CIA operators were denied request for help during Benghazi attack
Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later was denied by U.S. officials — who also told the CIA operators twice to “stand down” rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.
Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to “stand down.”Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The rescue team from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.
At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Spectre gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

it has been on conservative talk radio all day, and it reaches a lot of people, so it is getting out there even if nbc et al. are burying the story. it is going to get so big, that the other stations won’t be able to ignore it anymore. Questions from the people of the united states will eventually get their media to speak about it, or they will seem as they are behind the times. in the end the media still wants to get the scoop above all, so they don’t want to be too far behind. they will start to talk about it, it is just a matter of time. if not then they are negligent and fox’s rating will jump even more.
the thing about the new news that is interesting is that these two guys at the annex disobeyed direct orders to go save the people at the consulate, those guys are heroes! and then once they saved the folks they could, they were under attack again and they were asking for backup, but they were ignored! these guys died by pure negligence in the chain of command. they were americans who died for political reasons and incompetence. i will say again, these cia guys were heroes! and they were the real deal with real american principles that they lived by and ended up dieing by 😦
i did think that the mantra was “leave no man behind” and these guys lived by that. i am so glad they cared enough about america (because it was american soil) that they disobeyed orders to save other americans. and in the end, they disobeyed orders because they believed their principles, their mantra of never leaving anyone behind was a stronger principle. whoever said “stand down” over and over again is an ahole who deserves to go to prison for the rest of their lives!

Conspiracies are caused by not having all the facts, Kevin’s tin foil sounds about as good as anything that’s come out of the WH (aka the video SQUIRREL !). Obama should not have gone to Las Vegas and held a press conference a couple of days later with all the information to his knowledge at that point. I started to think something was fishy, thanks to an Obot who claimed that the attack on our ambassador was a secret plot by the CIA to make President Obama look bad. I don’t know if this is accurate or not, but it reflects what I’ve been thinking about the whole thing, that Hillary was over ruled by Susan Rice and President Obama, that her jurisdiction over the State Dept was violated, and that she didn’t find out about it until after the attack.

She’s almost been acting like a split personality, one one hand covering up for the President, on the other hand releasing emails and witnesses that shed more light on the situation. There was something in her tone when she said, nobody wants to get to the bottom of this more than me. She didn’t say the President wants the truth or the families or the American people, she said herself, which makes me think she believes somebody went behind her back and over ruled her.
I think it really sucks if she’s such a party loyalist that she feels she has to not expose Obama, but that makes a certain amount of sense too.
I was just coming to share this. Keep in mind this is Ed Klein, who may or may not be a credible source. He’s been “leaking” info from inside the Clinton camp for months, but so far none of it is backed up for sure. But if this is true, and if a smoking gun can be found, it’s deadly to Obama. He’s going to lose anyway, so there’s no telling the real effect it will have until November 6th, but it will be a load of additional weight on his sinking ship. I hope some documents are released, and I hope Hillary stops with her schizophrenic mindtrip. It’s pissing me off, quite frankly.

IMO, the reason the MSM doesn’t want to report the real story is because they were party to the cover-up: they neglected their duty and simply regurgitated the disinformation the WH gave them. Knowing what I know now, I’m satisfied that Hillary had no way of supporting and acting to protect the CIA. I’m also satisfied that for very good reasons, it’s not her place to release information that’s top secret. That would be treasonous under the law. Heck, she couldn’t call what happened in Benghazi a terror attack until the Bozo-Obama did so. It’s not her place to do it, as I said in another comment. She had to wait until Obama called it a terror attack to call it a terror attack. It didn’t matter what she knew. She knows probably as much as the president, but that doesn’t give her the responsibility or the right to speak of such issues openly. And unfortunately, I think she had to go with the video story because we’re talking about undercover operations here. I’m holding her harmless in this whole affair. It’s part of her job to also protect undercover people and their operations, and be very careful of what she does and says.
It’s clear to me that the Benghazi building housed no diplomatic mission, not even a consul. My guess that the use of “consulate” was a cover name to house the CIA. This was an undercover operation center, not a true diplomatic mission. Without a consul, it’s hardly a “consulate”. Though I understand that diplomatic and undercover operations often mix, I don’t see that a mix of these two operations existed in Benghazi.
The other question in my mind is, why is the name Petraeus missing from all those leaks. He, as the head of the CIA should have been prominent in the decision making of helping his people, yet, his name is nowhere mentioned, not in cables or congressional hearings, press releases, etc. Where was he and what did he do during this mess? Was he in Benghazi? Did he get hurt? No one seems to have heard from him.
Whatever failures in this whole affair are owned by The One.
I am about fed up with Hillary. If she knows info that will clear this up she owes it to us. She works for The People not for the Democrat party and in this case the interests of The People and Democrat party are in conflict with each other.

I think what Hillary is doing right now sucks, but I can’t fault her for following protocol. She can’t over ride the President’s statements, she couldn’t authorize military intervention, and she can’t do anything about Susan Rice distorting intelligence. All she can do is release emails, provide congress with witnesses, and conduct her own investigation.
Hillary is unable to speak for congress, the CIA, or the President. She could tell the American people that the President is a complete moron who shouldn’t be re-elected, but even that would be unethical. There’s protocol, process, a chain of command that has to be followed.
Congress is in charge of the investigation, Petraeus in is charge of the CIA, the President is in charge of what came out of his mouth, the American people are in charge of the election, and the press is in charge of telling us the story. These things don’t fall under Hillary’s jurisdiction.
I do not expect a personal call from Hillary. She can leak papers to The Powers That Be. She can answer “I don’t know, no one asked for my opinion or decisions” rather than push the administration lies forward. She could quit.
As far as secret operations staying secret, sure if they pull off their escapades then things probably stay secret. But this was obviously a FUBAR and expecting us citizens to stand by and play dumb or treating us like we are dumb is just not going to work.

There are probably 10 different ways Hillary can end up in the slammer. And The Dems are more likely to dump this on any woman than a man. But at some point you just give up and do what is right. She was in the Senate for 8 years, she must know how to get information to the right people. I think she has had competent legal advice and it is significant that Rice not Hillary went out and gave the administration’s line of bull to The People. I arrived in Ohio on Thursday after being out in the boondocks on a farm in Culpepper, VA surrounded by horses and cows for the past week and a half. There was no internet or mobile phone service. Great to be back at the crawdad hole and catch up on what’s been happening
My dear friends watched MSNBC a couple of hours a day while I was there so I need to go through detox. Apparently lady parts are the most important issues to them. They are both very concerned that the evil Repubs are going to get Roe overturned and then try to get birth control banned. They said nothing about Benghazi or issues other than education. The husband is retired from the Department of Education in DC and the wife is a retired Fairfax Co. VA teacher.
Coming back through central and western VA, WV and Ky I saw lots of Romney Ryan signs and very few Obama signs. Looks different from 2008. Smaller cities and rural areas look much more enthused for the 2012 Republican Presidential candidate than they did in 2008 if the yard signs are an accurate indication.
