Pass me that bucket, please!

Marker placed at Hyde Park shopping center where Obamas shared first kiss

She was an attorney at a big Chicago law firm. He was a Harvard Law student who landed a job there as a summer associate. He was immediately smitten. She wasn’t so sure. But he won her over, and the couple sealed their budding romance with a kiss at the Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop in Hyde Park.

Strangely enough there is nothing marking the place where I lost my virginity except a sign that says “Do Not Feed The Animals”.

I’m watching The Hunger Games on DVD. (I’m really splurging with my money this month)

I just finished watching “The Hunger Games” via amazon streaming on my TV with the Roku. Great movie!

I went to the theater with a bunch of teens. It was interesting, because all us “old folks” were in tears and the kids totally didn’t get why. Kids just don’t understand fascism and death, thank goodness.

It was kind of fun watching all the kids come out of the theater begging their parents to stop embarrassing them. Adults don’t often get the opportunity to turn the tables.

      • myiq2xu says:

Since you can’t beat your kids any more you have to find alternative ways to discipline them. Humiliation works wonders.

Driving your teens to school while wearing a bathrobe and curlers is practically child abuse.

Mark Halperin: ‘The Media Is Very Susceptible to Doing What the Obama Campaign Wants’

    • angienc says:

It’s not even an important issue about “transparency” as he claims at the end — poor Mark, still has to cover for Obama even when he is being *mostly* truthful. Habit, I suppose.

    • Lizzy says:

Every time the Obamacrats complain about Romney’s taxes I think of Obama’s birth certificate (poor baby can’t decide where he was born), his college records, his medical records. He has too much information locked away to trash Romney on taxes.

    • swanspirit says:

Yes, it was simply a coincidence that the MSNBC slogan is Lean Forward and the Obama campaign slogan is Forward; a coincidence I tell you

The machinations behind the debates schedule is interesting. They got Lehrer to do it again with a revised format. Obama nixed Fox and Romney nixed MSNBC. Since Lehrer was already agreed, the three biggies could not each have a debate so none of them got one. No one gave a crap who did the VP one so Ms.Radish-head got it. Gwen Ifill thought she had a lock since Lehrer retired but she is still third string (and was pissy about it). Schieffer gets another one before he fully mummifies and Candy Crowley gets to do a town hall extravaganza and clump around with a microphone wearing a muumuu.

Meh, up the road a bit, we have Stonewall Jackson’s arm buried. That’s way cooler than a First Kiss monument 😀

The perfect response to the ridiculousness of marking the “historic” location of BO’s/MO’s first kiss. Kevin Dujan and Megan Fox of HillBuzz launch grassroots campaign to place markers nationwide where BO had gay trysts. Yes! Thank goodness Kevin’s back at his wonderful blog!

    • DeniseVB says:

So glad to see Kevin back in form too. Loved his letter to Rush about the gay agitators provoking hate speak against the Christian religions.

Kisses…..Virginity? Among the lot of you, I’m the only person whos never got married… turn which proves that I’ve never kissed and am a virgin. And Michelle…, if I really express my views, the feminists here would excoriate me. I’d rather be the quiet dude. lol

  12. Damn you! I laughed out loud REALLY loud in the quietest part of training because of your last line. Now they think I’m loonier than they did- and I didn’t think that was possible. Leave it to the klown… LOL

  13. myiq2xu says:

    Sure is quiet today.

A week ago both sides were throwing haymakers. Then the media realized that Obama can’t take a punch. So now they want to talk about issues.

    Only they can’t.

    Kinda funny.

    • DandyTiger says:

They’re really are trying their best to help Obama. Nothing seems to work. Oh well. 🙂

If you were watching FNC, they started their coverage of Ryan in Florida pre-dawn and the HUGE crowd already lining up hours early, party ready! Yay for the old farts!

If you were following FB Romney Democrats today, there were “Republicans for Obama” and “JeSUS for Obama trolling our page 😀 Great fun in social network land /snork.

Tommy Thompson is 11 points ahead of Tammy Baldwin in the Senate race in Wisconsin.

Tommy didn’t win Tuesday’s GOP primary by much. The old man had to fight off a handsome newcomer — Eric Hovde — and a lot of negative advertising was thrown around. But he’s nevertheless way out in front of Baldwin already. This was utterly predictable, as is his ultimate victory over Baldwin in November.

The excitement in Wisconsin will have to be of the presidential political kind. Obama will have to show up here, and I wonder how much he will bother to help the predictable loser Baldwin. Remember, Obama did not stop by Wisconsin to try to help the Democratic challenger to Governor Scott Walker in the recall election last June. I think he didn’t want his lack of magic to show and knew Tom Barrett was going to lose. But now Obama faces his last election — or so he says.* The polls showing Baldwin’s dreary prospects are and will be much worse than what the public saw about Barrett. (But I believe Obama was looking at internal polls that show Barrett doing far worse than what the public saw before the recall election.)

Now, Obama needs to come to Wisconsin. These 10 electoral votes matter… a lot. They could determine the outcome of the presidential election. He must come to Wisconsin. Will he stand by Baldwin and promote her lost cause? It’s a risk! It’s not just the problem of getting loser on him, which we know from the recall he has an aversion to. It’s that Baldwin is a lefty liberal, whose career has been based in Madison, and Obama needs to win voters from those parts of the state he’s avoided in the past. He likes to show up for adoration in Madison and Milwaukee, but he won’t win Wisconsin that way, and showing up in Madison/Milwaukee pushing Tammy Baldwin is not the way to talk to the rest of Wisconsin.

I’ll take donations for a marker on the National Mall where Obama screwed America.

  17. Jesus!

As the vice presidential nominee debuted in Florida, Ryan and his mom — who wore a yellow jacket and white pants — were greeted by several thousand enthusiastic retirees, some who were camped out here for hours to see the mother-son team.

    Read more:

No word on what Ryan wore, of course. Grrrr.

  18. yttik says:

I read about the marker yesterday on a pro-Obama blog that reported, “Plague Marks Site of First Kiss.” Plague?!

Sadly, they fixed it. I think they had it right the first time.

Truth is what gets them every time.
The other day I was reading something about a candidate “going rouge”.
I thnk it was a tweet from donna brazile. I responded referring to the “dumbing down of the DNC”. I bet she didn’t get it.
