TAE: Naked Poll Rats Open Thread

It’s that time again! This American Election, a radio show for political junkies addicted to the horse race, is set to begin in just 45 minutes. Just click this link to listen live, or call in to (347) 324-3592 to listen live, or talk to Anthony and me. This week’s topics include:

  • State of the Race
  • Joe Scarborough Controversy
  • Death Panels
  • Labor Department, fiscal cliffs, and bribes
  • Polls
  • Madonna Controversy
  • Anne Romney Controversy

Special guest: John W. Smart! We hope you’ll join us and share this blog post in a tweet. We’ll be asking listeners what they think is the cause of the enthusiasm gap, which has been identified in a new AP/GSK poll. As always, we discuss any topic you care about if you call in!

By the way, we’re fast approaching 1,000 members at Romney Democrats on Facebook. Can we make it by the start of the first debate? Like us to find out! This is an open thread.

    I’ll be listening!

The media bias this morning about polls was absolutely astounding. The pundits completely ignored the enthusiasm gap being reported. A staggering number of Republicans are now very enthusiastic about voting, 64%. Obama’s trending numbers have either declined or remained stagnant, while Romney just keeps moving up a point every week.

Donna Brazille was actually toting Obama’s 5 point lead of 47%. In real people talk, that actually means 53% are not choosing Obama and that is in our heavily skewed polls.

  6. CRAP! BTR down right now. We’ll see if we can get through. Stand by…

Lola, you have the best radio voice ever! You actually enunciate your words so I can understand what you’re saying, even when the reception gets bad. You also have just enough of a whisper of an accent to make it charming.

I live in an area where we run everything together, donjaknow. Seriously, I haven’t understood a thing my children have said for about ten years now.

OT the Univision Fast & Furious report is on at 7pm eastern tonight in my area.

Anthony was talking about medicare, Obamacare, and people being switched to generic drugs. He was correct, I too have people winding up in the hospital when their drugs are switched. Some people can’t take some generics because of allergies to some fillers, dyes, synthetic compounds. The reverse is also true, some people cannot take a designer, but have no problem with a generic. The problem is bureaucracy never gives a shit. It’s a one size fits all solution and you don’t fit, you’re out of luck. It’s also based on cost, not on your health needs.

As to end of life counseling, also correct. There are people right now who are refusing to go to the doctor because they are so upset about the suggestion of end of life counseling. When you’re a 60 yr going to the doctor to have your diabetes checked and the doctor offers you end of life counseling, it doesn’t fill you with confidence. If you’re a minority even more suspicious of doctors, you may never go back.

It’s all over but the shoutin’ …

But seriously … what you want to bet that Obama doesn’t prepare at all for the debates? He is just that arrogant.

    • Lulu says:

He supposedly is taking off three days to cram for it. How the President of the US can just take off to study for something he is already supposed to know and is the smartest person and most brilliant speaker in the universe is beyond me. Of course he will know the questions ahead of time.

      • britgirls says:

I saw one report that said he’s taking 3 days to cram. Then another that said 2 days plus some fundraising. I suspect when it comes down to it he’ll be phoning it in. Literally … “hey, can’t we do this debate prep hour via Skype?”

Raiders are playing the Broncos in Denver. Both teams are 1-2 and both wins were against Pittsburgh.

Peyton Manning starting for the Broncos.
