I tweeted and RD’eeted over in the cheap seats 😀 Noticed an uptick on RomDems today, could it have been from Drudge’s favorite WHD where I left a link to FB RD ? Nice people so far from today, I’m just sooo disappointed in the “Dems” who drop in to troll. Bullies, everyone of them. Not that I get tired of being told to STFU, heh.

    • Your link helped, I’m sure, but I also made the rounds at about 12 FB pages in support of Romney today and left links letting them know I was adding them to our featured favorites. Between the two of us it resulted in 9 new members! Yay us! 😀

OT: Holmes failed his oral exam then bought a rifle the same day in June…and his psychiatrist already considered him a threat:

Tried to listen, Annabelle, but when Jay started spewing his BS about feminists and drag queens, my computer was endangered. I think I need a vacation from the folks at John’s place.

    • I understand, elliesmom. I thought he was an a**hole about it, quite frankly, even though I agreed with his assessment of drag queens. He didn’t have to be a douche.

      • elliesmom says:

John’s comment about the only thing wrong with Bill Maher’s misogyny is that he’s not funny enough didn’t sit very well either. I was at a fundraiser for Dana Farber a few weeks ago, and a couple of gay guys spent the entire evening making fun of a lesbian couple sitting near them who they had never met before. Most of the gay men I know are sympathetic to women, but then they’re my age. John surprised me tonight.

        • There is a thread of misogyny running through the gay male line, it’s very evident to me. But I agree with John that Maher is not funny. Where I disagree with him is that Maher tries to be. I don’t think he does. I think he makes people laugh because they are uncomfortable with a short little pipsqueak pulling a bully routine. And because he articulates their own biases.

I listened until you were done (no offense to John – I like him; I just had to go). I defended Drag Queens as skewering society’s perception on “feminine ideal” and, thus, aren’t sexist or mysoginistic. Nonetheless Jay’s comments pissed me off too — especially calling those who disagree with him “cowards” because we’re anonymous — uh “inLA” isn’t Jay’s last name either. Also, besides the fact that I respect people’s right to disagree with me about Draf Queens (as I wrote at John’s drag is suppossed to be offensive) I took exception to Jay’s derisive attitude toward “feminsts” — he said it as if he was saying “child molesters.” I stuck it out to hear you but I almost called in (comment box didn’t work for me) but I didn’t want to get in a fight over it.
Also. elliesmom, I don’t think John was defending Maher’s sexism — I think he was saying he isn’t *even* funny (i.e. If he was actually funny it would be something else — a comment on society ala Lenny Bruce, etc– but because it isn’t, it’s *just* angry sexism). That’s how I took it, anyway.

      • I wish you had called in Angie. I didn’t get a chance to respond, as that wasn’t really wasn’t I was supposed to be on about, but I was hoping someone would push back.

Making excuses for men we like is something women have to get over. Because nearly every man in this world has some women who like him and will defend him. John was an ass last night, and Jay is probably an ass every everyday. I went to school with and for most of my professional life worked with mostly men, many of who were gay. But , I must admit, how they felt about drag queens never came up in conversation. Maybe because most of the other people in the room were straight guys and not the women they were making fun of. One of the things that was perfectly clear is that men need a pecking order. When you think that you’re at the bottom of the man-heap, gay or straight, there’s always women to direct your anger at. Like I said, I need a vacation from John.

Your comment is so right on, it deserves more than a thumbs up. It’s really sad how little it takes to scratch through to the misogyny under the liberal male veneer.

    Nice show. Great job!

    • Well, all part of the show, I suppose. The press has no idea how much their insider games will hurt Obama. Romney will be handed a mandate to govern effectively AND tell the press to kiss his a** every day of his presidency.

      • Anthony says:

        That’s all they’ve got? A report card?!

Either this is going to be too easy, or its a great set-up….

Just got in after a long day, and going to listen to the show. Sounds like it was a bit… lively?

        • angienc says:

High School Freshman report card — so we’re talking the report card of a 12 to 13 year old BOY here. I’m telling you my brother (who is very smart and is now a successful civil/environmental engineer –graduated with honors from Tulane) was making Cs Freshman year of high school because he didn’t want to study, so Mitt’s is pretty good. Boys don’t start cracking books until they’re a little older in my experience (I taught Jr year English Lit at an all boys school for 2 years before going to law school). For example, Mitt has a C in French, but he is fluent now — I heard a clip of him speaking French during his time at the Olympics (most Olympic stuff is done in English (the language of business) & French — the “language of diplomacy”).

        • Anthony says:

God, angienc, could they be more desperate?

        • angienc says:

Sadly, Anthony, I’m sure they can & will. Hard for us to imagine but they’re running with “some guy told Harry Reid Mitt didn’t pay taxes for 10 years; his dead dad must be turning over in his grave” and could *any* decent person have thought a US Senator would not only misrepresent the legal burden of proof on the Senate floor but go there with the dead dad?

    • votermom says:

And still they can’t find out anything about Obama’s college records? Tsk tsk tsk…

  7. votermom says:

Sort of related to the CFA bully – obots online are out of control.
Check out the comments on a video of a 6yo saying why not to vote for Obama:

    • Jesus, I would never put a six year old up to this, but the Sandusky comments are waaaaay over the line. This is what the left has been reduced to? Hoping for child rape because they don’t like the message? WTF?

  8. You can sleep in, klown. I’ve got a post scheduled for the morning.

  9. mothy67 says:

I support CFA, but I have to say I resent reading that gay men hate women. Not true

    • If you’re responding to my comment, I don’t think it’s universally true, but there is a thread of it in some gay men. The Andrew Sullivan types.

    • angienc says:

It isn’t true that gay men hate women (and that has *never* been my experience growing up as a female in a city that is 2nd only to San Francisco in the size of its gay community on a per capita basis) & that isn’t what Lola said. Some gay men are sexist/anti-woman though. Where I disagree with Lola is that I think it is more a case-by-case/individual thing specific to the man in question (like Andrew Sullivan) just like not all straight men are sexist, but some definitely are. Gay men who have that same sexism as Andrew Sullivan like/support/read him — Lola would say that’s a thread of sexism in the gay male community; I’d say that’s just like attracting like, such as flies to shit.

    • Lulu says:

That is a very interesting nugget of info. You can estimate where he is polling the worst. Ohio and Florida have ad buys that are enormous. Nevada’s ad buy is very large also for a relatively small population state and may be part of the reason Harry Reid is freaked out and shooting his mouth off. Iowa, New Hampshire (bleed over into other markets because it is a cheaper market maybe?), and Virginia is terrible. And having to sink $7.6 million into ads into the state in which they are about to have their national convention with wall to wall local coverage in NC is simply awful. This indicates the crap polling being released through the press are lies. If what the public is being told was true he would not need to do this.

    • gxm17 says:

UFB. First, the fools running his campaign oversaturated every possible medium. Now they’re going to throw more money into more ads and make people even sicker of their feckless leader’s face. People are tuning Obama out, the best tactic isn’t to shout at them louder and longer, it’s to stop shouting. Ah, well, at least it’s somewhat amusing to watch, in a keystone cops kinda way.
