October Surprise Revealed: Gloria Allred Heads To Court, Attempts To Unseal Mitt Romney Testimony And Lift Gag Order

Famed civil rights attorney Gloria Allred will be in a Boston area courtroom Wednesday in an attempt to unseal the sworn testimony given by Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, in a prior court case, is exclusively reporting.

“The Boston Globe is headed to court tomorrow morning for an emergency hearing in an attempt to obtain a court order to unseal the sworn testimony given by Mitt Romney in a prior court case and to lift a gag order so that the parties can speak about Romney. Gloria Allred will be in court representing one of the parties in the case,” a source close to the situation tells

The emergency hearing will take place at the Norfolk Probate & Family Court in Canton, Massachusetts, and Justice Jennifer Ulwick will oversee the proceedings which will begin at 9 a.m. EST.

This has David Axelrod written all over it. Allred is a Los Angeles attorney. What is she doing in Boston? Who is paying her fees?

This is the same bullshit they pulled with Blair Hull and Jack Ryan. I hope the judge reschedules the hearing for November 7th.

Repeating myself in the right place *g*

I’m not an orthodox Christian by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m typing this on my knees, praying till my gums bleed that this despicable tactic backfires so enormously the echoes will rebound unto the 14th generation! These unspeakable people are the walking, talking personification of evil.

Also? You’re insulting the Wilburs, yeah? 😉

  4. leslie says:

I’m shocked, shocked I tell you that the Obama team is trying to clear the way for Obama to run unopposed once again.

  5. Steve says:

We have what is probably Mitt Romney’s best ad so far… “Apology Tour”:

  6. DandyTiger says:

The flop sweat move. I suspect the Romney people saw this from a mile away and are ready for it. Probably Romney advising someone about family matters, showing he’s you know, conservative. Who knows. But it will likely make Romney look more human.

If it involves a confidentiality order it almost certainly involves money even if it is a nuisance lawsuit. If they do not want to keep their mouth shut give the money back and talk. You cannot have it both ways and courts do not like people who take the money and will not live up to the agreement. I would think the judge will tell them this.

I thought the same thing — is Alred even licensed in MA? This is a bunch of bullshit. I also actually think there is no case (or one that doesn’t involve Romney directly — he may have been a witness & given testimony in a case in which he was not a named party) because the article doesn’t even say what kind of case this was. My bet is they have no intention of unsealing anything they just want to make it *look* like Romney was a named party in a case that is under seal so people will jump to all kinds of sleazy conclusions. Come on — Romney isn’t involved in some sex scandal or anything else — he gave Ted Kennedy a run for his money when he ran for US Senate & he ran for governor of MA (which he won) — if there was any case under seal in a MA court, it would have been “leaked” then — Teddy was no choir boy.

  12. DandyTiger says:

Commenter at Legal Insurrection said the judge was a recent Deval Patrick appointee. So may be in on the scheme.

What the hell is going on?

  14. votermom says:

So is Allred going to unseal a record that gives me a reason to vote FOR Obama? What’s in those records – 15 million new jobs?

  15. Somebody says:

I was just coming to say the same DandyTiger. I did a little goggling around she was in fact Deval Patrick appointee. Prior to that the senior partner at the law firm she worked at described himself as “The last of the bleeding heart liberals”.

Granted that was the someone she worked for, but what are the odds that she’s also of that mindset? Let’s see, an attorney from the Boston area, worked at a liberal leaning law firm (redundancy alert), appointed by Axelrod’s other protege.

This sounds like a set up all the way around…….but what case is this and what pray tell could Romney have testified to?

Quite frankly I don’t care what he testified to. Tools the lot of them, clearly they’re not liking their internals. Such hypocrites they want to have sealed court records unsealed, but will fight tooth and nail to keep any information about their messiah secret. Let’s see your transcripts Barry. How about the Khalidi tape, let’s see that Barry.

Recent grandfatherly duties entailed watching The Lion King six gazillion times. Whilst considering the hyenas, and their growing and ebbing power in the pride, could not help but note their similarity to Allred, Axlerod, et al. Scam-sucking dirtbags, all. IMPOTUS attracts the lowest of the lowlifes.

  22. bunkerville says:

The judge was just appointed in February by dem Patrick deval. It will be opened, you betcha.

  23. gxm17 says:

    Really, Obamanation?

Don’t they realize that they’re just giving people like me another reason to vote for Romney?

  24. HELENK says:

Just saw a segment on fox about the phony letters sent to Republican voters in Florida telling they may not be eliglble to vote,
every day this bunch makes me more ashamed that I was ever a democrat

  25. Hmmm I wonder when family and probate for Norfolk county moved from Dedham to Canton. But maybe it didn’t and alred will show up in the wrong town.
Unless Romney was killing and eating raw babies- nothing is going to change.
