something I should advertise, but it has happened,” the president told Saslow.

How many times has President Obama intervened on someone’s behalf, and with what kind of problems does he help? Mortgage payments? Medical bills? And when he wants to help someone out with a personal check, how does it work? Does he send a check signed “Barack Obama” directly to the individual in need, or does he send the money to a bank or company on the person’s behalf? Do people even know when Obama has helped them out, or does the help arrive anonymously through a lawyer?

The White House declined to answer any questions about the practice.

He feels your pain. Really, he does!

“Ha, ha! I love that story” — Pee Wee Herman.

I don’t believe this for a second. As soon as the first person got their check from Obama, it would be all over the news.

Plus, this guy does nothing altruistic without making sure it is publicized in every media source.

  3. Mary says:

Huffington Post story. Like mainlining directly to the base.

I’m doubtful of that, but I don’t see Obama doing this anyway. At least not without publicity.

One wonders why the story is being leaked now. Oh wait….

  4. angienc says:

Only the seriously delusional Obots (redundant) will believe this, as there stupidity/delusion/lack of critical thinking skills have all proven infinite.

And, btw, now that I’ve thought about this further: even if this is true (which, as I said, I don’t believe it is), WTF the POTUS sending out $10 checks to people in trouble. Why doesn’t he *do* something to *actually* help *everyone* because he is actually one of the few in the position to do it. Give me a fucking break with this “Save the Children” charity pretense.

Furthermore, we’ve seen this greedy SOB’s tax records — they’ve never given too much to charity. All of a sudden they’re parting with their own money to help strangers? Utter bullshit.

People who believe this should be shot.

I often think of this poor deluded kool aid-addled woman and wonder — has she lost her house that Obama was supposed to pay the mortgage on yet? Is she sleeping in that car of hers? If yes, will she still be voting for Obama in 2012? (Actually, I don’t wonder about that last one — I know that is a definite yes).

    Send me a check, Obama!

Things that go hmmmmmmmm. Just caught the “Obama ending the war, bringing troops home for the holidays” speech and pundits are reporting he’s fulfilling a campaign promise. Wait. What?

    http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Status_of_Forces_Agreement,_2008

Sorry, it’s Bush’s fault /snork. The agreement was signed in Nov ’08 with Dec 31,2011 has the final date for total troop withdrawl. Almost 3 full years after Obama’s campaign “promise”. It was always the plan.

  8. Angelasmith says:

Um, it’s not that I distrust mr Obama or anything (ha!), but I think people should get that money
(alleged money, that is) in cash rather than personal check. And as for mrs O shopping at target??! Yeah, oookkkaaayyy. Look 15 secret service people are in that store somewhere.
Did Marie Antoinette ever annoy the commoners by mingling?

    • angienc says:

No but she often dressed up as a shepherdess & “played poor” at her “little chateau” Petit Trianon.

      Same idea.

  9. Angelasmith says:

And hey, that target store looks completely empty besides the check out people! Target is never empty!! I’ll bet they made everybody wait outside while that scowling gal picked out her
    Poor-ware! &@”$£%*£@

LOL! Give me a break! The president hasn’t given anyone a dime.

I think the Republicans are not listening to the media that Mitt is The One now:

Cain Up by Double-Digits in Iowa
A new University of Iowa poll finds Herman Cain leading the Republican presidential field in the first caucus state with 37%, followed by Mitt Romney at 27%, Ron Paul at 12%, Newt Gingrich at 8%, Rick Perry at 6%, Michele Bachmann at 4% and Rick Santorum at 3%.

Most interesting: 86% say they’re somewhat or very satisfied with the current GOP field.

Awww…such a swell guy. Funny that this just happened to get ‘leaked’ when his numbers are so low. Call me cynical.

    Catching up on some threads.

It seems like someone in the WH heard about the Mary D Fund and lifted her lifetime’s work as his empathetic moment. We saw it on CBS Sunday Morning but apparently she was recently highlighted in the NY Times (won’t link – spammy eats two link posts).
