Where Obots Come From

And they say science majors are for the smart kids:

Surprise! ‘Undecided’ debate questioner at Tuesday’s debate declares for Obama

In a shocking development, the 20-year-old exercise science major who led off Tuesday’s presidential debate seeking reassurance from the candidates about his job prospects has apparently endorsed President Barack Obama.

The Associated Press reports that Adelphi University student Jeremy Epstein said Wednesday he still clings to the “undecided” label, but would cast his vote for Obama if the election were held today.

Epstein told the AP that he was dazzled when Obama gazed into his eyes.

“I felt like he was saying he wanted a bright future for me, that he was talking about the youth of America,” Epstein said.

Epstein did not correctly recall each candidate’s answer to his probing question, however.

Part of Obama’s response to Epstein’s question involved an unsolicited digression about manufacturing jobs.

“I want to build manufacturing jobs in this country again,” Obama said, before he took credit for saving the American auto industry.

Epstein apparently walked away from the debate thinking that Romney, not Obama, had brought up the manufacturing industry.

“Gov. Romney went into a discussion about manufacturing jobs,” Epstein said, according to the Associated Press. “I don’t think people in college like me are looking for that kind of job right now.”

The transcript of Tuesday’s debate shows that Romney made no mention of manufacturing in his response to Epstein’s question, or in any part of the exchange that followed the question.

Nobody under thirty should be allowed to vote.

But wait! There’s more!

Did I say he was a science major? I meant “exercise science.” From Adelphi University:

Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science
Exercise Science, Health Studies, Physical Education, and Sport Management

The Department of Exercise Science, Health Studies, Physical Education and Sports Management offers undergraduate programs which lead to career options in exercise science. Specialized tracks in exercise science include fitness specialization, and pre-physical therapy.

In addition to the University’s General Education requirements, students seeking Exercise Science must complete 41 credits of Exercise Science Foundations, including a three credit practicum; 19 credits of Exercise Science electives and 32 additional elective credits. The Exercise Science Program prepares students for careers in strength and conditioning, exercise leadership and personal training. Many students continue on to their Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. Courses include learning objectives for the American College of Sports Medicine, Health/Fitness Specialist Certification.

My prediction:

Three years from now this choomer is gonna be sitting in Zuccotti Park whinging that he can’t get a job to pay off his student loans. (Current tuition and fees at Adelphi is about $30,000 year.)

“Exercise Science” is the politically correct term for majoring in Physical education. It’s barely a degree.

    • myiq2xu says:

It’s the kind of degree they invented for dumb jocks.

    • mcnorman says:

He’s gonna get a job a kindergarten PE coach. Bright future for a bright one. It is the degree that was invented for the dumb jocks. myiq is spot on. hahahahahaha

My mom’s a Math teach so I say this with love:

Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach. Those who can’t teach, teach P.E.

      • votermom says:

Btw, my kids have a great PE teacher – seriously, he is wonderful with kids. He also happens to be a black belt master who runs his own karate school which is his real passion.
But just scratching my head on this kid still …

Many women of my generation had limited choices – teaching, nursing, secretarial and homemaking.

        • angienc says:

I know piper — that’s why I said I wrote this with “love” — my mom is a teacher & I was a high school teacher myself before I went to law school. I know how important & difficult teaching is & the old joke “those who can, do; those who can’t, teach” is b.s.

The “joke” here is from School of Rock — and the purpose was to get to the “those who can’t teach, teach PE” part (which is the spin on the old joke).

  2. insanelysane says:

Oh geez, and this is one of the “educated” ones. Have any of the Obamatrons ever heard of critical thinking?

    Apparently not.

    • ME says:

We can’t give IQ tests before allowing someone into the voting booth. And further more we can’t give quizzes on the Constitution or the news of the day. We have to accept that yes, even idiots can vote. I understand partisanship but this guy was just confused. He attributed Obama’s words to Romney!

  3. DM says:

Epstein told the AP that he was dazzled when Obama gazed into his eyes.

Epstein was love-struck. And after being struck by cupid, he didn't hear anything.

  4. ME says:

Okay I have to take a break from the internet. This news really infuriates me. These people are responsible for the last for years. 😦

  5. does it really matter how he votes? New York is going D no matter what

    • ME says:

I’m not overly invested in his one vote. I am questioning the “undecided” “uncommitted” voters who are getting all this power and attention. CNN, FOX, and MSNBC wait with baited breath for their opinions. During the first debate one of the “undecideds” said she preferred Obama because the new health care law allows her to be on her parents insurance at 26. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have both been campaigning on repealing “Obamacare.” During the CNN panel of “undecideds” she said she was leaning Obama. Well, duh. It’s possible she is thinking of going third party, but why would we need her opinion in a debate between the two major parties? These people are attention seekers.

    • DM says:

Epstein is representative sample of kids voting for Obama. It’s a problem, imho. Their experience is mommy and daddy and the sand box. Voting age was lowered during the draft because young men were going to war, and if they were old to go to war, then they should be able to vote. Men who go to war grow up fast, but the college kids don’t have the maturity to make decisions that will impact our lives years from now.

On the other hand, the consequences of their bad decisions will be left to their generation.

  6. Constance says:

This is why I think if someone sponsored a big party with free food and drink near campus a lot of these folks would never get around to voting. And without a party a lot of them still won’t be able to figure out how or where to vote.

  7. DeniseVB says:

The Dems are having a rough re-entry into reality, not as mad at Obama as they are of themselves buying what Obama sold. Guess that’s what separated us from the herd, we never bought it 😉

    • DM says:

At the end, Ross says that the Democrats will blame Obama. Nah. Democrats will blame the evil Koch bros, Rove, corporate money, etc. never mind that they hav Soros and as much as the Republicans in corporate money.

Somewhere a mother is reading this and realizing she won’t be able to renovate and rent out the basement after all. Sonny boy will be needing it indefinitely. Bummer. There go the Hampton holidays.

  10. britgirls says:

Love how he’s turning up his nose at the idea of taking a manufacturing job. What exactly does he think he’s going to be qualified to do with his degree?

    Just … wow … no words. o.o

  11. Pips says:

Watching the debate I noticed how he, while reading his question, was looking up not at Romney standing right in front of him ready to answer, but at Obama sitting in the back. Right there and then I knew he was an Obama voter, lol.

    Undecided my foot. 🙂

  12. myiq2xu says:

  13. “Exercise Science.” That is the major they have designed for dumb jocks. Seriously, it is not “science.”

    • I see ya’ll were ahead of me with that! LOL. But, seriously…. I am so tired of these PE majors pretending they are in a program like Nursing or PT…. I want to puke. My daughter’s best friend carried on about how great her degree in PT was gonna be. We went to her draduation and is was a a worthless PE degree. Those kids are being led to believe they are in something they are not.

  14. Obama effectively blames Congress for not reigning him in and stopping him from the greatest expansion of executive privilege since George W. Bush:

Obama said: “We don’t, there’s some things that we haven’t gotten done, I still want to close Guantanamo, we haven’t been able to get that done. One of the things that we’ve got to do is put a legal architecture in place and we need congressional help to do that to make sure that not only am I reigned in, but any president’s reigned in in terms of some of the decisions that we’re making.”

Speaking from her home in San Diego, Mrs Smith, 72, continued: ‘It’s insensitive to say my son is not very optimal – he is also very dead. I’ve not been “optimal” since he died and the past few weeks have been pure hell.
‘I am still waiting for the truth to come out and I still want to know the truth. I’m finally starting to get some answers but I won’t give up.
‘There’s a lot of stupid things that have been said about my son and what happened and this is another one of them.’

    • britgirls says:

I was just reading that. My heart breaks for her. To be going through the loss of her son is bad enough, but then to know that information is being withheld and no ones filling her in on what really happened. And then Obama being so insensitive with his “not optimal” comment. They’re torturing the poor woman.

  22. Pips says:

After the debate and after the candidates had ‘worked’ the room, shaken hands, signed autographs, small talked, had their pictures taken – Obama sporting his automatic grin just long enough for the photo to be taken – Jeremy Epstein was waiting for him by the exit.

One of Obama’s handlers, half shaking his head, pointed him towards Epstein in a “sorry sir, you can’t leave just yet, as this guy insists on having his picture taken with you” kind of way.

Afterwards Jeremy Epstein, being handed his camera back looked sooo happy … and a bit starstruck.

I think you’re all far too hard on the kid. Come on he just had an opportunity to talk to and with the President, having his picture taken with same. I really don’t begrudge him this ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ even if I don’t share his apparently positive view of this president.

I think scorn should instead be directed at those who picked him as an undecided voter, which he clearly was not.
