Fuck civility!

A little over a year ago a crazy man with a gun shot some people. Several of them died. If he had just been shooting up a post office or a school nobody would wonder about his political motivations. One of the downsides to living in the land of the free and the home of the brave is nutjobs with guns going on killing sprees.

Thankfully, even though we are all too familiar with the scenario, such killings are statistically rare. But even more rare in recent years is politically-motivated violence. In many countries bombings and assassinations are commonplace. Not here. Take away two particularly notorious incidents from recent years and political violence is insignificant in this country, both in terms of the number of incidents and the number of victims.

This blog owes it’s existence to one person’s insistence (despite all evidence to the contrary) that Sarah Palin and the Tea Party were responsible for the shooting last year in Tucson. When you make assertions that are contrary to objective fact, that’s called lying. When you believe things that are contrary to objective fact, that’s called being delusional.

Too many people think civility = STFU

  2. And speaking of delusional people, it’s amazing when some, even though they claimed to be anti-Obama, still jump right into a pro Obama astroturf cult group who’s pretty transparent purpose is to distract liberals and to work towards reelecting Obama. I guess when you’re already delusional, you might as well double down.

    • Anyone notice how if you assumed Romney would be the candidate, you’d want to build and setup a 1% vs. 99% meme early in the campaign. What a coincidence.

“If you tried the Koolaid you would know that OWS does not support Obama.”

No one said they were supporting Obama. I said they were helping Obama get reelected. Next November they will hold their noses and vote for him because Romney is Worse!™

      • Susan says:

Loathe Obama. Have reervations about the Occupy movement.

The 1% verus the 99% meme is real. Denying it is playing into the desires of plutocracy who whom Obama is now a member.

Didn’t someone just the other day on MSNBC bring up that whole Palin’s fault meme about the shooting? That’s seriously insane.

By the way, the Obama campaign was just using the target metaphor the other day I noticed. But of course that’s fine when they do it.

backtrack appeals to the worst in people.
He brings out envy, pettiness, and the feeling the that they are entitled without doing anything to earn.
He has made blaming others almost a national past time.
Every other president in my lifetime, whether or not I liked their policies tried to influence Americans to be the best they could be.

Backtrack has no redeeming values and therefore must make any opponent look to be guilty of being the same. His followers seem to be doing the same thing.

For about three weeks, the blame Palin for the psychopath shooter (who turned out to be a lefty truther) was huge in the blogosphere and social media. Huge…as intense and coordinated as any of the ugly Hillary or Sarah bashing from 2008. I’m still very curious who gave the order to Obot proggers to drive the meme. I’m guessing someone like Plouffe. This people are scum.

On the Daily Show skit, is that Harrop woman admitting she’s being a hypocrite or not? I can’t tell anymore with obots.
