OWS Asshattery

Here’s the report in the Chicago Tribune:

The Republican governor, who appeared before about 300 people at a public policy breakfast at Chicago’s Union League Club, saw his speech interrupted by union-backed Occupy Chicago protesters for about six minutes before they left the event.

About 50 people who purchased tickets to the breakfast began chanting minutes into Walker’s remarks, reciting slogans such as “Union busting. It’s disgusting.” And “We are the 99 percent.” They also criticized Walker for being allowed free speech rights while blaming Mayor Rahm Emanuel for Chicago police arrests of 300 protesters who refused to leave Grant Park after an 11 p.m. curfew. The rudeness is sickening. I don’t understand how the protesters imagine that they will win support from anyone that way. They do seem driven to preventing Walker from ever speaking, but in fact, he did speak after they left. He said:

“The bottom line is, no matter how loud you shout, the facts are the facts. The facts are that our reforms have worked and continue to work in the state of Wisconsin.”

Freedom of speech for me but not for thee

This wasn’t some FOX News ringers. This wasn’t some anarchist fringe. This was OWS.

They were sooooo proud of themselves they made this video and posted it on YouTube.

Imagine you are an undecided voter. You don’t hate Scott Walker but you don’t love him either. You’re not a Tea Bagger or a Smelly Hippie.

When you watch this video, would you more likely be thinking “Wow, they sure showed that Walker guy!” or “What a bunch of assholes?”

If that doesn’t convince you, think of this – what turned you off first, Obama or his Obot supporters?

BTW – If I was a Republican ratfucker I’d be yelling “Go for it!”

Didn’t the tea partiers go to townhalls, but it was the Dem reps that shouted them down ?

It would be an interesting contrast to find a few of those. I may try later, but have the 8 year old twins and their puppies this weekend….a little distracted, thank gawd for scotch though 😉

So they hate women, they hate corporations in any form from small to large, they hate laws in any form, they hate conservatives in any form save one 🙂 , they hate capitalism in any form, and they hate freedom of speech. This is got to be the most pathetic cult I’ve ever seen. They make the original OFA look like saints.

No wonder so many people we thought had a brain are so smitten by them. /snark

The first time I got called a Republican ratfucker was by an Obot because I wasn’t smitten by teh awesomeness of Obama.

The last time I got called a Republican ratfucker was by an OWSer because I wasn’t smitten by teh awesomeness of OWS.

      I’m still just me.

There’s your problem right there. You’re not flexible for cult membership.

I am not sure if this guy is an owie but he sounds like one
Robber goes to rob LA hotel. Problem is they are hosting a martial arts convention. Robbery foiled

that is as bad as trying to pull a gun and rob a roofers bar on a rainy Monday does not work

    • myiq2xu says:

One time in LA these two guys tried to rob a bar. Problem was it was a cop bar full of armed off-duty cops.

But after subduing the robbers when they called into dispatch the dispatchers didn’t believe them and wouldn’t send out a patrol unit.

OT: From Andy Rooney’s last on air segment:

A writer’s job is to tell the truth. I believe that if all the truth were known about everything in the world, it would be a better place to live.

That bugged me, and I detest Scott Walker. If I watch it with the sound off and ignore fist-pumping, the message sounds reasonable enough to me (except the part where they get indignant about the Occupy Chicago camp being cleared out.) With the sound on, though, it’s a different story.

It reminded me a lot of footage I’ve seen of batshit-crazy fundamentalist preachers whipping the congregation into a frenzy about the homosecksuals, abortionists, feminists, etc. I’m talking about the ones who also think they can cast out demons. Mr. OWS People’s Mic Shouting Guy has the same tone of voice, inflections, and body language as some far right pastors who get in front of a crowd of hundreds or thousands with some poor soul, lay their hands on them, and Cast! Out! the Spirit! of Seckshual Immoraliteh! in the Name! of KeeeeRIST!!!!!

Some of the OWS rhetoric resonates with me — I’m pissed off about many of the same things. The reality of OWS, however — the actual behavior of these people in real life, strikes me as creepy as hell. It doesn’t look like democracy to me, or populism, for that matter. In fact, I’d say that video looked a lot like a brownshirt rally.
