She’s a lesbian!

Seriously.

Ellen DeGeneres Rips One Million Moms’ Anti-Gay Boycott, Thanks JC Penney Partnership Supporters

Though she claims not to pay attention to her haters, Ellen DeGeneres nonetheless has addressed an anti-gay organization’s plea to have her fired as the new spokesperson for JC Penney.

On an episode of her show today, DeGeneres speaks at length about the online boycott launched by OneMillionMoms.com, a division of the American Family Association, who have pressed the retail chain to replace the talk show host because she is a lesbian.

“They wanted to get me fired, and I’m proud and happy to say that JCPenney stuck by their decision to make me their spokesperson,” she says. “Which is great news for me because I also need some new crew socks.”

I’ve never been a huge fan of Ellen but this kind of stuff is ridiculous.

Maybe if some of these people would stop worrying about someone else’s sex life and worried about the real issues and problems of this country right now, things could get fixed.

I do not give a damn about another’s sex life , it is not mine.

I do give a damn that in 6 months S&P may lower the credit rating of this country again.
I do give a damn that the Constitution is being trampled upon by the backtrack bunch every day.
I do give a damn that I see people hurting because of lack of jobs and the fact that the economy sucks.

    end of rant

I’m am proud to say I’m NOT part of the One Million Moms Haters (which I’m sure is only about 50 of them)

Love Ellen, have been a fan of hers since her early standup days and her sitcom which made history……her comedy is never mean spirited…

I get my hair cut, colored and anything else they can think to do to it at the local Penney salon. All of the best work there. Why do they work there? They get a salary with benefits. They have a waiting list for potential hairdressers of about 20 years. None of them ever quit and they are booked solid every day for every hour. No one is going to leave their hairdresser because of a idiot boycott.

I sent JCPenny an email last week in support of their standing behind Ellen. They got back to me within a day thanking me. I am 45 and have not been in one of their stores in 25 years. i went in the other day and dropped some cash. Well priced and one stop shopping. Seemed to me like a high end Kmart. I’d love to see them come out with a utilitarian clothes line. Cardhart on a budget and call it dyke. I would buy. Love those industrial type pants that are not easy to find.

I did not learn how to drive when I was 16 because I didn’t want to pretend to go on dates.Even so I worked the max hours after school and on my days off I lied to my parents and said I was going out with friends. Hid by myself in the woods and read books. Back then i just didn’t want to hurt them and I was suffocating from shame.
i love Ellen because maybe one kid somewhere will not endure the pain i did because of her courage,

Thanks for sharing that. It’s frick’ing rough out there. Glad you made it through. As they say, it gets better.

Awww! Makes me want to hug that kid that you were.

Does that mean she’s over the dog adoption controversy now?

A rather quiet boy that I knew in high school killed himself a few days after graduation. Since I’ve become aware of the absolute torture that so many gay teens still endure trying to come to terms with their sexuality, I’ve wondered if that might have been the reason that this sweet boy committed suicide.

Brava Ellen and JCP. If having a lesbian as the face of an American retail institution helps one gay kid get through another day, their ad campaign is a success.

  8. Three Wickets says:

Good for Ellen and JCP. In other news, CNN has suspended Roland Martin for making fun of gays in some tweets. Donna Brazile has come to his defense. I get so confused.

    • DandyTiger says:

Wow. That amazing. He’s been doing that sort of crap for a long time. What finally woke them up I wonder.

      • myiq2xu says:

Technically, he wasn’t making fun of gays.

        • Three Wickets says:

Perhaps. But his views have been clear in the past, and a CNN colleague posted his writing on facebook yesterday.

But for Christians, going to church is not supposed to be a feel good exercise. We are expected to be convicted, and encouraged to walk away from sin and live a more Christ-like life. In my church, this goes for the woman who is an alcoholic, the child who continues to be disobedient to his parents, the young lady who is hell-bent on stealing, and the person who is gay.

          • myiq2xu says:

            live a more Christ-like life.

Someone should point out to Roland that Jesus was in his mid-thirties, never married and hung out with a bunch of men all the time.

        • Lulu says:

Thanks for the quote Three Wickets. So we now know that Roland is a part of an anti-gay church which has anti-gay as one of its tenets. This makes whatever hateful garbage they choose to say OK until they get caught and their job is endangered. FYI both of his parents are community organizers in Houston. I asked politely once of some political types there what they do exactly and no one could tell me. That is part of the reason why I came to the conclusion that community organizer is term of art meaning doesn’t do much of anything.

  9. DandyTiger says:

And as for Ellen and JCP, we have Ron Johnson of evil Apple retail stores to thank for that. Yep, I couldn’t resist. Ron has a hell of a job in front of him to transform JCP, but I have a feeling he can do it.

Years ago i was working at a restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh and we had to yell coming out when we came through the swinging doors. Ellen was doing a show at the theater across the street so the place was packed with women and when I yelled coming out I got a standing ovation

I watch Ellen every day at 4pm unless she has Michelle Obama on.
    Ellen took Oprah’s old slot.
    Boo hoo. NOT!
