Summer Weekend Open Thread

For some lucky people this is that rare occurrence – the 5-day weekend.

Matt “Big Sugar” Cain is about to take the mound at AT&T Park against the Cincinnati Reds.

Let’s par-tay! (I can’t drink, so you’ll have to do it for me.)

on the news they are talking about backtrack going to the Colorado fire. Touring by car and helo. photo op and short speech. Isn’t that nice. What they are NOT saying is that he is on his way to LA for a fundraiser. The taxpayer will get stuck with the bill again

Michelle Malkin has a great article – for those that don’t know – her family has been one of the evacuees – they lost a parakeet – she talks about asshole having not even spoken to the Governor for over 2 weeks and how the services to help respond to the event were cut out as we had to pay for failing Green Company boondogles instead … Just another photo-op….

Well this is just grand. College students hacked a DHS drone, after DHS said no way they could.

A group of researchers led by Professor Todd Humphreys from the University of Texas at Austin Radionavigation Laboratory recently succeeded in raising the eyebrows of the US government. With just around $1,000 in parts, Humphreys’ team took control of an unmanned aerial vehicle owned by the college, all in front of the US Department of Homeland Security.

After being challenged by his lab, the DHS dared Humphreys’ crew to hack into a drone and take command. Much to their chagrin, they did exactly that.

Okay, maybe the best summer song evah. You know you’re good when you can show up the Beatles. This is the extended version, which is superior in my opinion.

I do love this version of this song.

Every time Jimmy Buffet comes to the Boston area, my “baby brother” and I ditch our families, dress up silly, and head for the party. Fenway Park was by far the best. Little Brother is convinced Buffet “reversed the curse”.
