…and they don’t look like any vaginas that I know….

  3. Lulu says:

When are the Obama-bots going to be Dancing Assholes?

  4. HELENK says:

they do not even have sense enough to know that they are an embarrassment to women. Maybe all they are is vaginas but most women that I know are a hellva lot more.

I love you guys, butt, this live Cspan is making me horny 😉 Roll Call !

  6. yttik says:

Yikes, I hope none of these women have children, especially teen age children! I can’t imagine anything worse than having your mother dress up as a giant pink vagina and go out in public.

This is why I don’t watch television news:

NORAH O’DONNELL: Can I ask you about Mitt Romney and his record and specifics? He says he’s going to cut everybody’s tax rates by 20%, he’s going to increase defense spending, he’s going to restore the Medicare cuts and he’s going to balance the budget in eight years. How’s he going to do that? Even Paul Ryan says it would take ’til 2040.

CHRISTIE: Well, I don’t think he has said he’s going to cut everybody’s taxes.

O’DONNELL: Yes, he said he will cut everybody’s taxes by 20%.

CHRISTIE: Except, Norah, I think what he said is the effective rate for folks at the highest levels will not change, so in terms of what you’re paying because of the elimination of many deductions and other loopholes, that once the folks over —

O’DONNELL: So, he will cut the wealthiest Americans’ taxes?

CHRISTIE: Well, that’s not the way I read it. The way I read it is he says he’ll lower rates, but that with the elimination of deductions, that those who are making more than $250,000 a year will essentially pay the same amount of money under Mitt Romney that they’re paying right now under Barack Obama, but that others will pay less.

CHARLIE ROSE: You are going to have an opportunity to talk about the Republican brand. Many people are saying that this party has to reach out to minorities more than it is. Many people are looking at the party and saying that the Republican brand is damaged.

CHRIS CHRISTIE: No, I don’t think so, but I think — you see, I think there’s a fallacy, Charlie, about having to cater to a particular sector of the electorate.

ROSE: It’s not cater. It’s reaching out saying ‘You have a home in this party.’

CHRISTIE: But the way you do that is through the message that you put out there. And, for instance, I hear people talking all the time about the female voters. They say, well, ‘What are we going to do specifically to reach out to female voters?’ Well, the same thing we’re going to do to reach out to male voters. I think it’s condescending to women to say that we have to have a different message for women than we have for men. This is the message of our party. I’m going to lay out a message for our party tonight that I think will resonate just as much with women voters as it will with men voters.

STEPHANOPOULOS: You know, the Democrats are already ready for you to talk about the New Jersey experience. They’re pointing out, ahead of your speech, that New Jersey is near the bottom of states in unemployment. 48th in unemployment. 47th in economic growth.

CHRISTIE: Yeah. Except that in the last 12 months, George, we’re ranked fourth in the country in terms of the number of private sector jobs that have been created, according to CNBC. That we’ve had 90,000 new private sector jobs created since I’ve been governor. And this is from a state where we’ve raised taxes and fees 115 times in eight years and had just stifled our economy. So, we’re not going to turn that around overnight. But like I’ve said before, the New Jersey comeback has begun.

I think this is where the Dancing A–hole costumes could come in. The press would look lovely doing a chorus line in them. I’m thinking the theme song from Rocky and Bullwinkle would be great.

I plan to do another thread for Ann Romney’s & Chris Christie’s speeches. I am not following the play-by-play of the rest of it.

I swear to dog, this makes me embarrassed to be a woman — reducing a woman to nothing but her sex organs is about as un-empowering as you can get, IMO.

It’s a shame to see them sacrificing all that hard-earned credibility.

Best comment I’ve seen (from HA)

As a member of the Vagina-American community (disclaimer: I am retired from the reproductive arm of Vaginas Americanas), I am deeply offended by those demonstrations. And I’m pretty sure no one in the Republican Party has ever pretended to be a pink fabric-vagina, although I wouldn’t put it past the Obama campaign to claim that Mitt Romney put one on the roof of his car.

    • angienc says:

      Thank you HelenK!

I’m in & out –parents are in NOLA & decided not to evacuate (not that I blame them, it is just an overblow tropical storm/weak hurricane) but I’ve been following the weather & talking to them in between work (so not my usual amount of time to goof on on the blogs).

      • HELENK says:

my prayers for your family. I do hope all is well with them. SInce the levees have been upgraded that should make things safer shouldn[t it?

        • angienc says:

Oh, yes — the levees are in better shape then ever & the pumping stations have been 100% upgraded. NOLA is used to a lot of water — that isn’t to say there will not be street flooding, but this should not be what the media is trying to make it out to be, because despite the hysteria in the media, Isaac is NOT another Katrina — it’s a relatively weak storm — nothing to take for granted, but still . .. . Your prayers are deeply & sincerely appreciated.

        • angienc says:

A side by side picture of Katrina — strong, well developed storm (just look at that eye) and the disorganized Isaac (no real eye — it only got upgraded to Cat 1 because the winds *finally* reached 74 (the min for Cat) 1. Currently at 80).

        • myiq2xu says:

What Category was Katrina when it hit NOLA?

        • myiq2xu says:

A Cat 1 hurricane in the Gulf Coast is like a 4.0 earthquake in California.

        • angienc says:

Myiq — it’s going to land as a weak Cat 1 (it’s at 80 miles per hour winds right now) — rule of thumb is it gets one degree weaker by the time it gets to NOLA — so should be a tropical storm (max 74 miles an hour winds). The forecasters *say* it will still be a Cat 1 when it gets to NOLA, but I don’t buy it — they’ve been hysterical about this storm all week.

        • angienc says:

PS — see how ragged it is compared to Katrina? Katrina was so tight & “perfect” (for a hurricane) around that well developed eye, it was able to stay together very, very well as it moved inland, It was still a Cat 2 when it reached NOLA.

        • myiq2xu says:

I totally stole that graphic and posted it to the front page.

      • cj says:

It’s a huge rain maker though, so meteorologists are saying that flooding is the real concern. Forward motion was down to 10 mph the last time I checked, so it looks like it’s just going to rain and rain and rain and rain.

My thoughts are with you, just keep your family & yourself safe.

        • cj says:

Ah, just saw your post about the pumps. Fingers crossed everything stays ok.

        • angienc says:

Thank you! Yes, flooding is always a concern in New Orleans even with just a strong rain (which happens a lot). I think the serious danger with Isaac though is along the coast (Grand Isle, etc) which is all below sea level more than the metro area because of storm surge — Katrina, for example, had a storm surge of 28 feet — *at most* Isaac’s storm surge will be 12 feet.New Orleans metro area (where my parents are) is miles inland from the coast. Rain amounts will be about the same — Katrina had 15 inches; Isaac is estimated to have between 8 to 15 inches (but Isaac’s will be over 3 days, which gives time to pump water). Also, Isaac will NOT have the Cat 2 sustained winds Katrina had by the time it reached New Orleans (110 miles per hour) with Isaac on New Orleans, which lands as a “weak” Cat 1 with 80 miles an hour (which means, when it gets to NOLA, will be no more than 70, but probably 60 miles per hour). And, of course, the whole levees being breached should *not* happen this time.

A little fun fact: the original city of New Orleans (now known as the French Quarter) is on the highest point in all of southern LA — it isn’t even “below sea level” like the majority of Southern LA is — it’s why Iberville picked that spot to establish the city of New Orleans. And it *never* floods in the French Quarter — not even during Katrina.

        • cj says:

I had no idea —> “A little fun fact: the original city of New Orleans (now known as the French Quarter) is on the highest point in all of southern LA ”

I’m a sucker for fun facts, thanks. 🙂

Looking at the costumes, the people involved and the name of the organization, they are obviously a White supremacist, racist organization.

    • Lulu says:

And not to get too technical but they are in costumes that do not portray the vagina but external “features” of the female. I’m not sure they understand anatomy.
