Are you ready to rumble?

And then there were four.

Newt’s greatest strength has been his debate performances. Mitt is gonna be a tough sell in South Carolina, Ron Paul is there for comedy relief and if Rick Santorum was any stiffer they would put a condom on him.

What to watch for: How will Newt deal with questions about his ex-wife? He knows it’s coming. My guess is he’ll give a non-answer and scold the moderator for going there. His goal tonight is to knock out Santorum. If Newt is the only not-Romney left he wins (and we lose).

The fun (such as it is) will start at 5pm left coast time (8pm Atlantic) on CNN. The South Carolina primary is Saturday.

This is an open thread.

In the end there can be only one

Best answer Newt could give about that story.

People love when Newt slams Journolistas.

    • 1539days says:

Yeah, but I’m not sure that it was a non-answer. I suppose he could say yes or no, but people will thinki the answer is yes no matter what he say.

Actually, he just said it was not true as well

John King is getting the flamethrower tonight.

  7. myiq2xu says:

Newt is kicking John King’s ass.

  8. myiq2xu says:

    Weak answer by Santorum.

He should have said “No” and let it go.

    Santorum lost that round.

    Bonus points to Ron Paul

  21. 1539days says:

    Santorum got his Wheaties.

  22. myiq2xu says:

I love the way Mitt looks at Santorum while Rick speaks.

Like a teacher waiting for a smartass student to get finished so he can squash him.

  23. 1539days says:

Santorum’s flop sweat is coming in nicely.

  24. WMCB says:

Santorum always looks like a stick-up-his-ass pinch-faced scold to me, even when he’s being all nice and reasonable.

  25. 1539days says:

    LOL

Newt released his tax returns during the debate.

  26. 1539days says:

Santorum says he’s not flamboyant. That’s code for “all my opponents are gay.”

  30. 1539days says:

Romney: Vote for me! Because you have to.

Gingrich: Vote for me. You don’t know what I’m going to say next.

Santorum: Vote for me. I’ll attack my enemies the way I go after gays.

Paul: If you don’t vote for me, I’ll run third party anyway.

  31. Karma says:

Ruh roh…Newt takes credit for Mittens success…

  32. myiq2xu says:

    Mitt just stepped in it.

  33. 1539days says:

Mitt is getting caught up in this tax thing.

  34. WMCB says:

I actually agree with Santorum on this. We need JOBS worse than anything else. I say offer a sweet or even zero tax deal to manufacturers and big employers who stay here and hire here.

  35. Three Wickets says:

Man, Romney is really lame on this tax thing. Sounds slimy. Makes for a big target in the general, along with the Cayman thing, the Bain thing.

  36. 1539days says:

Santorum says the internet can’t just have anything on it.. That’s code for “all my opponents want gay internet porn.”

  37. 1539days says:

Santorum’s whispering thing was pretty cheezy.

  38. 1539days says:

Ron Paul is apparently in high demand. God, I hope he doesn’t run third party.
