Fake CNN email used as dirty trick in South Carolina

In what appears to be a last ditch attempt to halt Newt Gingrich’s late momentum in South Carolina, a fake CNN Breaking News alert was emailed to state Republican activists early Thursday morning claiming that the former House Speaker pressured his ex-wife to have an abortion.

CNN did not send out the email alert.

The email alert was sent from fake account made to look like a CNN breaking news email address: “”

“A source close to Marianne Gingrich tells CNN that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich forced her to abort a pregnancy conceived during the affair that preceeded her marriage to Gingrich,” the fake email reads.

Marianne Gingrich, who went public this week with charges that Gingrich once asked her for an “open marriage” while he was having an extramarital affair, has not made that claim.

“An ABC News interview with the Speaker’s ex-wife aired Thursday evening which detailed the candidate’s request for an open marriage and their subsequent divorce,” the fake email alert adds.

I don’t want to be pointing fingers, but it would be irresponsible not to speculate. The GOP invented ratfucking and one of the original practitioners of that dark art is still in business.

During the 2000 Republican presidential primary, Senator John McCain was the target of a whisper campaign implying that he had fathered a black child out of wedlock. (McCain’s adopted daughter is a dark-skinned child from Bangladesh). Voters in South Carolina were reportedly asked, “Would you be more likely or less likely to vote for John McCain if you knew that he fathered an illegitimate black child?”. McCain would later lose the South Carolina primary, and the nomination, to George W. Bush.

This particular individual is supporting the GOP establishment candidate, Mitt Romney. A win by Mitt tomorrow could well end the primary race. A win by Newt could signal a big upset.

Meanwhile, the guy that’s ratfucking our country…..

Would create about 200k trickle down jobs too. How’s that laser like focus working for Obama?

When I read that the first thing I thought of was the McCain “black baby” slur. I am getting really pissed off that these turds are making me want to defend Newt fucking Gingrich, the toad.

The turdblossom had better be careful, or he may just hand us a Newt presidency on a silver platter. Because even on the conservative blogs, I’m reading people basically saying, “I don’t even like or trust Newt, but if the GOP establishment doesn’t back off shoving Mittens down our throat, I may just vote for Gingrich out of a desire to tell them Fuck You.”

I will still vote ABO even if they show the GOP candidates killing kittens.

I think people in general are sick of the lopsided attacks while Obama intentionally does stupid stuff.

Oh, news blurb that Owies and unions (upset with Indiana’s Right to Work bid) to occupy the Super Bowl. If they’re not allowed IN the stadium, they’ll block traffic. Nice, huh?

He makes for a big fat target in the general.

Those glass tubes are probably worthless. We already know that Solyndra’s technology is highly expensive and not really efficient. They probably want to hide the fact that the technology is crap and Obama just paid them off for donating to his campaign.

    Chuck Norris endorsed Newt. LOL.

I think this is Democratic ratfucking. Obama Inc likes to pick his opponents and has already invested in the oppo and PR marketing dollars on running against Romney. He did this in every race he has ever run except the one against Bobby Rush for a Congressional seat. Also CNN was humiliated through their flunky by Newtie in the debate last night so they would not object to a scurrilous fake email in their name without a peep about pursuing fraud of who did it. Are Republicans capable of this shit? Sure but so are Obamacrats and the choice of “fake” email tips it to the CNN/NBC/Politico/NYT/Obama PR machine.

One of Frontline’s docs implied it was a radio ad Pres Clinton did in support of Bobby Rush which Obama blames for his loss to the well known candidate. As if Pres Clinton wouldn’t support the Dem incumbent but like you said about picking his opponents. I suspect the loss was due to a lack of divorce records to smear Bobby Rush with. He can’t handle a real campaign with a strong opponent.

Anyway, a case could be made for the Chicago team and that Texan working together. Florida did help in passing the ball to both teams – Bush II and Bush III.
