Ronald Reagan Was a Man Whore

According to what I’ve been reading the past few days any woman who has sex outside of marriage is a promiscuous slut. So what’s that make Reagan? He remains our only divorced president, but even worse when he was 38 years old he deflowered an innocent virgin who was less than half his age. And no, they weren’t married.

He also wrote this to another girlfriend:

“My personal belief is that God couldn’t create evil so the desires he planted in us are good and the physical relationship between a man and a woman is the highest form of companionship. If I can, I want to say all this to my daughter. I want her to know that nothing between her and the man she loves can be wrong or obscene, that desire in itself is normal and right… The world is full of lonely people ? people capable of giving happiness and love is not a magic touch of cosmic dust that preordains two people and two people only for each other.”

Sounds like a line to me.

If we’re gonna slut-shame women then fair is fair. Ronald Reagan isn’t the only man whore out there. Newt Gingrich is a man whore. So is Rush Limbaugh. According to the Bible so is every single man who ever looked at a woman (or another man) with lust in his heart.

Yes, I am ashamed of myself.

BTW – Rush and his Dittoheads are obsessed with all the sex that Sandra Fluke is supposedly having. Why aren’t they concerned about the man whore(s) having sex with Sandra Fluke?

“Then up he rose, and donn’d his clothes,
And dupp’d the chamber-door;
Let in the maid, that out a maid
Never departed more.”

Am I alone in not caring about my elected officials sex lives? I care more about my elected official voting in a manner that reflects the wishes/interests of the constituents who put elected him/her. Hypocrisy has for me become so mundane. They all are. If the footsy player in the men’s room was representing my interests what do I care if he is gay or closeted. See little if any difference between someone who claims to be the greenest president ever but has used more fossil fuel in the last three years than I and ten of my closest friends will use in our lives. So whatever the congress critter was who had a wide stance. Big fucking deal if he voted in accordance of what was expected by the citizens who put him in office. I am far more offended by the fact that my retired parents are worried about their utilities, groceries and the price of gas than I ( a gay man) am about some closeted guy. Do not find WJC even remotely attractive but I’d do a number on a cigar to get those days back

      You are not alone!

I am now of the thought that the guy who is head of the RNC is a borderline criminal genius or a complete ass. No way saint torem could have gotten this far nor Ron Paul without the help of the DNC. Throw in Gingrich add a little tea party candidate then let the media stew and find out that x candidate I am going to vote for the person who can provide a world that is safe for my little girl

LOL! I always thought that if we taught kids about the sex lives of our elected officials, they’d choose to remain abstinent a lot more. I mean, I’m a bit older so reading about the sex life of Reagan or Clinton doesn’t gross me out, but I think a 16 year old would be really horrified to discover that “old” people have sex too.

Why aren’t they concerned about the man whore(s) having sex with Sandra Fluke?

Because men sow oats, but women are sluts. It’s basic sexism. Coverage for Viagra and Lipitor is good, coverage for women’s reproductive health is bad.

I’m proud to be a man whore. There, I said it. 🙂

Nice to see more noticing the same problem with a few asshole commentators on the other side. Sounds like a good teachable moment. 🙂

Yes, it’s true. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Bill Maher, Matt Taibbi, and Ed Schultz have been waging it for years with their misogynist outbursts. There have been boycotts by people on the left who are outraged that these guys still have jobs. Oh, wait. Sorry, that never happened.

Let it be shouted from the rooftops that Rush Limbaugh should not have called Ms. Fluke a slut or, as he added later, a “prostitute” who should post her sex tapes. It’s unlikely that his apology will assuage the people on a warpath for his scalp, and after all, why should it? He spent days attacking a woman as a slut and prostitute and refused to relent. Now because he doesn’t want to lose advertisers, he apologizes. What’s in order is something more like groveling—and of course a phone call to Ms. Fluke—if you ask me.

But if Limbaugh’s actions demand a boycott—and they do—then what about the army of swine on the left?

This is not to suggest that liberals—or feminists—never complain about misogyny. Many feminist blogs now document attacks on women on the left and the right, including Jezebel, Shakesville, and the Women’s Media Center (which was cofounded by Steinem). But when it comes to high-profile campaigns to hold these men accountable—such as that waged against Limbaugh—the real fury seems reserved only for conservatives, while the men on the left get a wink and a nod as long as they are carrying water for the liberal cause.

After all, if Limbaugh’s outburst is part of the “war on women,” then what is the routine misogyny of liberal media men?

It’s time for some equal-opportunity accountability. Without it, the fight against media misogyny will continue to be perceived as a proxy war for the Democratic Party, not a fight for fair treatment of women in the public square.

Taibbi is pretty good when the topic doesn’t involve women but I could live without any of them.

      • DandyTiger says:

Same here. Funny thing is, I expect this crap from the right because they have had this thing about monitoring the bedroom for years. Well, part of them. The libertarian / fiscal conservative side doesn’t as much. But liberals are supposed to be about lifting up women and minorities, watching out for the underserved, the oppressed. Turns out to be crap. It’s all tribal.

Not that this is new from what we’ve seen over the last 4 years or so, but it doesn’t get less irritating for some reason.

    • T says:

Well Kristen, the Republican establishment has just as much a right to go after these Democratic idiots as the Democrats do about Rush…but they don’t.

Democrats don’t care about THEIR tribe’s misogyny.
      Republicans don’t care about ANYBODY’s misogyny….

I sometimes think the far right makes some sense
I am a 45 year old gay man who grew up in a Catholic home. I find men dancing on the street to be bacchanalian and in many ways irresponsible. I adore a 5.5 year old and I have had zero need to express any sense that i was a homosexual. She doesn’t need to know anything about sex. Well I am an idiot. We went to the museum and had to take two buses after the first we were stuck in place from which I had to carry a 5.5 year old through a gay parade.
Call me Elizabeth Hasselbech if you will but I see no reason why on apublic street men or women should be allowed to parade overt sexuality.
I hope noone who reads this has to ever explain an erection to a five.five year old. I am gay and I pray I handled it well but really don’t the gay extravaganzas in every major city sort of hurt the cause. I mean how do you yell take me seriously and have the same groups expressing offensive gay or straight sexuality?

    • DandyTiger says:

Nothing like having to explain sexual things to someone very young. Best to keep things very simple, and a bit silly. Because in the end, they really don’t want to know that much.

I don’t know, sex and nudity are natural. Some cultures do it pretty openly, even with kids around. It’s no big deal. But I guess in our culture it’s pretty taboo, so it’s a bit shocking to see. And in that context, I agree, people could behave a little better. But at the same time, we need adult events too. We can’t always be “thinking of the children”.

You sound very conciseness, so I’m sure you handled that well.

      • timothy2010 says:

You do not get a lot of options when it comes to kids
I cannot believe I made it through almost five years. I am a great gay uncle and I quit it all my whole life when I once walked into a daycare center and so this little girl to a look back at me. It was an awful place and I had only met her twice in passing as she is my grand niece. Anyhow she never went back to day care after that day. I’d love to say I was so giving but thats not how it works. I could not have ever stepped away from that little person. Now she is almost 6 and she asks me why I am not married. Little brat tells me(we bicker all the time) that she loves me and I just need to find my princess. What do you tell a kid?

        • DandyTiger says:

Probably keep references gender neutral until the time is right. She’ll figure it out before long I’d guess.

    • timothy2010 says:

Lie– I care about a little one and I often think when, how will I tell her I am gay. Sad because I don’t see any need to approach any of it. Do not get why our relationship should be anything but great uncle/best friend.

    DandyTiger
Just ache wish she had been into that world where there were no such considerations.
She doesn’t have(so far) a mom or a dad, She has a great gay uncle and great grand parents.
I get it when she slips up and calls me dad. And trust me I have been reenacting every disney ever made forever.
Wow just had a thought(my first) little girl is healthy and significantly obnoxious. She laughs, top of her class and has a way to wierd sense of irony
I just hope pray that she can always go to sleep as she did when she was so little. Thank you.

I really hate that aspirin joke that seems to making it’s rounds again! Women are allegedly supposed to put an aspirin between their knees. Hardy har har.

I really believe that the aspirin should be used as a painkiller for all the do it yourself vasectomies that some of these guys need. She should just keep her legs shut? Well perhaps you should try having sex with a cocktail fork sticking in your…..okay , I’ll shut up now : )

  10. Reagan has a legacy so distorted by the Conservative idolization of him that we may never have a clear picture of the real man behind the television set beyond the elaborate myth now concocted around him. Did he really rid the world of commie scum? Did destroy or save our economy? Check out my portrait of The Gipper in commemoration of the Reagan Centennial and help me figure it out on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/02/happy-100th-gipper.html
