O-B-A-M-A: 2008-2012

Cross-posted from P&L.

Wednesday night Bill Clinton will speak on Barack Obama’s behalf at the Democratic National Convention. He will try to pull at our heartstrings, to pull us back into the D-column with a lot of talk about how good things were when he was in office and promises about how Obama can deliver the same, if only we would come home and help give him a second term. Most of my readers know this an unfortunate bulldozer load of Big Dawg shit and will not fall for it.

We’ve been through a lot. We’ve been called everything under the sun, including racist, traitorous, stupid, selfish, ratfuckers, motherfuckers, and more. Many of the people we used to discourse with daily have be subsumed by the prog-borg, and it’s tempting in our isolation to give these folks we used to respect the time of day and the benefit of our doubt.

I’m here to tell you something: Fuck that shit. You know who you are and what you’ve been through, you know exactly how much or how little your politics have changed or not changed. You don’t need some bullshit artist convinced of their own superiority to inform your mind. You can think for yourself. You remember.

But there are those who don’t know, or who have forgotten. For them, we must remember. There is a case to be made for why President Obama doesn’t deserve reelection. Let us make that case now.

A Day that Will Live in Infamy

You remember it. May 31, 2008 was the day that gave truth to the idea that President Obama is the affirmative action president. To this day the likes of The Atlantic will bitch an moan about this reality and suggest that you are racist for believing it, but you know. You saw. You watched and you walked. So did 4 million of us. We saw the RBC steal delegate votes for Hillary Clinton and bestow them on Barack Obama. If he wasn’t the affirmative action candidate then, he wouldn’t have needed those votes he didn’t earn because he chose not to be on the ballot.

One week after the deal was done Hillary gave her concession speech. I started this blog that same day with a letter explaining how I would not vote for Obama or any Democrat unless she was on the ticket also. As we know, that never came to pass. But just so it is fresh in your mind, here’s her magnanimous speech:

Retroactive TelCom Immunity

That same month we got treated to what was in store for us. Candidate Obama took a brief respite from campaigning to go do his job as a Senator, a job he’d been ignoring for months, and cast a vote for retroactive telcom immunity. He did it because the industry flushed his campaign and the campaigns of so many Democrats with cold hard cash. You may remember this issue from the Bush years. Remember when the NYT sat on a story for an entire year of how the Bush Administration was using telcoms to spy on Americans citizens? Remember how up in arms the left was over it? Yeah, that was the first sign you saw that assured you the left had lost their fucking minds and that Obama was for sale himself, and he was about to put America up for sale, too. The money has always been the stinkiest thing about him, and that’s true to this day.

Wall Street Bail Out

Before he was even elected to the office of the presidency, Barack Obama assumed some leadership responsibilities. That’s how certain the election was in September and October of 2008. While John McCain saw the immorality of offering welfare to Wall Street for the act of betting against America’s future and refused to get anywhere near the deal, Barack Obama rushed back to Washington in the midst of campaigning for office to broker it. To give you an idea of how short-sighted the man is, despite the unpopularity of TARP in both the Congress and the larger populace, he made sure there were provisions in the bill to allow him to hand out half the money, thus “buying a share” of the deal.

Still the left turned a blind eye to what was happening before their very eyes. During this time they twisted themselves into intellectual pretzels so they could violate so many of the moral stands they had once taken, and in that act, Obamacrats were born. Obamacrats are not Democrats. They are some zombified version of Democrats, who feed off what they interpret as the holy body of Barack Obama, their savior.

Guantanamo Bay & Civil Liberties

One of candidate Obama’s many campaign promises was that he would close Guantanamo Bay, where the Bush Administration held what were called “enemy combatants” in contravention of Geneva Convention rules. It was, in short, the act of War Crimes. Obama continues this policy to this very day, and in fact has gone further than President Bush ever dreamed. President Obama, unlike President Bush, is guilty of ordering the death of American citizens without due process. His record on Civil Liberties in general is abysmal.

The video above is from November, 2008, after he was elected. He was still promising to close what we’ve all affectionately come to know as Gitmo. Candidate Obama promised repeatedly, and he promised to act immediately to close Guantanamo Bay. As President, he refused to act on this promise. It is still open, and is in fact, a policy point still enshrined in the Democratic National Convention platform that is being celebrated in Charlotte, NC as I type this.

Stimulus & Valerie Jarrett

After President refused to keep his promises and told women they could just sue for fair pay themselves, on their own dime natch, he decided maybe it was time to think about bailing out the rest of the country. He tried to do so by passing a $787 Billion “Recovery Act.” Only a funny thing happened on the way to the bank. Valerie Jarrett, whose job description is anything Obama wants it to be, got put in informal charge of approving access to the funds. She made sure the money went to Obama cronies who had filled his campaign coffers. And guess who those folks were? Wall Streeters and the new Green venture capitalists, for the most part.

So the stimulus, meant for Main Street, got doled out to Wall Street. This was on top of the TARP funds. Is it any wonder that the only group of people who have been untouched by the Great Recession to this day are the Wall Street barons who worked so hard to get this guy elected? Is it any wonder that the people who got these funds shipped it overseas and, when they did create jobs here, used at least half a million dollars in stimulus funds for every 7-figure job they created?

Debacle of Obamacare

Then came Obamacare. With 35+ million Americans out of work, many without health insurance for the first time in decades, with millions more underemployed in jobs without benefits, President Obama decided now would be a good time to pass his signature achievement and backtrack on another campaign promise he made. Talk about bad timing. He had differentiated himself from Hillary Clinton in 2008 in one area, and one area alone: the health insurance mandate. As soon as he saw how much money the health insurance industry would pay for the privilege of an entire nation captive to its services, he changed his mind. He also invited the entire industry to Washington to party-down in the making of the most diabolical power-grab in American political history. The result was a bill that will ultimately be his undoing.

Nothing that he has done has caused him more trouble than pushing through Obamacare, and he definitely pushed it through. In the wee hours of a Christmas Eve morning, after much deal-making and arm-twisting of his own loyal troops, they passed the thing. The next election cycle they lost the House and nearly lost the Senate. They still didn’t learn a thing. And they don’t see what’s coming for them on November 6th, 2012.

During all of this, over four solid years, Americans who chose to disagree with the methods and the policies of Obamacrats have been called every name in the book, from racist, to stupid, to intolerant, to asshole, their concerns dismissed as unserious and unnecessary. Much has been invested in defending this utterly authoritarian, undemocratic asshole.  The entire left has blown the considerable capital they had accumulated under 8 years of Bush, a wad they blew in record time. It has to be the shortest, most painful political orgasm in history; a classic case of intellectual priapism, to put it in terms they can understand. The left should lay off the Viagra for a good long time after this one.

In June of 2008, 4 million Democrats walked, but it wasn’t enough to stop the pending disaster. Played like fiddle, the majority of Americans, smarting after Bush’s tenure and not yet aware of the suffering that was headed their way, chose to attempt to heal a racial divide that has marked this country from its inception. They could not yet see how selfish, inexperienced, and narcissistic Barack Obama was, nor could they see how similar to President Bush he was. They see it now. The large majority who aren’t Obamacrats, that is, and the restless chain of adult children around them who are more into America’s Got Talent or fucking fellow occupiers in the fountains at Charlotte.

If this stroll down memory lane has been painful for you to read, imagine how I feel having to write it. It is more important than ever that we remember every last detail of the disaster we call The Obama Term, because the last thing we want or need is another one. Never forget, never forgive, and for goodness sakes whatever you do, never shut up about it.

I’m sure I left a lot out. That’s what comments are for.

I don’t know if anyone posted this article from the weekend already, but if the NY Times is turning on him…stick a fork in him (instead of focusing on a cratering economy, he is PRACTICING bowling to beat his friends?!?!?!):

New York Times Proves Clint Eastwood Correct — Obama Is Lousy CEO

The NYT piece is not about any of that. Rather, it is a deep look into the two outstanding flaws in Obama’s executive leadership:

    1. How he vastly overrates his capabilities:
    2. How he spends extraordinary amounts of time and energy to compete in — trivialities.

Kantor’s piece is full of examples of Obama’s odd need to dominate his peers in everything from bowling, cards, golf, basketball, and golf (104 times in his presidency). Bear in mind, Obama doesn’t just robustly compete. The leader of the free world spends many hours practicing these trivial pursuits behind the scenes.

Kantor’s portrait of Obama is stunning. It paints a picture of a CEO who is unfocused and lost.

I wouldn’t have hired this guy to do the office shredding let alone run the country. Both he and Moo are full of crap. Their leadership (if that is what someone calls leadership) has left us in a sinkhole.

  3. votermom says:

Look – a chance to vote for Toure Neblett to get a well-deserved award.

  4. votermom says:

    Breitbart.com fact checks Michelle’s speech.

  5. pipermn says:

For the first time in her life, Mo actually followed someone’s advice in terms of dressing appropriately and practicing the speechwriter’s speech. Anything to continue her marie antoinette’s lifestyle. Betting that she and him will separate shortly after his big life loss. Oh the tears!!!!

Yes, I am bitter when we could have a real executive in the WH. BTW, glad to see that others on various blogs are wakening up to the reality that if he steals another election, Hillary won’t ever become President.

    • Oswald says:

It has been speculated that MO had some “work done”. Here is here HS yearbook photo. What do you think?

  6. Cate says:

Brilliant Anabelle but, as you said, painful. I will bookmark this post for reference as it is an excellent description of the tragedy that is Barack Obama.

While my blood pressure can still spike at least 30 points whenever I think about 2008, that is truly NOT the reason I refuse to vote for BO. I’ve come to believe this man is really dangerous. He is doing everything and more that we vehemently complained about Bush doing (Senator BO also vocalized these complaints), but all those issues from way back when seem to be non-existent in today’s democrats and liberals sphere. It was interesting to read John Cusack’s latest criticism of BO, which was spot on. Why anyone would put their faith in him for another 4 years is beyond me.

    • wmcb says:

Yep. Despite my fury over 2008, if he had gotten in there and was doing a bang-up job, thriving economy, etc, I would not have a big problem with a second term. I’d still personally despise him and the Dems, but would realize that hey, if the asshole is getting ‘er done, then keep the asshole. I’m practical that way.

But he is making things worse. MUCH worse.

It’s official, Obama’s speech moving indoors to smaller venue. So what are they going to do with the extra 50,000 peeps ?

On a related note, overflow crowds are showing up at the Ryan rallies this week (Rom’s in debate training in VT). One such event, the overflow had to watch him on t.v. in another room. Ryan made sure he visited that room and thank them all for coming. Content of character, check 🙂

  9. yttik says:

I’m glad you wrote this because there are so many valid reasons, hard cold facts, that show why people should not give Obama a second term. It’s crazy making the way people just try to dismiss you as racist or bitter. It’s like gas lighting to be told over and over again that you are better off now than you were four years ago.

Seriously, this is psychological warfare. It’s abusive and an attempt to brain wash people into accepting a reality that doesn’t exist. All campaigns are about selling a product, a person, but there is something else at work that I find troublesome. People called it hopium in 2008, because we don’t even have the words to explain the behavior and people’s response.

    • DeniseVB says:

Of many of the post-game comments I’ve read one struck me …..”I’m proud to live in a country that would elect Obama, now let’s admit it was a mistake and move on”. Easy 😀

    • leslie says:

I am one of the few who actually are better off. But it has nothing to do w/TehOnce, nothing. I find him AND his obots very dangerous. Especially the ones who say they wouldn’t stop him from assuming dictatorial powers …… and hope he does. I will never vote for him or any of his supporters.

  10. angienc says:

    Absofuckinglutely right on.

  11. pipermn says:

Well written and thoughtful thread on the ‘won.’

  12. tommy says:

WJC may pull on my heartstrings all he wants, but this time, my head overrules my heart. My head says that we can’t afford BHO for another 4 years. Too many American people are suffering. As I detailed in my comments yesterday, BHO ain’t nowhere close to WJC. He doesn’t have 10% of WJC’s problem solving abilities. Romney does. And I don’t underestimate BHO’s oratorial skills. But its just style, no substance. We elected an American Idol President in 2008. For Gods’ sake, don’t fall for the spiel again (yeah I’m talking to you dems who loyally voted for Obama, many of you browse through TCH wondering what us ratfuckers are upto). Policies, worldview are debated when we have a positive upswing in the economy. When so many are unemployed and underemployed, kindly stop playing rhetorical games over social issues. America can’t afford another 4 years of BHO. Its just that simple.

    • WJC may pull on my heartstrings all he wants, but this time, my head overrules my heart.

HONK! THIS, Tommy, THIS. It’s why Obama will lose. People always lead with their hearts, but their heads soon follow.

  13. DandyTiger says:

Honk x 1M!! Awesome. Vote the bastard out!!! Try to save the Dem party (if even possible). Try to save our country. If you’re stuck on an issue that neither party wants to change, you’re a fucking idiot. The last thing the Republican party wants to do is get rid of RvW. If you’re falling for that old blackmail, your a fucking idiot. Did I mention you’re a fucking idiot if you fall for that. 🙂

  14. soupcity says:

Excellent and spot on. Kudos, Lola!

  15. Karma says:

Thank you. Just reading it takes me back to all those months of one horror show after the next. The country deserves better.

Raising a toast to Lola… Never forget. Never forgive.

  16. HELENK says:

    backtrack this is GOD

Downpour of rain and threat of lightening delays Air Force One’s takeoff for Charlotte. Its holding on the tarmac for storm to pass.

  17. HELENK says:

I do not know who is running this convention. I am not sure if they are the most sarcastic sobs or the most stupid

they want bill clinton to prop up backtrack and then they try to humiliate him again just like the 2008 convention when they played addicted to love when he came on stage

  18. watching her speech again made me sob. Can'[t wait to be the ones who say “get over it!!!!”
