It doesn’t matter

It doesn’t matter that Sandra Fluke is a Democrat. It doesn’t matter that Bristol and Sarah Palin are Republicans. And it doesn’t matter which parties Rush Limbaugh and Bill Maher belong to either.

It doesn’t matter who has the larger audience, which one has been doing the longest or who is the funniest. It is irrelevant who started it or whether they are talking about public figures or private citizens. It doesn’t matter whether the person doing it is male or female.

That’s what matters.

Stop doing it. Stop making excuses for it. Stop tolerating it.

Strong, long 7.6 quake shakes Mexico City

MEXICO CITY — A strong, long 7.6 earthquake with an epicenter in Guerrero state shook central southern Mexico on Tuesday, swaying buildings in Mexico City and sending frightened workers and residents into the streets.

The U.S. Geological Survey set the intensity at 7.6 and said the epicenter was 11 miles underground. Mexico’s National Seismological Survey said the temblor had an epicenter southwest of Ometepec and was felt strongly in Oaxaca.

The Loma Prieta quake was only 6.9

Mexico City is built on a lake bed that shakes like jello in a quake.

You know why the politicians like to incite misogyny? SEXism sells. Nothing like getting fired up with the prospect of putting an uppity gal or two in her place to get pigs to the polls.

Let’s hope she holds it. I don’t have a lot of faith in Massachusetts voters. It’s hard for women to get a fair shake up there in the civilized north.

Good advice. Unfortunately it’s happening at such a high frequency, it’s difficult to oppose it all. Especially when androcentric points of view like this dominate. I mean, WTF?

Newt gets the last word in often, and it’s usually the best as well.

Thanks for just putting it so plainly Crawdad, good post!
