Hot Air:

Video: Perry implodes; Update: Campaign is over, says top fundraiser

Via Business Insider. A few choice quotes. Larry Sabato:

To my memory, Perry’s forgetfulness is the most devastating moment of any modern primary debate.

Rich Lowry:

That might be the most uncomfortable moment I’ve ever witnessed in presidential politics.

Mona Charen:

That was the greatest flame-out I’ve ever witnessed in a debate.

He’s down to 4.9 percent now on InTrade; before the debate he was at 9.3 percent. Remember two months ago when he was going to be the guy who saved us from Romney? Yeah.

Update: Zero Hedge has the gruesome “flash crash” during Perry’s answer as captured on InTrade.

Update: CNN, live in the spin room: “I’m sure glad I had my boots on because I sure stepped in it out there.”

Update: WaPo’s Aaron Blake tweets: “Top Perry fundraiser to me: ‘Perry campaign is over. Time for him to go home and refocus on being Gov of TX.’”

We all get them, just not on national television.

OTOH – Herman Cain has got to be pleased, but his reprieve is only temporary. The jackals will return to feast on his flesh again in a day or two.

Happy Trails!

    That was painful to watch.

at the rate it is going, I may have to vote for Newt. As an ex democrat that is a strange feeling.
I just want backtrack gone. The country is turning into something , I never thought I would live to see.
The citiy governments catering to the owies. A political party being ok with a mob that is crime ridden and filthy.
None of our allies can trust us now with backtrack in the whitehouse. Unemployment at depression rate and a msm that can only talk about an alleged sexual harassment that happened 15 years ago.
I always loved this country, just as millions do. I did not think the country could turn down this horrible path and feel this is maybe the last change to turn it around

I remember when Perry said he would stop doing debates.

    He should have done that.

I think he is drugged from back surgery. The residuals from the drugs make you dopey. If you are not very smart to begin with you look like a loon. I hope he is not driving. I speak from experience. He needs to drop out, go home, take his physical therapy, and rest. I do not like him but feel sort of sorry for him.

I saw that last night and laughed my head off. Ironically, the genial way he is laughing about it makes me actually like him. I guess I am just contrary by nature.

    Absent-minded people for Perry!!!
    😆

Last night was the first debate I tried to watch on tv (didn’t finish it … I did see Perry flounder) and is it just me or is Cain starting to come across as as arrogant?

No offense to Cain supporters, that’s the vibe I got last night — I didn’t used to from his tv appearances. What do you guys think?

Also, how much money does Huntsman bribe the moderators with to give hims so many questions?

Also, I have tweeted this because it makes me grumpy:

Unless you don’t mind being called “fuckwad” in return. 🙂

    • honora says:

I totally agree and was surprised by the last sentence that seemed to suggest a debate vitctory for Cain. Women are already suspicious (where there is so much smoke, a fire is probably around) about Cain. This was beyond sexist– it could indicate that Cain just doesn’t ‘get’ women. Too bad we are the majority of the citizens and voters.

      • votermom says:

Perry’s flub is letting Cain’s “princess” comment slide by. Besides, the press loves misogyny anyway.

        • DandyTiger says:

Sadly I think even without the Perry blunder, the MSM wouldn’t have noticed anything wrong with the “princess” comment. Hey, it’s the kind of thing they say every day.

      • catarina says:

The was Pelosi threw her weight around as speaker was obnoxious and arrogant for sure.

But jeez, what a DUMB thing to say!

      • myiq2xu says:

I wasn’t suggesting the Cain won the debate. I don’t know who won – I didn’t even watch it.

My point was that Perry’s brain fart will take the attention off Cain for a little while.

  7. catarina says:

We thought Perry was *trying* to be funny and nobody ‘got it.’

Dumb joke, Rick, if that was the case.

My husband thought Romney did well, but how hard is that with Rick’s senior moment and Cain’s “princess” and 9-9-9 crap.

How much more of this do we have to take?
    Enough already!

  8. catarina says:

Did anyone read the CNBC ticker on the screen during the debate?

The whining tweets were unbelievable..”candidates are NASTY…Newt is being MEAN to us…they’re so CRANKY…. waaawaaaa!”
