This is all too familiar:

Obama To Deliver Barnard Commencement Address

After the presidential campaign has been focusing on female reproductive rights and other women’s issues, President Barack Obama is coming to the city Monday to deliver the commencement address at all-female Barnard College and attend two high-profile fundraisers.

Arriving in the city late Monday morning, the president is slated to deliver the commencement address before 600 Barnard graduates at 1 p.m.

The original scheduled speaker, New York Times Executive Editor Jill Abramson, agreed to step aside to allow the president to headline the event.

So he invites himself to the event, pushing aside the distinguished Barnard alum who was already scheduled to address the graduates and guests. Then he’s gonna give a campaign speech that will probably be written by Jon “Groper” Favreau. Any bets on whether Obama mentions Lilly Ledbetter?

Obama is speaking at Barnard, a college for women. This is the same guy who, as senator, paid his women staffers less than he paid men. This is the same guy who ran the “99 Problems But a Bitch Ain’t One” campaign against Hillary. This is the same guy who referred to Sarah Palin as a “pig with lipstick.” This is the same guy who signed an executive order banning the use of federal funds for abortion. The list goes on.

But wait! There’s more:

After the commencement, Obama is heading to the Rubin Museum of Art in Chelsea for a $5,000-a-ticket fundraiser co-hosted by the LGBT Leadership Council and openly gay singer Ricky Martin.

The president will also attend a private, $35,800-a-plate fundraising dinner featuring the cooking of Manhattan chef Vikas Khanna before heading back to the White House.

While in the city, Obama will tape an interview with the TV show “The View.” It will be his fourth appearance on the show, and his second as president.

That’s a pretty busy day. Too bad there isn’t any presidentin’ on the schedule.

The worst part? The tax-payers are gonna get stuck with the tab for most of this trip.

BTW – Ricky Martin is gay?

And funnily enough, even with his new found gayness, gay marriage will not be a subject even mentioned in the Democratic platform this year.

Why are they horning in on commencement addresses? Michelle did it and now the One. I thought Prezzies and Vice Prezzies would do one or two a year as a standard practice like at one of the service academies every year. This looks like they turned all invitations down because they did not want to do them (too mundane and boring for such important glamorous world leaders) , and need some quick free publicity NOW for polling. Inviting yourself, shoving someone else who is probably more deserving aside is just tacky and desperate.

And he codified the conscience clause. What a guy.

How kind of Barnard for providing a nice backdrop for another Obama campaign speech. I wonder if he’ll wear his Superfeminist flight suit.

    Obama’s Wall Street problem

The giant $2 billion trading loss at JPMorgan Chase highlights a central problem in President Barack Obama’s case for a second term: Four years after the financial crisis nearly brought the nation to its knees, very little appears to have changed.

No high-profile bank executives are in jail. Special multi-agency task forces to go after financial fraud and mortgage market abuses appeared in State of the Union addresses, only to issue a few news releases and mostly vanish from public view.

And now one of the largest banks in the United States, headed by a Democrat and operating with government guarantees, has turned in the kind of headline-grabbing, casino-style style loss that drives voters crazy and that Obama’s financial reform bill was supposed to stop.

I’m sure OWS will be on this any minute now.

For some reason when they get to the depressing no-jobs pix, what pops into my head is – so Romney did a mini version of what Obama is doing to the whole country?
Is it just me or does it seem like another exploding cigar when the Dems attack Mitt for destroying jobs?

      • myiq2xu says:

Unlike Obama, Bain Capital had a net gain in jobs created.

        • votermom says:

Oopsie… looks like Mitt had left Bain before GST went bankrupt, but a top Obama bundler was still there.

        • wmcb says:

@votermom – Yep. The Obama campaign has been called out on this before. They keep touting failed companies that failed long after Mitt had left Bain.

        • wmcb says:

Mitt needs to call out Obama and say, “President Obama has a funny concept of time. He thinks he should not be held accountable for the 4 years that he has been in charge of the economy, but I should be held accountable for the actions of Bain 2 years after I left.”

        • myiq2xu says:

          That’s consistent – he’s still blaming Bush 3 1/2 years later.

        • wmcb says:

LMAO! It gets better. Mitt was not at Bain when that steel plant went under, but guess who was?

Lavine, according to the Los Angeles Times, is a top Obama bundler and a managing director at Bain Capital. Lavine, who has raised over $100,000 for the president, was at the firm when GST Steel declared bankruptcy.

The women of Barnard will swoon for their feminist saviour…the more of these he does, the more swooning…same with The View.

I struggle with the idea that a talk show hosted by mostly women old enough to be their mothers is the #1 daytime show for women 18-34. Elisabeth Hasselbeck in the only woman on the show under 40.

Smart young women swooning over him.,,..what a depressing thought. Clearly born with no emotional radar at all. Just his body language alone screams manipulative misogynist, the very air around him throws off bad vibrations & they can’t pick it up? Ugh.

    LOLing at the last line:

As if Newsweek’s latest “Obama The Gay Archangel” cover wasn’t enough, yesterday, Newsweek columnist Michelle Goldberg spoke out against the scourge of motherhood on MSNBC’s Up with Chris Hayes. She attacked Ann Romney for talking about the glories of being a mom – on Mother’s Day, no less – by comparing her with Hitler and Stalin:
You know, yes, motherhood is beautiful. I found that phrase ‘the crown of motherhood’ really kind of creepy, not just because of its, like, somewhat you know, I mean, it’s kind of usually really authoritarian societies that give out like The Cross of Motherhood, that give awards for big families. You know, Stalin did it, Hitler did it.
What was Ann Romney’s dastardly “crown of motherhood” phrase? Here’s the full context, from Romney’s piece in USA Today:
Cherish your mothers. The ones who wiped your tears, who were at every ball game or ballet recital. The ones who believed in you, even when nobody else did, even when maybe you didn’t believe in yourself.
Women wear many hats in their lives. Daughter, sister, student, breadwinner. But no matter where we are or what we’re doing, one hat that moms never take off is the crown of motherhood.
There is no crown more glorious.

Next thing you know, Ann Romney will be invading Poland.
