Gawd … how many people compared Joe Biden to a drunkard last night? Pretty much everyone!

Personally, I thought the Vice President’s behaviour resembled the evening life cycle of an amiable drunk. He started out happy and smiling, turned argumentative in the middle, and closed with a rambling statement that suggested it was time for a power nap on a park bench. Ten minutes longer and he might have got his second wind, slung an arm around Ryan’s neck and started a chorus of, “Show Me The Way To Go Home…”

I’m stuck with the VP debates. Watch the video of Gary ‘Golden Gloves’ Kaminsky talking about Biden hypocrisy when he talked about Wall Street vs. main street. Kaminsky is an investor who often appears at CNBC.

LOL, I love this from the Telegraph commentary:

More about the CA poll. There are two polls by Survey USA, which it does better polling than Field Research, imho.

CA Still Safely Blue, But Romney Slices 8 Points Off Obama’s Lead After Romney’s Strong First Debate Performance:
The effects of President Barack Obama’s falter in the first debate with Mitt Romney are not just being felt in battleground states, according to SurveyUSA’s latest tracking poll of California, conducted for KABC-TV Los Angeles, KPIX-TV San Francisco, KGTV-TV San Diego, and KFSN-TV Fresno. Obama had led by 22 points in a SurveyUSA tracking poll released 4 weeks ago. Obama leads by 14 points today, an 8-point improvement for Romney. At the same time, the Dianne Feinstein contest for United States Senate remains largely unchanged, month-on-month, suggesting that the erosion in Democratic support is not across-the-board, but contained to Obama. Unclear is whether the Obama erosion is fleeting or long-lasting.

Obama 53%, Romney 39%, in today’s numbers. Obama carried California by 24 points in 2008, so today Obama is running 10 points weaker than he ran 4 years ago, 8 points weaker than he ran 4 weeks ago. Among Independents, Obama led by 14 in September, trails by 9 in October, a 23-point right turn among the most coveted voters. One explanation: the number of Romney supporters who tell SurveyUSA they are voting “for Mitt Romney” as opposed to “against Barack Obama” is way up, month on month.

things do not seem to be sunshine, lollypops and roses between backtrack and the clintons

Another thought about the debate: Biden used the word fact, or the phrase”‘that’s a fact” or “those are facts” so often last night, it made me wonder if he had been rattled by the hearings yesterday, where there was discussion of what constitutes a fact.

  7. Carney today re Libya: “The vice president was speaking about himself, the president and the White House. He was not referring to the administration.”

    WTF?

  8. But the point being, if the VEEP, the POTUS and the “White House” are NOT THE ADMINISTRATION, who the hell is?

    • wmcb says:

It’s insanity, FF. Can you imagine the press response if GWB had tried, “Oh, well, that was just Colin Powell, Rumsfeld, whoever in charge of that. Nuthin to do with ME.”

      • I can’t even fathom the Press response NOW. We really are living in Orwellian territory.

        These people are fu**ing nuts~!

Point in fact — U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage (Colin Powell’s guy) is the one who leaked Valerie Plame’s name to Robert Novack — it wasn’t one of George W. Bush’s OR Dick Cheney’s people (although VP Chief of Staff Scooter Libby, Cheney’s guy, helped with cover up after the fact). But GWB sure as FUCK was held responsible for that.

I know, because I was one of them holding him responsible. But that’s the difference between me & the vile progs — for me, it doesn’t matter what the letter the guy has behind his name.

It must be the committee to re-elect Obama who is in charge then. The hosers from Chicago

    • swanspirit says:

Valerie Jarrett and Davids Axelrod and Plouffe ?

  9. wmcb says:

  10. Well, as we saw with Cutter yesterday re R/R and Libya – it does seem OFA IS the Administration.

But then we KNEW OBAMA WAS NEVER ELECTED TO DO THE JOB in 2008. He was just, as he said, “eye candy.”

It’s ValJar who has the protection. Our unelected first woman Preezy.

Priorities! Obama to appear on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart October 18th http://bit.ly/QrMv6d

    • Underwhelmed says:

The question is, will Stewart show he has any testosterone, or will it be yet another pillow fluffing session?

  12. angienc says:

So far today, the White House has walked back and/or disavowed everything Joe Biden said last night — from the “we’re only raising taxes on millionaires” to “Biden was only talking about himself & Obama when he said ‘we'” re: Libya.

    Iowahawk sums it up perfectly:

just trying to remember the biden misspeaks last night

He voted against the war in Irag and Afghanistan…. he voted for them

the size of Libya compared to Iraq…he needs a map

religious institutions will not have to pay for birth control….church suing because they will have to pay

Libyian Ambassador did not ask for more protection

threw the intelligence community and state dept under the bus on Libya

    • HELENK says:

      correction
the size of Libya compared to Syria

    • westcoaster says:

I thought he was saying Syria was smaller than Libya as well, but then I found the transcript on ABC:

RADDATZ: Let’s move to another war, the civil war in Syria, where there are estimates that more — estimates that more than 25,000, 30,000 people have now been killed. In March of last year, President Obama explained the military action taken in Libya by saying it was in the national interest to go in and prevent further massacres from occurring there. So why doesn’t the same logic apply in Syria? Vice President Biden?
BIDEN: Different country. It’s a different country. It is five times as large geographically, it has one-fifth the population, that is Libya, one-fifth the population, five times as large geographically.

If that transcript is true, Biden was really rambling, fishing for an answer, but managed not to drop the ball completely

Well whoever “we” is that didn’t know the folks in Libya had begged for more security, maybe they should try attending the security briefings on a regular basis and act like they have some common sense by being extra vigilant on 9/11 like everyone else.

  15. Now CBS Evening News is leading with the Panetta (in a tuxedo!) scream9ing we are about to be attacked by a cyber attack that would be worse than Pearl Harbor AND 9/11/01.

    Remind you of anything?

  16. HELENK says:

all kidding aside. I watched that debate last night and was appalled.
How did this country fall so far to put backtrack and biden in charge. How is it that so many Americans do not see a problem with these two?

    • “How did this country fall so far to put backtrack and biden in charge.”

George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, the extended reach and collection of power of the Executive Branch; and the unconscionable spending by the Congress. Republicans and Democrats alike.
I knew we couldn’t survive 8 years of Bush. We haven’t.

And worse yet, Obama has doubled-down on his policies.

Obama really IS the third Bush Term – on steroids.
