Blogging is my hobby

Blogging is my hobby. I don’t get paid for doing this.

That means I do it for fun and pleasure.

It also means I don’t have to put up with anyone who makes my blogging experience unpleasant.

So if you spend a few weeks getting on my last nerve and suddenly your comments start vanishing into the ether, that’s why.

OTOH – I don’t hold grudges. After a few weeks of not being annoyed I usually forget what I was annoyed about.

This is another open thread because I can’t find anything interesting to post about and I’m going back to bed. (It’s 4:40 am out here in Big Smoggy)

This sounds like another bank bailout to me.

My son (in DC now) had to short sell his Florida house, which was 150k underwater. He tried desperately to refi so he could at least afford to keep it as a rental til the market improved. He was told, too bad you made your payments on time, the Obama program is only for those 4 or more payments behind. He will now have to pay income tax on the 150k forgiven in the short sale. Yikes.

It is, in a roundabout way. The one thing the banks DO NOT wish to do is be forced to make their balance sheets honest. They are floating things on their books re: housing at vastly inflated prices. If they are ever forced to admit that – that they leveraged to the moon on housing and derivatives that are not worth what their books say they are worth, then they have to eat their losses, and are sunk. The natural cycle of the market is trying to make housing prices fall, which unpleasant as it is for some, NEEDS to happen. A bubble must deflate, or everything remains unable to recover. The banks and Obama will do anything to prevent that from happening, even if it’s the best thing for the economy as a whole. Because it would blow up several major banks into insolvency.

What Obama is doing – forcing the banks to refinance at current house value with NO appraisal – may look like it helps the homeowners a little, but it really is a gimme to the banks. All it does is help the banks keep their bubble inflated, while locking the homeowner into further debt paying off a loan that is WAY more than the house is worth in reality. They won’t be able to sell, or move, or anything for many many years – perhaps never. He’s helping the banks continue to REFUSE to eat their losses in housing. He’s helping them once again kick the can down the road.

The thing that might actually help the homeowner, like allowing principal cramdown in bankruptcy to the house’s real value in the real world, will not be discussed or allowed.

Blogging is more like therapy than a hobby to me.

So who annoyed the klown this time? Youze guys always do the squabbling when I’m not around to heckle & place bets. It’s not fair. *pout*

    😉

Darn, I missed it too, must have been an idiot of the highest levels. That said, keeping the Klown happy is pretty easy….beer, beer, and more beer.

Now if someone could do something about the Raiders……

      • Lola-at-Large says:

You forgot nudity in that list. Beer, beer, beer, nudity.

PS: Who is he kidding? My Colts are the laughing stock of the NFL and the most humiliated team in the league this year. We’re hosting the Superbowl this year so that two other teams can come to town and laugh in Manning’s face. It’s sad.

I heard a whining noise coming from the basement. I just figured the spam filter needed oil.

Testing to see if I’m annoying Miqu2xu….

  5. soupcity says:

I hope it wasn’t me, I did unintentionally insult clowns yesterday but I did apologize. Then I watched possibly the most boring NFL game in history, Browns-Seahawks but a win’s a win! (just keep telling yourself that soup)

  6. Lola-at-Large says:

Geez, you almost killed me, Klown. You oughta put a choke warning on that sh!t.

I just found out my 5th grade teacher died last week at the age of 91.

She was the first teacher that ever called me a smart ass.

    True story.
