I am not speaking to you over this, Klown. Breaking Bad season 1 and 2 have sucked up my entire weekend.

It’s raining in front of my house, but not in the back. It’s not that big a house.

Watching Bryan Cranston on Malcolm in the Middle is like watching Larry Hagman in old I Dream of Jeannie episodes after watching Dallas.

They don’t seem so goofy and harmless anymore.

Political Animals up next on USA. 🙂

Something I’ve wanted to ask here for a long time . . . I am a Clinton Dem – former Dem as of 2008 – now a registered Independent. Everyone here can relate to that. What I don’t understand is the great love by some here of Palin. I thought she was a great Governor of Alaska – wish she had finished out her term. I voted for McCain/Palin. However, I personally don’t think she’s Presidental material and feel she gets too much air time and attention.

The cool thing about this place is everyone is free to disagree.

    • elliesmom says:

If you think she gets too much attention, then don’t pay attention to her. If no one pays attention to her, then she’ll go away. But if enough people disagree with you about her being “Presidential material”, then she’s young enough to be around for a long time.

      • cameoanne says:

I don’t pay much attention to her, but I do read about her quite abit here. It was just a curiosity question – that’s all.

        • myiq2xu says:

A lot of people here like her. She is smart and charismatic. She’s a reformer. She’s a bona fide populist. She’s a wild card in politics. She drives Obots insane.

OTOH she’s weak on experience and she talks funny. She didn’t go to a fancy university.

          • DandyTiger says:

She’s clearly not from the political class. What business does she have being involved in politics or political media?

What I like about her most is how the political class from the media and from each party are scared shitless of her. That alone is enough to like her and to want her to keep pushing their buttons.

She seems to be especially toxic to limousine liberals. That’s the best part of course.

          for me
I love that she gets in backtrack’s head. She says what many think.
Also raising kids and working in a so-called man’s world , I can relate to her.
From what I read she did a good job as governor of Alaska. She stood up and is still standing after some of the most vicious attacks that any person in this country ever had aimed at them.
Funny thing how the women get attacked and still stand but are called the weaker sex.

Why buy one when you can build one? Electromagnets are basic science. I piece of iron wrapped in a copper coil. Run electricity through the wire and bingo!

Hillary went to meet the bastard Muslim Brotherhood leaders in Egypt today & “protesters” pelted her motorcade with tomatoes & shoes and chanted “Monica, Monica.” Fuck the “Arab Spring.”

I loooooooved it. Loved it. Oh my, the evolution of ______ is amazing and awful. Best show on TV.

    • myiq2xu says:

Much more detailed than the evolution of Michael Corleone. Last season gave us a glimpse into the evolution of Gus Fring too.

Most shows depict characters as the are, a few show you how they got that way. BB let’s you see it happen.

  13. JohnSmart says:

And can we talk about how well the damn thing is directed. And written. And acted. It’s weird but Breaking Bad gives me hope. Quality still matters.

    • myiq2xu says:

My favorite character is Hector “Tio” Salamanca. Except for a few flashback scenes he never speaks a word but he plays a major role. He expresses himself with his eyes and by ringing a bell.

He is played by Mark Margolis. Dude deserves an award for that performance.

So last night I decided, after much bullying by my sister – and reminders of what a slug I am for not watching BB by many in the blogosphere, to stream BB on netflix. I only watched the pilot episode, and it was too late to watch any more. i went to the bedroom, turned on the teevee to catch the weather for today, and AMC was the channel that was on. It was the premeier of this new season of BB. lol

I didn’t watch for more than 3 minutes, but I recognized some of the characters immediately. I will prolly be in front of the teevee for the rest of my vacation streaming this show (darn it) so I can watch the new season (and be like everyone else).

It was the same story with The Wire – which is so far the very best teevee I have ever seen. Again, it was my sister and a very young, very smart colleague of mine who finally convinced me to rent that series.

I think I need to be less rigid about joining “the club” when it comes to tv shows. You guys know good tv when you see it. I’ll have to listen better.
