OWS has more Republicans than Blacks

2.4% vs. 1.6%:

The infographic in question depicts the results of an internal online survey conducted by Occupy Wall Street supporters at occupywallst.org.

The data, compiled by advertising analyst Harrison Schultz and Ford Foundation sociologist Dr. Héctor R. Cordero-Guzmán, were intended to promote the idea, as Dr. Cordero-Guzmán put it, that “the 99% movement comes from and looks like the 99%.”

Some activists were outraged, however, that the survey results and the infographic show Occupy Wall Street to be 81.2 percent white, and only 1.6 percent black.

By comparison, the U.S. population is 77.1 percent white and 12.9 percent black, according to the U.S. Census Bureau–making the Occupy Wall Street movement disproportionately white.

The infographic, depicted below, caused instant controversy when it was shared among Occupy Wall Street organizers. One activist reacted: “81% white protestors–and you actually made a flyer proudly advertising this lie, in a multicultural city like NYC? You must be crazy and blind.”

She later accused Schultz of “insidious racism” and “white supremacy,” and demanded “serious mediation” from organizers on the Safer Spaces working group, the internal security apparatus of Occupy Wall Street.

Remember those all-white Tea Partiers?

Moore Lashes Out At CBS4 Over Wealth Questions

Filmmaker and activist Michael Moore joined a growing crowd at the “Occupy” Denver protest Thursday evening, but his encounter with CBS4 left him fuming when he was asked about whether he represented the “99 percent” that the protesters stand for, or the “1 percent” they claim to be rallying against.

    […]

When asked if he would acknowledge that he was rumored to be worth $50 million, and isn’t he part of the 1 percent, Moore replied, “I do very well.”

Cassimy: “How are you helping these people?”

Moore: “Because I do well, I want taxes raised on people who do well, including mine.”

Cassimy: “How are you helping these people with your $50 million?

    Moore: “I don’t have $50 million.”

Cassimy: “That’s what it’s rumored you are worth.”

Moore: “Well, really. Is that what you do is sell rumors?”

Cassimy: “We’re asking you for the truth.”

Moore: “You’re just punk media is all you are. You lie. You lie to people. Stop lying to people. Stop lying.”

Cassimy: “Are you not part of the 1 percent?”

    Moore: “Just don’t lie, okay?”

Someone should track down a comparison, but I suspect the Tea Party actually has more AA’s. That would be funny.

WTF? NYC has one of the greatest racial segregations in the entire country, according to the Census Bureau. http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2010/09/color_map_of_new_york_city_by.html

That’s for one. For two, this data screams privileged youth movement. So what, they’re pissed their gamble on Harvard didn’t pay off? WTF? this is not even close to the 99%. Fucktards.

That’s one reason I always laugh at stupid people who opine about the “diverse” cities and the “must all be white racist” suburbs and smaller towns. Hate to tell ya this, but people in smaller cities and suburbs may not have as large a number of blacks/asians/whatever as the cities do, but they more than likely interact a lot more socially and school and family and neighborhood-wise.

      • Lola-at-Large says:

True story. And the south is the most racially integrated in the country, but it’s so raycist. It’s little bullsh!ts like this that wake people up every single day.

When we went to New England in the summer of 2010, I got a real eye opener about how segregated and racist the New England North is. It is the most effed up thing I have ever seen.

They care a lot about the political entity known as “the black community”. Actual black persons, not so much.

‘Occupy’ Movement’s Favorability Rating Plummets, For Some Reason
    How very curious:

A sign that the Occupy Wall Street movement isn’t the best long-term vehicle for Democrats to connect themselves with:

A new Quinnipiac poll, showing a plurality of voters viewing the group unfavorably. The poll, released today, show 30 percent of voters surveyed view the movement favorably, 39 percent unfavorably, with an additional 30 percent not hearing enough to have an opinion. It’s one of the first national polls to suggest voters are growing skeptical of Occupy Wall Street- and it comes as police have clashed with protesters in several cities. Previous national polls have shown a plurality of adults supporting the movement.

    Ouch ! End the Occupation. Here’s why……

    http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/41994?t=1320425677

The big lie of Occupy Wall Street begins with its name. It isn’t occupying Wall Street, it’s occupying the resources of a city with a budget crisis on its hands.

Wall Street has been locked down since after September 11 and the Zuccotti Park encampment and its associated barricades isn’t doing much to impact the lives of the brokers and financial analysts the idiots in their best protest gear are braying about. The people who are being impacted are the small businesses adjacent to the protesters who are experiencing a return of the post 9/11 lockdown that wiped out so many downtown businesses.

But the people who are suffering the most from the OWS brats are the 1 percent, not the top 1 percent, but the bottom 1 percent, the people who are the most dependent on city services that are being diverted directly or indirectly by OWS.

That means the kid in the projects who needs the police to be there instead of macing white guys from Portland who think that braiding their hair makes them just like Bob Marley. It also means patients who need medical services from city hospitals whose budgets are already being cut, and will be cut further because of the unexpected expenses for the city associated with having thousands of idiots who decided that a park in the middle of the city is their ideal location for a campground.

Because of OWS, public schools, public libraries, public hospitals, roads and homeless shelters will not have money. That will have a direct impact on the lives of actual underprivileged people….more…..

A second vet was injured and didn’t receive care for 18 hours. Required surgery for a lacerated spleen and is at Highland Hospital in Oakland.

He claims to be an innocent bystander who was taking the back streets to avoid the conflict on the occupied building. However, Oakland isn’t exactly the place that you walk around at night unless you are a protester. Even the gangs know to drive. And this guy appears to have walked into OPD’s staging area where things went bad.

So it’s possible we have our first injured bystander or a guy who is lying about his intentions. Sorry, but OWS has lied too many times to just take their word, and really, who tries to walk past a bunch of police in riot gear?

Either way, OWS confronting the police means people will get hurt…innocent or not. And really, isn’t that the goal? OWS needs a Kent State….
