#Benghazi Calls for rescue DENIED three times

CIA operators were denied request for help during Benghazi attack

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later was denied by U.S. officials — who also told the CIA operators twice to “stand down” rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to “stand down.”

Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The rescue team from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.

At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Spectre gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

It’s all falling apart now. When are they going to let the video guy go?

Woods dad said Hillary promised to jail him, so in jail he sits.

I am beyond disgust at everyone, including Hillary, associated with this right now.

Hillary chuckling about “cherry picking” on Benghazi was the end for me.

So far no media coverage of the “Stand Down” story other than Fox.

        • kanaughty says:

it has been on conservative talk radio all day, and it reaches a lot of people, so it is getting out there even if nbc et al. are burying the story. it is going to get so big, that the other stations won’t be able to ignore it anymore. Questions from the people of the united states will eventually get their media to speak about it, or they will seem as they are behind the times. in the end the media still wants to get the scoop above all, so they don’t want to be too far behind. they will start to talk about it, it is just a matter of time. if not then they are negligent and fox’s rating will jump even more.

the thing about the new news that is interesting is that these two guys at the annex disobeyed direct orders to go save the people at the consulate, those guys are heroes! and then once they saved the folks they could, they were under attack again and they were asking for backup, but they were ignored! these guys died by pure negligence in the chain of command. they were americans who died for political reasons and incompetence. i will say again, these cia guys were heroes! and they were the real deal with real american principles that they lived by and ended up dieing by 😦

i did think that the mantra was “leave no man behind” and these guys lived by that. i am so glad they cared enough about america (because it was american soil) that they disobeyed orders to save other americans. and in the end, they disobeyed orders because they believed their principles, their mantra of never leaving anyone behind was a stronger principle. whoever said “stand down” over and over again is an ahole who deserves to go to prison for the rest of their lives!

Kevin DuJan’s tinfoil theory is starting to sound more & more plausible

Posted on October 8, 2012 by Kevin DuJan

Today I’m going on the radio in Los Angeles to accuse the Obama administration of deliberately attempting to stage a hostage-taking in Benghazi as part of a manufactured “October Surprise” that Obama intended to make himself look great on the foreign stage in the lead up to the election. The plan — if you were paying attention — was set in motion at the Democrats’ convention in Charlotte in early September when repeated mentions of Obama as a “foreign policy president” were made. This was timed to lead up to September 11th…when deliberately lowered security at the Benghazi consulate (and OTHER consulates and embassies in the Mideast) was supposed to encourage Muslims to take Americans hostage like they did in 1979. Only, Obama’s plan was to negotiate their quick released by trading the “Blind Sheik” from the 1993 World Trade Center bombings for any Americans taken hostage on 9/11/2012.

The plan was to make Obama look like “a badass” and a to have him revel in this through October and into the November election. In fact, the hostages were probably planned for release not long before the Foreign Policy Debate (the last of the three presidential debates this year) in Boca Raton, Florida. This was supposed to show Obama standing up to Muslims, negotiating “peace”, and proving to the world what an effective and strong leader he was.

Only…it blew up in his face and the administration has been in overdrive trying to cover this stuff up ever since.

The only way any of this makes any sense, including the deliberate lowering of security and the disregard of Ambassador Chris Steven’s multiple pleas for help on the ground in Libya in the weeks prior to his murder, is that Barack Obama WANTED a hostage situation to happen so he could “look presidential by resolving it in October”… but the Muslims in Libya went overboard and killed people instead of just taking them hostage.

This also explains why no effort was made to even look for the Ambassador and others missing from the consulate for many hours: Obama’s gang just assumed he was taken hostage as planned and were STUNNED to learn the ambassador was murdered.

Why else would Obama go to sleep so casually at 3am that night if he didn’t think things were just going according to plan…but when he woke up at 11am the next day he found that all Hell broke loose instead.

    And then the coverup began.

    • yttik says:

Well, when you have this much bungling and cover up, it’s irresponsible not to speculate.

    • Constance says:

I’m not a fan of tinfoil hat scenarios but something stinks about this whole Libya affair and this theory would explain a lot. I don’t think Obama so much wanted to make himself look good though as he really wanted an excuse to send the “Blind Sheikh” terrorist home to Egypt for some reason.

    • DeniseVB says:

Conspiracies are caused by not having all the facts, Kevin’s tin foil sounds about as good as anything that’s come out of the WH (aka the video SQUIRREL !). Obama should not have gone to Las Vegas and held a press conference a couple of days later with all the information to his knowledge at that point. He’s President, he doesn’t have to campaign 24/7, but we now know he’d rather do that than the job we hired him for.

Kevin will eventually make it back to Rushbo as he has a lot of dittoheads at Hillbuzz 🙂

Believe it or not, the media still believes this is all Romney’s fault for making it political …. sigh …..

  6. Haven’t done a search yet, but commentors on Gretawire stating no other national news outlets covering FOX story online and that Yahoo deletes Benghazi comments. Can we say the Fascists have taken over America?

Interview with Charlie Woods on FOX here:

    Key part:

If in fact, those people in the White House were as courageous and had the moral strength that my son Ty had, immediately, within minutes of when they found there was a first attack they would have given permission and not denied permission for those C-130s to have gone up there. I don’t know much about weapons but it’s coming out right now that they actually had laser targets focused on the mortars that were being sent to kill my son and they refused to pull the trigger, they refused to send those C-130s.

I’m an attorney. This may not meet the legal test of murder but to me that is not only cowardice, but those people who made the decision and who knew about the decision and lied about it are murderers of my son. That’s a very strong statement for me to make but for their benefit they need to clear their conscience, they need to stand up and change the direction of their lives. And I want to say right now you know who you are, I totally forgive you, but I hope years from now you change the direction of you lives.

    • Constance says:

Wow, That is, I am lost for words, I guess compelling is all I can think of….how can CNN not cover this. Good. It’s quite a story to sit on, especially when it’s starting to leak out at other networks besides FOX.

    • britgirls says:

I linked on FB to Tapper’s article. It needs to be reported outside of Fox because a lot of people dismiss Fox as partisan. I don’t care what side of the aisle you’re on … this needs to be heard.

On top of the clusterfuck response to the attack, Joe Biden’s glib remarks to the parents AT THE MEMORIAL SERVICE are just outrageous. I want to slap him.

  10. yttik says:

I started to think something was fishy, thanks to an Obot who claimed that the attack on our ambassador was a secret plot by the CIA to make President Obama look bad. I mean seriously, as if the CIA attacked their own selves, their own annex, in a secret diabolical plot!? Give me a break! But then I started wondering WHY was the ambassador left unprotected? WHY did the military not come to their aid? Why were their two attacks? Why was the intelligence community blamed? WTH is with this you tube video crap that has nothing to do with anything? Why is this administration trying to cover their tracks and lie to the American people?

So, no, extremely doubtful the CIA was involved, and they certainly wouldn’t have themselves killed just to tarnish the President’s “brilliant” foreign policy reputation, but something is just off about the whole thing.

    • HELENK says:

I read a comment today that made me stop and think

That interview brought tears to my eyes. I don’t have the words to provide him comfort.

  15. yttik says:

I don’t know if this is accurate or not, but it reflects what I’ve been thinking about the whole thing, that Hillary was over ruled by Susan Rice and President Obama, that her jurisdiction over the State Dept was violated, and that she didn’t find out about it until after the attack.

She’s almost been acting like a split personality, one one hand covering up for the President, on the other hand releasing emails and witnesses that shed more light on the situation. There was something in her tone when she said, nobody wants to get to the bottom of this more than me. She didn’t say the President wants the truth or the families or the American people, she said herself, which makes me think she believes somebody went behind her back and over ruled her.

I think it really sucks if she’s such a party loyalist that she feels she has to not expose Obama, but that makes a certain amount of sense too.

    • I was just coming to share this. Keep in mind this is Ed Klein, who may or may not be a credible source. He’s been “leaking” info from inside the Clinton camp for months, but so far none of it is backed up for sure. But if this is true, and if a smoking gun can be found, it’s deadly to Obama. He’s going to lose anyway, so there’s no telling the real effect it will have until November 6th, but it will be a load of additional weight on his sinking ship. I hope some documents are released, and I hope Hillary stops with her schizophrenic mindtrip. It’s pissing me off, quite frankly.

      • Mary says:

Klein has said Hillary has the memos, but doesn’t want to release them until after the election (probably Senate Intel hearing).

        • britgirls says:

          😦 That is just awful.

        • Constance says:

Then she is willing to take the chance of subjecting us to 4 more years of Obama or having to go through another President resigning. That is unforgivable, she should at least leak the info.

    • yttik says:

I don’t know if it’s accurate or not but it makes a lot of sense. Hillary has always been about serving the common good which she has always seemed to believe is the Dem party. She might think she’s doing what’s best for the country, but what’s best for the country always translates into what’s best for the Dem party. That’s what I used to believe as a Dem anyway, and that seems to be how Hillary thinks, too. Her split personality behavior makes a lot more sense after I read that article. She wants the truth to be known but she also wants the President to be re-elected.

I am so glad I left the D party! Let freedom ring!! In my state I had to wrestle with the issue of sex abusing politicians who we were supposed to support anyway because of course R’s are worse and at least he belongs to a party that “cares” about women. So for the common good you’re supposed to ignore your lying eyes and be a good Dem soldier and campaign for the flippin pervert.

OMG, I can’t believe I was ever that stupid.

      • Erica says:

I just can’t see how, in any universe, that Barack Obama is a better alternative than Mitt Romney. How can Hillary really believe that? If he went around her on this, if he watched this and did not order our planes and operatives to respond, he should not spend 5 more minutes as president.

  16. gxm17 says:

The Benghazi story has reeked to high heavens since it first broke. IMO, the reason the MSM doesn’t want to report the real story is because they were party to the cover-up: they neglected their duty and simply regurgitated the disinformation the WH gave them. Come on, folks, what person with 1) a brain and 2) a smidgen of skepticism would believe that “protesters” came to a protest with RPGs? That should have set any thinking reporter’s hinky meter into overdrive. Instead we get weeks of BS topped with Crowley’s completely unprofessional and bogus fact-checking during the second debate.

I have no idea what the WH is hiding but clearly it’s something big. The Fourth Estate needs to get its head out of its ass and start unearthing the truth.

    • yttik says:

The press is supposed to be our unofficial 4th branch of government that keeps everybody else in check. Since Obama came into office it’s like there’s nothing but this giant incompetent all powerful executive branch. The legislature is dead locked and darn near useless, the press is a bunch of suck ups, the SC is basically washing their hands of the whole mess.

  17. votermom says:

I gotta panic buy now. See ya all in a bit …

  18. DM says:

Knowing what I know now, I’m satisfied that Hillary had no way of supporting and acting to protect the CIA. I’m also satisfied that for very good reasons, it’s not her place to release information that’s top secret. That would be treasonous under the law. Heck, she couldn’t call what happened in Benghazi a terror attack until the Bozo-Obama did so. It’s not her place to do it, as I said in another comment. She had to wait until Obama called it a terror attack to call it a terror attack. It didn’t matter what she knew. She knows probably as much as the president, but that doesn’t give her the responsibility or the right to speak of such issues openly. And unfortunately, I think she had to go with the video story because we’re talking about undercover operations here. I’m holding her harmless in this whole affair. It’s part of her job to also protect undercover people and their operations, and be very careful of what she does and says.

It’s clear to me that the Benghazi building housed no diplomatic mission, not even a consul. My guess that the use of “consulate” was a cover name to house the CIA. This was an undercover operation center, not a true diplomatic mission. Without a consul, it’s hardly a “consulate”. Though I understand that diplomatic and undercover operations often mix, I don’t see that a mix of these two operations existed in Benghazi.

The other question in my mind is, why is the name Petraeus missing from all those leaks. He, as the head of the CIA should have been prominent in the decision making of helping his people, yet, his name is nowhere mentioned, not in cables or congressional hearings, press releases, etc. Where was he and what did he do during this mess? Was he in Benghazi? Did he get hurt? No one seems to have heard from him.

Whatever failures in this whole affair are owned by The One.

    • Constance says:

I am about fed up with Hillary. If she knows info that will clear this up she owes it to us. She works for The People not for the Democrat party and in this case the interests of The People and Democrat party are in conflict with each other.

      • DM says:

I don’t see it that way. She has a job to protect undercover operations and your being informed about such things will not help those operations. On top of that, she has a diplomatic job, and it’s not her job to inform the public about any of these matters. She would be stepping on the president’s role. Not only would that be inappropriate, It could be harmful to the country. I don’t even understand why you think she owes you to give that information.

I don’t understand why you consider Hillary to have the responsibilities of the president. Madeleine Albright or Colin Powell or Condoleezza Rice would never do what you are asking Hillary to do.

      • DM says:

Shouldn’t you be asking Petraeus for that information? Isn’t he the head of the CIA and therefore responsible to inform you what went wrong at a CIA unit in Benghazi? Just because it was called a “consulate”, it doesn’t mean it was. What was the name of the consul? Can you tell me? There was no consul and it was not a consulate.

        • catarina says:

          even more bullshit

        • Constance says:

Hillary’s duty is to The People not to the Democrat party, there are a lot of Dems in office who should be telling us all the truth, but for any of them to stand by allowing this lie to go down for the sake of Obama’s reelection is an act of treason against the country in my opinion. Unfortunately Obama seems to have put Hillary and many other Dems in the position of having to choose between their loyalty to country which they are supposed to be serving or loyalty to the Democrat party. For me the choice would be clear.

        • angienc says:

Putting Obama’s re-election ahead of the American people’s right to know isn’t something to brag about.

“Hillary’s duty is to The People not to the Democrat party”

How is Hillary serving “The People” by informing you what went wrong at a CIA unit? Her job is to inform congress, and they are satisfied. Beyond that, any information that you are due, must come from Obama. I don’t understand why your knickers are all twisted because Hillary didn’t give you a phone call to tell you about what went wring at a CIA unit and its operation. I don’t know in what world you live, but in the one I’ve lived, undercover operations that go awry are not openly disclosed to the public. They are kept secret for decades.

I think what Hillary is doing right now sucks, but I can’t fault her for following protocol. She can’t over ride the President’s statements, she couldn’t authorize military intervention, and she can’t do anything about Susan Rice distorting intelligence. All she can do is release emails, provide congress with witnesses, and conduct her own investigation.

Hillary is unable to speak for congress, the CIA, or the President. She could tell the American people that the President is a complete moron who shouldn’t be re-elected, but even that would be unethical. There’s protocol, process, a chain of command that has to be followed.

Congress is in charge of the investigation, Petraeus in is charge of the CIA, the President is in charge of what came out of his mouth, the American people are in charge of the election, and the press is in charge of telling us the story. These things don’t fall under Hillary’s jurisdiction.

        • Constance says:

I do not expect a personal call from Hillary. She can leak papers to The Powers That Be. She can answer “I don’t know, no one asked for my opinion or decisions” rather than push the administration lies forward. She could quit.

As far as secret operations staying secret, sure if they pull off their escapades then things probably stay secret. But this was obviously a FUBAR and expecting us citizens to stand by and play dumb or treating us like we are dumb is just not going to work.

        • DM says:

ytik, I agree with you 100%. I hate that Hillary has to follow protocol. But on the other hand, she knew that Obama was a loser and she knew the job was dangerous when she took it.

        • DM says:

“. She can leak papers to The Powers That Be.”

Are you not aware that she could end up in the slammer for leaking information? You think that in order to satisfy Constance’s need to know, Hillary should put her whole life in jeopardy by leaking material.

        • Constance says:

There are probably 10 different ways Hillary can end up in the slammer. And The Dems are more likely to dump this on any woman than a man. But at some point you just give up and do what is right. She was in the Senate for 8 years, she must know how to get information to the right people. I think she has had competent legal advice and it is significant that Rice not Hillary went out and gave the administration’s line of bull to The People. And stop implying I am the only person who is sick of the obvious cover up and wanting answers when that is probably the majority opinion.

My dear friends watched MSNBC a couple of hours a day while I was there so I need to go through detox. Apparently lady parts are the most important issues to them. They are both very concerned that the evil Repubs are going to get Roe overturned and then try to get birth control banned. They said nothing about Benghazi or issues other than education. The husband is retired from the Department of Education in DC and the wife is a retired Fairfax Co. VA teacher.

Coming back through central and western VA, WV and Ky I saw lots of Romney Ryan signs and very few Obama signs. Looks different from 2008. Smaller cities and rural areas look much more enthused for the 2012 Republican Presidential candidate than they did in 2008 if the yard signs are an accurate indication.
