GOP Master Debate 2011

The man in the back said everyone attack and it turned into a ball room blitz

Tonight at 6pm Pacific (9pm Zuccotti) FOX is airing what is allegedly the final GOP debate of 2011. For that we can be truly thankful. If you want a pretty good preview, go here.

I’m not going to live-blog it because it’s too much work and I don’t plan to stay sober that long watch the whole thing. I’ll be flipping back and forth between the debate and White Christmas.

The debate is on FOX, so no one can complain about the librul media playing gotcha. But FOX represents the GOP establishment, so Newt better watch his back.

The conventional wisdom is that Newt is dropping in the polls. That’s not surprising considering the all-out attack that’s been taking place the past week or so. Newt and Ron Paul have been around all year and now at the last minute people are remembering why they are bad candidates. I wonder why?

The fact is this whole year has been kabuki – a staged race with Mitt Romney the prearranged winner. That’s why TPTB worked so hard to keep Sarah out.

The problem is nobody likes Mitt except TPTB.

I’m voting for Captain Spaulding.

We certainly don’t want to “normalize” a “bias” to be gay!

I have never understood the blatant contradiction (& hypocrisy) of ‘conservatives’ who are hell bent on government staying out of people’s lives (except who you sleep with, what you do with your womb, who the state has a right to kill etc.).

It’s funny you say you’re voting for Captain Spaulding. Newt and him probably have a lot in common. So what makes one psychotic clown preferable to the other?

I’m teasing of course, but you provided a good analogy. I’d be quite happy to unleash Captain Spaulding on congress and I feel the same way about Newt Gingrich. This is the person that’s going to keep congress in check and reinvigorate the Dems so they wake up from their kool-aid induced stupor. If the goal is to wake up Dems and to give congress a hard time, then the more psychotic the clown, the better.

After five beers Newt’s and Mitt’s heads seem to have switched bodies. And it’s an improvement. Need more beer.

Ron Paul sounds more sane than the rest re: Iran

Anyone notice that Jon Huntsman, the Obot media’s favorite Republican, is not all that smart considering his credentials.

Funny how he misquoted the “I hope I’m the Tim Tebow….” to “I’m Tim Tebow…” Perry comment.

One thing that stood out for me in the debates was Michelle focusing on how Newt didn’t rid the Republican party of congressional members who were for “partial birth abortion”. Basically she was incredulous that Newt didn’t “purify” the party when he had the chance. Newt’s response was basically that he was a practical politician and he needed all the R’s he could get and purifying the party was not his job. That seemed to not make sense to Michelle. She was just beside herself with that issue. And to Newt it was a non issue. It will be interesting to see how that plays in IA, which can be extremely right on social issues.
