Golden Globes: They’re Still Talking About Sarah Palin

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler did a short Palin skit tonight as they talked about the Golden Globe nominations for “Game Change.” Fey said, “I bet if the Governor were here she would say ‘You betcha!'”

Is there anything sadder than two aging hipsters trying desperately to cling to relevancy?

But wait! There’s more:

If there was a major award to be won for her role as Sarah Palin in the HBO movie “Game Change” — about Palin’s role in the 2008 presidential election — Julianne Moore has now officially won them all.

Moore won the Best Actress Golden Globe for Best Performance in a Miniseries or Television Film Sunday night, adding to a round-up of statues that includes the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie Emmy, and Best Movie/Miniseries Actress honors at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards, as well as a Best Miniseries or Television Film Golden Globe and Outstanding Miniseries or Movie Emmy for the film.

“This was one of my favorite jobs ever,” Moore said in her acceptance speech. “And I’d like to give a shout out to two people who I think made a significant difference in the 2008 election, Tina Fey and Katie Couric.”

In fact, “Game Change” — which debuted on HBO on March 10, 2012 — has been one of the biggest awards show success stories of the last year, winning a total of five Emmys and three Golden Globes for a movie that was based on a book of the same name by political journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann.

Funny, but I don’t see a People’s Choice Award on that list. As a matter of fact I don’t recall seeing the DVD for sale or rent anywhere. That’s probably because it didn’t do well in the Neilsen ratings. In other words, unlike Sarah Palin’s Alaska on NatGeo the movie was a commercial flop.

Sarah Palin ran for vice president in 2008. In 2009 she resigned. It’s now 2013.

Some people need to get a grip and get over themselves. Hollywood and the Lamestream Media are seriously out of touch with the rest of us.

But, but, but, the Golden Globe is a serious award whereas the People’s Choice is just a silly thing! LOL. I noticed that the only “starz” who bothered to show up for the People’s Choice Awards were the winners, not all nominees. It’s as if the only way to get them to appear was to bribe them with a glass trophy. These people are disgusting, every single one of them.

They have to keep the lies coming because she’s young enough to rise again.

  4. I couldn’t even watch these awards having to look at Fey. She ruined herself with me when she took all of her cheap shots at Palin. Blech. Can’t wait til she’s a has been…..

Good Lord, Game Change is such OLD news. Can’t believe they’re still feeding on it, but I guess as one-percenters, they have no clue what normal Americans are concerned about.

But what else can they talk about, surely they can’t dissed the unprecedented hystorical half and half p-resident. They identify so strongly with him as they all share that ability to read from teleprompters, words written by others.

The best thing is to not watch any of them at all….then they are nobody and have no relevance at all…or, I guess, they are just a somebody…just like you and me. The adulation of Hollywood types is something I have never been able to grasp….I love a good movie, a good story and great acting but the adulation part I don’t get. I find it particularly hard to understand how someone can gain fame by making fun of someone else.

Oh blahblahblah Boehner, you should have hit Obama upside the head with this:

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure.” Senator Barack Obama, March 16, 2006

……then finish up with “you sir, are a failure”.

Oh rats, someone responded to me on the NYT FB page:

David Witz…. And he was correct, because he was objecting to Bush running two wars and other expenses off the books. When elected, Obama put all of Bush’s hidden expenses back on the books, and that’s the bulk of the debt we’re dealing with today.

        Still Bush’s fault in 2013 ?

All the women of Hollywood are like a bunch of highly trained dogs. They have no original thoughts and they jump and do what ever trick it takes to get a pat on the head from the men who run media. Most of the crap on TV has very few viewers and if consumers ever break the bundling stranglehold corporate media have most of the crap they make won’t sell. There is no way Hollywood or media reflects American culture.

Yep. A lot of employers are taking the opportunity to get rid of people for all kinds of reasons. Some are bad employees, some are extra people who aren’t needed because business is slow, and any other reason they can come up with to cut. These schools are state employers and the state and locals are going to use this “excuse” also. Since so many are doing it the targets for criticism and ridicule (shaming) by the progs will become more diffused. BroncoBamaCare has the unintended consequence of downsizing the national workforce.

I’ve been listening to NPR at work and they are all over the Golden Globes. In their minds, and this is the male hosts talking, it was some sort of celebration of women. All the men hold “girls” in high regard so I guess it is one of those “women’s shows” that men watch.
