A Spoof, But Just Barely

The above ad is a spoof. I’m not sure who made it but it wasn’t the Brady Campaign. But like all good satire it almost seems real.

That’s the thing about fanatical true believers – they are capable of making arguments like the one in the ad. In fact, I’m willing to bet that some of the gun-grabbers would agree with the ad, even if they recognize it would not be effective.

Whoever did make the ad has a sick sense of humor. At the same time they managed to make a spoof that was both false and true at the same time.

I don’t know about you but if someone broke into my home the second thing I would reach for would be the phone. The first thing would be a weapon. There is an old saying:

“It’s better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.”

I find their original ad offensive. I don’t know who did the spoof, but they captured the essence of the Brady campaign argument with it.

Once again I’m not a gun enthusiast, but gun bans and more gun control laws will only impact law abiding citizens NOT criminals.

I see Senator Feinstein didn’t enter her legislation yesterday, but I’m sure she will. As much as the progs accused the R’s of dancing on the graves of the fallen in Benghazi……they need only look in the mirror to see who truly dances on graves for their own purposes.

Sometimes being a history major spoils movies. I was watching Robin Hood and they were talking about planting corn in the late 12th Century. Corn came from the New World and didn’t reach England until 300 years later.

Being a history major didn’t spoil the movie , the idiots who made the movie spoiled it by not doing their homework . If ,women’s hair styles in a period movie are too modern it spoils the whole movie .for me , I can’t get past it . They might as well pull out a cell phone and make a call . Among other things .

    • Falstaff says:

The word “corn” is of Saxon origin, as I recall. It means “small grain”. What Americans call “corn” is known as “maize” in the UK.

Being a scientist spoils most “procedural” crime dramas that include forensics. TV is all sci-fy and his-fi.

    • John Denney says:

Being a good Iowa boy, I noted this in the King James Bible:

” And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good. ” – Genesis 41:5

How could that be? Corn was unknown in England at the time of that translation.

Turns out one of the dictionary definitions of “corn” is “grain”.

I like the spoofy ad. Let’s see, if a woman is being assaulted and only had time to reach for a) her cell phone b) her gun ? No brainer.

Reminds me of this yard sign I like:

I learn more from the UK news than our own. We all knew this was going to happen. Even the po’ people are going to pay more for goods and services to help the rich folks keep their shareholders happy.

Obama’s an idiot, but not as much as the people who support him, and they are our problem right now.

      • John Denney says:

And they continue to call for more rules and regulations on business such that an average person can no longer run a business because of the complexity, thus placing all businesses in the hands of the 1-percenters, the geniuses capable of coping with the regulatory maze.

I thought the Brady ad was real for a good couple of seconds.

My 24 year old niece in FL just told me that her hours have been cut so her employer can get around the Obamacare requirements.

Yesterday when she and others complained that their first check of 2013 had more tax withheld, her manager told her Obama had to do that to make up for the Bush Stimulus and it’s not his fault.

    • votermom says:

ait, her boss said it’s not Obama’s fault?

    • yttik says:

I’ve been working three part time jobs for over a year now, because of the Obamacare requirements. And yes it is Obama’s fault. All the employers around here, (including the Obama supporters) are only hiring part time and temp workers so they can avoid the new requirements. Those companies with less than 50 employees are not increasing their employment because they wish to remain under the Obamacare mandates.

    • swanspirit says:

      Does she believe him?

      • catarina says:

        No she knows he’s FOS.
She calls him her “Obot Boss.”
But WTF, it sounded like something right out of a Stephanie Cutter email.
        These people are fucking zombies!

    • foxyladi14 says:

      That boss is drunk on the kookaid. :shock;

    • HELENK says:

I just saw that and my first thought was backtrack really is the KIss of Death for companies, isn’t he.

      • It’s difficult to feel sorry for so-called “businesspersons” unabashedly drinking O’s kool-ade. They aren’t “business” minded at all, they’re simply “schemers”, and deserve exactly what they get —–nothing.
