Occupy boring

I was looking through the latest stories about the Occupiers and I came to the realization that they are no longer newsworthy. In fact, they’re boring.

The Occupations that remain are essentially homeless encampments and the occasional small protests would not even be local news if it weren’t for the “Occupy” name. Mocking them is like jeering at the Special Olympics.

Actually that’s unfair – the kids in the Special Olympics work hard and accomplish something.

So unless and until the Occupiers do something newsworthy I’m not wasting any more front page space on them. I may still post things in the comment threads though.

BTW – If you requested to follow me on Twitter but didn’t get a reply that’s because:

    1. I don’t twit

    2. I lost my password anyway

We’re taking our demands for true democracy and economic justice directly to President Obama and the GOP candidates, to the banks, and to the media. They’ve ignored each of us as individuals, but they can’t ignore us all.

BO’s going to be in Iowa between 12/26-1/3/2012 ?

Stick a fork in them. They’re done. Some of them just don’t know it yet. Sad and pathetic really. I guess no one did ever “get it”.

    • No, most people did “get it”, that’s why they failed.

A shame we lost THC friends over this. I see them at RD and NYS pumping their fists for “the cause”, and still can’t understand why?

Reminds me of my days at Allegre’s Corner, after she led the revolt off of Daily Kos…she was jobless too….fast forward to her getting a JOB, and the rest of us were chum she could no longer hang out with.

2008 was a dismal, dismal year for Democrats.

        • Lola-at-Large says:

Allegre and RD share the same cooties values. Any talk of voting for Republicans would get you a stern talking to, if not a banning. I stopped participating there when she started posting anti-Palin shit. I hung at TC against my better judgement until she started bashing the TP. It’s so highly ironic that she has now joined the Democratic Tea Occupation.

lola, me too. Never did understand the anti-Palin movement.

The revenge of Jerry Seinfeld – a protest about nothing.

This is good news. I was done a week ago. Dandy actually quoted me in this thread (unwittingly, of course).

If it were the Special Olympics, Obama would be making fun of them

I’m a pretty tough mama of an almost 40 yr old Special Olympian, but I remember this segment reminding me why BO was such a putz. So out of touch.

Occupy is boring and pointless, but I’ve been closely following Occupy Seattle, especially at the community college. The school is trying desperately to get them evicted and doesn’t seem to have any legal recourse, which is just astounding to me. Students are complaining about their lack of safety, several have dropped out of school and predictably, there was another attempted sexual assault this weekend. They’ve shut the daycare down. Some classes have been canceled. The OWS people are just being bullies and pointlessly harassing low income students.

    • DandyTiger says:

Hmm, OWS people are bullies. I’m shocked. I’ve never. Remember, occupyists don’t ever have to listen to non occupyists. So they’re always right.

Hey, myiq, if you see this, can you shoot me an e-mail at peacocksandlilies@gmail.com? I have a quick and dirty legal question (copyright issue) for you, if you don’t mind. Thanks.

  9. Lola-at-Large says:

LOL. I get it. But, can you answer the simple question of whether or not I can publish on my blog an e-mail in its entirety sent directly to me? Or do I need to partially quote from it? My research suggest I can reprint them entirely, but I want to make sure before I do. If you don’t know the answer, I can contact a local lawyer directly.
