It’s Official – Barack Obama Is Jimmy Carter II

Dana Loesch:

Islamists Storm US Egyptian Embassy, US Apologizes

After an angry mob stormed the U.S. embassy in Cairo and tore down the American flag, the embassy apologized for provoking the mob and condemned the free speech back across the Atlantic which hurt the mob’s feelings.

Egyptian demonstrators climbed the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo today and pulled down the American flag to protest a film they say is insulting to the prophet Mohammad.

[…]

Reuters reports that protesters tried to raise a black flag carrying the slogan: “There is no god but Allah and Mohammad is his messenger.”

The news agency says about 2,000 protesters have gathered outside the embassy and about 20 have scaled the walls.

The AP says the protesters were largely ultra-conservative Islamists.

Iran’s FARS news agency says the film is the work of a group of “extremist” members of the Egyptian Coptic Church in the United States.

Al Ahram online says the film is reportedly being produced by U.S.-based Coptic-Christian Egyptians, including Esmat Zaklama and Morees Sadek, with the support of the Terry Jones Church in the United States.

Jones is the evangelical pastor who stirred controversy last year by threatening to burn a Quran in public.

CNN says the film in question is a Dutch production.

[…]

Our own embassy responded by lying prostrate before the fundamentalists who are enacting their Theo Van Gogh brand of bullying:

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others

The storming of our embassy is one thing, but for us to apologize for someone exercising their right to free speech?

This is embarrassing.

Where are the Egyptian authorities and why aren’t they protecting our embassy?

Tell me that is Loesch poking fun, and not the actual words of our Cairo embassy.

That “Arab Spring” ain’t looking so peachy-keen no more.

    • cj says:

On 9/11. That’s not a coincidence & Obama needs to apologize for the sickening apology. I’m not holding my breath.

  3. myiq2xu says:

Meanwhile Obama is blowing off a face-to-face with Bibi Netanyahu.

  4. Just saw this as well. Barky chooses today to release a youtube video to the Arab Forum on Asset Recovery. (Praise for the Arab Spring yada yada- Arab Winter for women)

    • melisshka says:

Way OT, What did he do to his hair? It almost looks like it’s been dyed brown, which is weird, because even when it wasn’t as gray, it was more black than brown. And the style is odd; like he’s trying to grow bangs or something. Sorry for the off topic pettiness. 🙂

  5. Captain Quark says:

“Respect for religious belief is a cornerstone of American democracy.” No. Non-interference with religious practice is a cornerstone, but that doesn’t mean we have to respect the beliefs.

  6. myiq2xu says:

You can’t make this shit up:

Joe Biden called 9-11 a “bittersweet moment.”

  7. wmcb says:

The aim of that assault was most certainly NOT to “hurt the religious feelings of Muslims” What the hell has happened to my country?!

    • leslie says:

Are we also aplogizing in Libya as well?

I just finished my day at work and linked to you before leaving for the day. Really, myiq, I thought you were making this whole thing up. And that Dana Loesch was being facetious.

  9. myiq2xu says:

    Breitbart:

When Barack Obama hailed the Arab spring last year and hastened the exit of Egyptian strongman and long time US ally Mubarak, the Administration predicted the policy would bear fruit.

Today, on the eleventh anniversary of 9-11, it has.

  10. These fanatics – and the Egyptian Fundamentalists – make me sick to my stomach. WE have been very aware of BarackObama’s Radical Islamic Sympathies for ages. Today, they were Officially Unveiled. …so to speak.

  12. mcnorman says:

When will Barack apologize the USA for being born? I know, I shouldn’t hold my breath because it will never happen although it should.

    David Burge‏@iowahawkblog

@USEmbassyCairo this is the last f’ing date on the calendar I am going to listen to apologies for the US. You need to be recalled and fired.

  14. leslie says:

This is shocking and if Romney doesn’t use these apologies, flag burnings, etc in his campaign, then I can’t see voting for him either. Because I’ll take it as a sign that he just doesn’t want the job.

    • angienc says:

Don’t worry — he will. He’s been talking about Obama’s “apology tour of America” since the beginning of the campaign — he’s not going to punt on this now, especially when Politico just ran a story today saying Romney was Kerry on foreign policy.

  29. yttik says:

Good post, but I object to comparing Obama to Carter. Carter had integrity and morals, even if they didn’t translate well into presidenting. Obama has nothing but propaganda, avoiding accountability, and apologies when the going gets rough.

The only mention of the attacks of today was found near the bottom of the “World News” page.

  38. Okay, I have seen the Jones video and I gotta tell ya, it’s like Monty Python for Coptics & Evangelicals. It’s so bad it’s funny. Muslims themselves are now posting it to YouTube so the world can see why they are offended. This will NOT help their case. Not in the least. Have updated the post at P&L with the link, but did not embed the video. Last thing I need is a fatwa on my head.

  39. Um, Hillary is about to take a real hit, folks. Details in comments at P&L.

I hope not. Her statement was perfect. 0’s bots tried to make her out to be a horrible hawk, but she is modulated and strong at the same time. If he asks her to resign over this, just months before she makes her planned exit from State, he will look like a bigger idiot and apologizer.
