John Sununu pwns Solenoid O’Brien (again)

The Right Scoop:

Sununu slams Soledad over Obama’s rose garden statement: You’re out of your mind!

Sununu came loaded for bear this morning in his interview with Soledad O’Brien. In fact as soon as it began he started hammering her for slanting the clips toward defending Obama and that continued well into the interview just on the issue of Libya.

At issue is the parsing that is going on by Soledad and others over Romney’s statement last night. In the debate Romney said it took 2 weeks for Obama to call the what happened an act of terror. Well it just so happened that Obama used those exact words in the Rose Garden speech. But what Romney meant – and it was clear from his context – was that it took 2 weeks for Obama to call it a terrorist act which is something entirely different. In fact Obama also referred to the attack on Benghazi as “senseless violence” in the Rose Garden speech. But that’s not how you describe a terrorist act.

And this parsing of Romney’s words to protect the president is what had Sununu so fired up from the get go in this interview. Even Crowley herself said after the debate that despite the parsing, Romney was correct. And Sununu wanted them to play that clip and they never did.

Don’t tell Angie, but back when I was a yellow-dog I didn’t much care for her new boyfriend. But these days I like anybody who refuses to take any shit from the media, and Sununu certainly fits that description.

The Obamafluffers in the media are trying to hang there hat on the fact that Obama mentioned “acts of terror” in his Rose Garden speech on September 12th:

“No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.”

But it is clear from the context that he was referring to violence in general, not the events that had taken place the day before. Five days later Ambassador Susan Rice went on all the Sunday talk shows and insisted that the events in Benghazi were caused by a protest over a YouTube video that had spun out of control.

But lets assume arguendo that Obama did state it was a terrorist attack. Why then did he jump on Air Force One and head for a fundraiser in Vegas? Why did he skip his daily security briefing for the nth time?

People died. Obama lied.

Love that Sununu. Tidbits from James Carville.

“Ideologies aren’t all that important. What’s important is psychology.

The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That’s why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.

Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political reality.

In your last post comments someone posted a quote about Romney being an experienced business man and knowing a good business plan from a bad one and Obama’s plans being all rainbows and unicorns. I used that on some very young Obama followers just now and they seemed to get it. I also told them I knew too many people who have lost their career jobs and their houses and one woman who killed herself out of financial hopelessness. All these people want is a chance to have a job again.

      • britgirls says:

Oh that poor woman. 😦 What a desperate situation. It’s everyone’s worst nightmare. I read that suicides rise and fall with recessions and economic booms. Also, army suicides are at a record high.

      • mcnorman says:

Barry doesn’t get it Constance. He’s clueless. His jobs have always been given to him. I’m sure that his grades in college were given to him as well. He has ridden the best ride possible and now he doesn’t understand what the real world is all about.

  2. myiq2xu says:

    Chaffetz is too polite:

On CNN this morning, Rep. Jason Chaffetz R-Utah told debate moderator Candy Crowley that she was wrong to insert herself into the presidential debate last night, as the two candidates spoke about Libya.

“I just felt that personally that was the one time where I felt like there was a genuine disagreement between the two candidates and I felt like it wasn’t necessarily your place to try to be fact checked right there.” Chaffetz said. “I happen to think that your assessment of that was wrong and so I was a bit frustrated on that particular part.

“It’s not the role of the moderator to say, Mr. President, you’re right, or Mr. Romney you’re wrong.” Chaffetz concluded.

Sununu would have called her out more forcefully.

  3. myiq2xu says:

    People died. Obama lied.

That would make a cool bumpersticker but it’s too close to the election.

I love the Big Dawg but that right there is funny.

    • votermom says:

I chortled at that one too.

    • DeniseVB says:

“a binder of women” is the new vile prog dog whistle for Romney Hearts Polygamy. Guess there was some guy on a show (Big Love?) who was flipping through “a binder of (underage) women” to select a new wife or three, so of course, Romney’s that icky guy.

I thought Mitt’s recruiting of women for his state cabinet and high admin positions was fabulous. He SOUGHT them out and gave the moms flex schedules. He sounded like a fabulous boss too.

Then I saw Amy Siskind gave the debate to Obama, so I’m totally clueless now what The New Agenda really is for? She’s well aware of Obama’s toxic environment for women on his staff.

      • I agree. How could you not like the image of Mitt actively recruiting women for his cabinet? And the result of that was Jane Edmonds. Cue the next ad.

Besides I’d like to see a comparison of what Romney’s female staff made vs. Obama’s. I’m guessing because more women were in higher positions of power, its way over the $1.

      • swanspirit says:

Amy also told me she is voting for Obama because “Romney picked Ryan” and if he had picked “Condi” she would have voted for Romney . Anyone making decisions like that cannot be a reliable supporter for womens causes

      • Constance says:

I would like to see a cartoon of Hillary, Rice, Lamb, NOW leaders, Siskind, etc gathered around singing “Stand by You Man” while you hear a bus with Obama logo driven by a weasel with a Obama logo on his shirt shift gears and bear down on them with the last image being THUMP!

      • DeniseVB——The New Agenda is all about uplifting Amy Siskind. Period. All issues be damned. I was a founding member and officer who left that organization after Amy decided that our principle about leaving abortion out of the equation needed to fall by the wayside so she could write an article about it for a publication.

To be so pouty about Romney not picking a woman VP is not only stupid (it was a long shot at best) but just another example of her inconsistency so she can find a position for herself, i.e. with the local Democratic establishment.

For an organization that came together because of the sexism against Hillary and Palin to suddenly decide to support the perpetrator of that sexism over someone who didn’t choose a woman VP (neither did Obama) just shows that what’s left of the organization is all about what is in it for Amy and her advancement. All of the good people left The New Agenda a long time ago.

Thanks Cynthia, I was so hoping TNA would become the antidote to NOW. Since 2008 I kept feeding links to my daughter’s personal fight against the Boyz Club. On my blogroll, it’s documented under Girl with a Wrench with links to MSM, a documentary and local (NYC) kudos to her efforts. Never heard back from Amy 😦

TNA was were I first met Lola and her work. Flash forward, now a proud member/co-mod of Romney Democrats and The Crawdad Hole’s fighting team ❤

        • DeniseVB—TNA was a fabulous idea and could have been the antidote to NOW. From the beginning it attracted such a stellar group of women who have all gone away. I met some of my BEST internet friends from TNA and for that I am grateful. It was just lead by the wrong person.

    a good description of backtrack

Less Government founder and president Seton Motley had this reaction to last night’s second Presidential debate:

“President Barack Obama is to economic recovery and growth a biological weapon of mass economic destruction. If we want an America that revives and thrives, this president must be decommissioned.”

  6. DeniseVB says:

Sidebar: Ms Candy’s getting a lot of flack for her performance as an Obama hackerator for obvious reasons especially “her choices” of questions to be asked. Wouldn’t you love to know which questions didn’t make her cut ? I would.

  7. tommy says:

The overbearing fact is that we lost an ambassador under O’s watch. We actually lost a freakin’ AMBASSADOR. Politics aside, in this day and age, there is no excuse for that. And then the WH decides to play politics with it, blaming an anti-Islam crap. To me, that is unprecedented. In the normal course of events, if we lose a citizen, we make a big hue and cry, and we demand answers. If we lose an ambassador, thats grounds for war. But the WH plays footsie, can’t openly tell us what happened, and attempts a cover-up. We can’t afford another 4 years of this bu**shit. Its as simple as that. And the MSM keeps defending the idiot Preezy.

    • Well said. That’s why I can’t stand the parsing I’ve been hearing from the media — that 4 diplomats died, or they’ll say 4 Americans. When what they should say is 1 AMBASSADOR and his 3 guards. The media parses and treats us like idiots.

    • Constance says:

Obots think all this word parsing about Libya terrorism is cute and intelligent but every one else is disgusted. Because the media is asleep in their worshipful position many people don’t know about it but even the hard core Democrats who I have informed about Libya lies are upset about it.

      • gxm17 says:

What obots don’t realize is that one can not “parse” the truth. The truth exists outside of grammatical analysis and beyond the quibbler’s reach. It does not need sentence diagrams. It simply is.

And the truth is that our embassy in Libya suffered a coordinated, prolonged, heavily armed, terrorist attack. The truth is that Ambassador Stevens was assassinated. The truth is that there was no protest over a video. The truth is that the WH knew the truth early on. These are truths that can’t be quibbled away. And those who choose to manipulate these tragic facts should be held to the strongest censure.

Another truth is that, last night, only Mitt Romney was speaking honestly about the Benghazi cover-up. Obama and Crowley were lying. And I have to believe that most Americans know it.

thanks for saying the things i want to say to a certain someone that starts with the letter z on john’s blog… that guy is super annoying, i wish he would leave john’s site since he thinks of us as these people. and i just don’t want to feed that troll. he just won’t go away, so i come here to actually comment because that guy just drones on and word parses to stick up for obama although supposedly he is voting third party, i would only believe that shit if i saw it. he is totally manipulative.

Bizarre Coincidence: Democrats Get More Time in All Three Debates

If you want more time to get your message out in debates, it’s good to be a Democrat.

According to the CNN debate clock, President Obama spoke at greater length than Mitt Romney during both debates, as did Vice President Biden during his debate with Paul Ryan. In the first debate, Obama spoke for 3 minutes, 14 seconds more than Romney — which means he got 8 percent more talking time than Romney. In last night’s debate, Obama spoke for 4 minutes and 18 seconds longer than Romney, giving him 11 percent more talking time. Obama talked for 52 percent of the time when either man had the floor, while Romney talked for 47 percent.

During the vice presidential debate, the gap wasn’t as wide: Biden spoke for 1 minute, 22 seconds more than Ryan. Still, that gave Biden 3 percent more speaking time than Ryan.

According to my feeble statistical skills, there is a 1 in 27 chance of that happening at random. (1/3 x 1/3 x 1/3 = 1/27)

  9. DM says:

Gallup tracking poll, likely voters, has Mitt at 51% +6 points today. That’s what matters, not what the pundits say. Interestingly, the registered voter poll has Mitt +2. Romney is surging very strongly. The voters are the real pundits.
