I’m dressed up as FLOTUS, and I’m giving the kids broccoli this year.

What are you doing tonight?

Does anyone follow the honest toddler on twitter? He’s cracking me up tonight:

    Honest Toddler‏@HonestToddler

Someone gave me an apple. I’m not here for groceries. Cried a little bit.

    Honest Toddler‏@HonestToddler

Apples. smh. What’s next? Lunch meat? Table salt?

    Honest Toddler‏@HonestToddler

Stickers. Did I just get a vaccine? Are you the dentist? You had months to prepare for this night.

    He/she also reviews books:

I tagged along with my 11yo kid & her best friend trick or treating (as the parental bodyguard). So they’re walking ahead and I hear “Romney!” “Obama!”
So I asked – “what are you guys talking about?”
“Oh nothing, just having a political discussion, mom!”

    Scary! 😆

  6. DeniseVB says:

Just finished up “sharing my wealth” with the little trick or treaters and have way too much candy left over. Darn 😉

  7. Mary says:

I love the early, little ones! But I think this year when it’s the later pillow case pre-teens, I’ll just dump whatever’s left in the first pillow case and turn off the porch light. (caught a coupla 10 year old boys trying to swap bags and reappear on my porch for a second round…jeez, don’t they know I already raised a boy and know all the tricks? LOL).

    • angienc says:

My dad & his brothers used to do that — once around dressed as “cowboys” (jeans, hats, guns); come home, empty candy on bed, throw on sheets with eyes cut out & once around as ghosts, repeat (pirate, hobo, etc) until people started catching on.

They found Vera Baker ? /snort

Ace says he hears it is about a Dem Senator, not Romney/Ryan or Obama/Biden.
      So, there ya go.

    • angienc says:

      Update:
Drudge updated that it does involve a Senator & so Ace posted what he’s “hearing” (emphasis on “hearing” he doesn’t vouch for it):

As Drudge is now saying it’s a Senator, I feel that my rumors might be more than rumors.

Here’s what I’m hearing. And bear in mind, I’m merely hearing it.

The story involves a Senator flying down to a big donor’s place in the Caribbean for orgies. Hookers are involved.

The One Big Snag in the story is that the story comes from hookers — a couple of them, I hear — and their credibility is, well. They’re hookers. It’s not Gold Standard.

    • NewOrleans says:

TheOtherMcCain is hearing it’s NJ Sen. Bob Menendez and may involve underaged Dominican hookers.

It would be nice to have something else besides Romneybama to talk about for the next week.

Why Obama will lose in 2012

SENATOR HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON: It’s a long road to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and it runs right through the heart of Pennsylvania.

That made me sad for what we could have had.
      Hillary is so DAMN competent.
She would have taken America to new heights.

No one can convince me otherwise.

  10. myiq2xu says:

No trick-or-treaters so far. Maybe I got carried away with the decor?

  11. insanelysane says:

Rain was forecast for this evening so I picked all my ripe, end-of-season tomatoes and the last of the basil and am making Tomato Bisque with bacon bits. Got a loaf of sour dough and a bottle of Pinot. Light the wood burner, watch a scary movie.

We live in the sticks and we have never had a trick or treater in 40 years. Too scary with big dogs too. LOL perfect.

    • elliesmom says:

We had our usual 100 kids or so. Ellie just isn’t scary. Big, but she looks too much like a big teddy bear. lol

      • taw46 says:

That’s wonderful to have so many kids out on Halloween. Haven’t had any kids come through our neighborhood in about 3 yrs now. Miss seeing them, they look so cute in their costumes.

  12. DM says:

The Giants parade was amazing. I’ve never seen another parade that was more joyous. The Romans couldn’t have had a better welcome for their warriors than the fans gave the Giants.

Now I understand why the obots went into a frenzy with their fake hero. Obama had slain the target of their hate, the two Clinton dragons.

  13. lyn5 says:

I’m waiting for the little buggers out West. I’m a hermit, and Halloween creeps me out! I have gummy bears, Snickers and Whoppers. My joy is giving the kids who are by themselves a lot of candy.

    • DM says:

I buy small amounts of candy every year, and I’m never able to get rid of it. Few kids ring my doorbell. They must know I have a few skeletons in my closet 🙂

      • lyn5 says:

LOL. The number varies for me. Last year we had 50; the year before, 13. It is rainy and cold (45) tonight.

  14. mcnorman says:

I locked my gate and made a sign for the kiddies to go next door to the church carnival. 🙂

  15. myiq2xu says:

    • mcnorman says:

Ahh, is that what Barack got in his trick or treat bag?

    • gram cracker says:

Newly disclosed classified August cable about deteriorating security conditions in Benghazi discussed on Greta. Looks like Barack and Hillary did a Bush and Rice. All of them ignored pretty specific warnings.

Of all people Ambassador Stevens should have known that he needed to be in a secure location on the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. What was he thinking?

  16. 49erDweet says:

My more-beautiful-than-yours 2 yo granddaughter just worked her way back here after harvesting the neighborhood. What a haul! Now she shared a dupli-Twix with her favorite adult. She’s a keeper.
What I like is families from less fortunate sections of town cart their kids in and give them a taste of a more successful way of life. They are so awed and gracious. And it gives them an example “others” aren’t evil. Good times. Except that durn Weather Channel keeps showing the East Coast tragedy. Grim. Time to hug my gd.

The American Mustache Institute is not at all pleased with Axelrod. They’re not the fatwa issuing type, so no worries.

  18. myiq2xu says:

The best time to hit my house on Halloween is about now. Early on I only give kids 1-2 pieces of candy so I don’t run out. As it gets later I start giving each kid more candy. Towards the end I’m giving out handfuls.

When (if) I run out I just turn out the lights and stop answering the door. Either way I shut it down at 9pm – that’s plenty late for kids to be out.

    • myiq2xu says:

Okay, that last bunch were all teenagers. I think a couple of them were old enough to shave. I’m giving it 5 more minutes then closing up shop.
