Is it December already?

I’m feeling kinda run down this morning. Check back later.

Maybe someone else will post something in the meantime. Until then this is an open thread.

PS: Read this post by JWS and the comments that follow.

JWF’s article was a good read. OWS=Failure to Focus was their biggest, well, Fail. Remember how we were advised by other bloggers to “wait for it” ? The mission and the message that is.

    Feel better Myiq 🙂

Denise, the Obot troll over at JWF’s used to post as Burtworm on DU. Ring any bells? Now he claims he barely sipped the koolaid back then, but I seem to remember him as one of the nastier Obot bullies in 08.

      Am I wrong?

      • DeniseVB says:

I think I’ll log back on to DU and check it out. Burtworm is a very familiar name, I may have left before they spiked the kool aid.

        • DeniseVB says:

Burtworm seemed to stop posting in 2005 ? No Journal or profile came up. Did he change his/her name?

        • I got booted in December a year ago. Most likely because I posted a picture making fun of Obama for being just another lying member of the Ruling bi-Party. See, I’m not all bad after all. 😉 (Hillary was in the picture though, laughing heartily at America’s expense with the rest of them over what suckers we Americans be for ever falling for that change we can believe in” crap.)

I was leafing through my archived DU posts about Hillary to confirm my memory and found that I have been consistently ambivalent about her from the time of her IWR vote on, defending her (even calling her a mensch in one thread) in some places and castigating her for running too close to the center, especially on her Middle East policies. But I can’t find evidence of participating in those fucked up wars that went on in the Primaries sanctuary.

I hate DU now like any normal person.

        • DeniseVB says:

christo…..I left DU before I got booted in ’09. The “new” mods didn’t want me posting my blog link in my sig line or profile. “No Links to Criticism Of Obama Allowed”. So I complied, unlogged myself with my link. I had over 20k posts in 5 years w/o a warning. Sad, isn’t it?

Shortly thereafter I had an epipthany, Dems are just as crooked and evil as Repubs. Look up Duopoly 😉

        • Denise, our experiences were sort of similar that way. I had maybe 40,000 posts and had contributed hundreds of dollars to them, once even going on a monthly payment plan. I was loyal, but it wasn’t like I couldn’t see what a fucking control freak that asshole Skinner was, or how dysfunctional the discourse was, not just between you guys and the Obots, as you call them, but between we Deanheads and Kerryites, the Greens and everyone else, the smokers and nonsmokers, men and women, GLBT and straights, and on and on and on. Dumb place. Dumb idea after the initial impetus for it as a refuge for Gore voters lost its sway.

        • Pips says:

Aaawww, isn’t that sweet. Making a little fun of Obama, all the while making sure the joke also hits (the true target?) Hillary Clinton “laughing heartily at America’s expense”.

  2. DeniseVB says:

Desperate tone in BO’s latest fundraising speeches ?

    http://news.investors.com/Article/593351/201112010754/obama-fundraiser-speech-needs-more-time.htm

Makes me wonder who these people are giving him so much money. Could it be a Soros-like operation buying all these tickets and putting warm bodies in these seats? I’d really like to see these guest lists 😉

  3. I liked this part: “OLA is now defending its “right” to squat illegally on land that has no meaning in the larger picture, which is emblematic of the confusion of the entire movement”

    • DandyTiger says:

      Better:

Many Occupiers are busy congratulating themselves for their “accomplishment” – another perfect demonstration of pathetic public education system they emerged from. Everybody gets a sticker for showing up. Everyone’s ‘self worth’ is feted with a bull horn and a cookie. The concept of real accomplishment is utterly foreign, in fact, it is dangerous. The true “others” in this nether world are those who get things done. They must be fought.

  4. DeniseVB says:

Hot Air’s added Sarah back in the Pres field 😀 Take their December survey!

  5. DandyTiger says:

Made it through all the comments. Wow, they really wiped the floor up with that CP obot. Fun to watch.

    • jjmtacoma says:

Yes, it would serve as a cautionary tale, if only…

    • They needed to clean up the floor after all the bloodletting that went on their. 😉

It’s funny how different different people’s ideas about “cleaning up the floor” are. What you see as cleaning up the floor I saw as a human version of antibody defense. Purely automatic responses serving no purpose but to mindlessly “get foreign object out.” It did work because I’m not going to post there anymore. If they wanted to dialog, which it’s clear they don’t, they would have to come to me.

None of this going to stop me from thinking and writing about how this fits into the decadent American political scene and the potential to transcend it. That certainly isn’t going to happen until these camps leftover from past elections transcend themselves and try to connect with each other, regardless of historical antagonisms, and actually try to solve the problems the thoroughly corrupt system is clearly unable to solve for us.

      • myiq2xu says:

Start bad-mouthing Hillary and you won’t last long here either. We won’t have to ban you.

As I suggested earlier, you should check out The Confluence. It’s a pro-OWS PUMA blog.

      • gxm17 says:

christof, with all due respect, you must realize that you are taking a condescending tone toward people who were called “c*nts” and other similarly nasty and misogynistic terms by Obama supporters in 2008. Dialog? Give me an effing break. Transcend the doorknob and don’t let it hit you in the ass on the way out.

        • Guilty as charged, I guess. That’s how I tend to react to swarms.

But I really don’t want to make this about me vs. you all. That’s counterproductive for us all and these persistent schisms over *politicians* and *political campaigns* are too luxurious a distraction from what everyone needs to be doing now, which is finding a way out of the morass all of those politicians dumped us into.

        • NoEmptySuits says:

What gxm said (and said well).

        • Pips says:

“But I really don’t want to make this about me…”

LOL! Funny coming from someone whose use of “I”, “me” and “my” is quite … generous! 😆

      • NoEmptySuits says:

“It did work because I’m not going to post there anymore.”

        Hallelujah!

one little word “or” can make such a difference. The lack of it would allow insider trading for congress to continue to be legal

everyday backtrack finds a way to insult America. He should take his whole family and go live with grandma in Kenya.

I like JWS a lot. The radio shows are a hoot. While I do not agree with everything I find them thoughtful and funny. And I really like Tamerlane and recently started reading his blog True Liberal Nexus which I think is very good. Now back to work since I devoured my sandwich.
