BREAKING NEWS! – Sarah Palin Got Paid!

You Betcha!

You Betcha!

From Eric Ostermeier at Smart Politics:

The Price of Palin: $15 per Word Spoken During FOX Contract

Sarah Palin uttered more than 189,000 words over 150 appearances on various FOX broadcasts during her three years as an analyst at the network, or $15.85 per word

With the three-year contract now expired between FOX News and Sarah Palin, there is a wealth of commentary made by the former Alaska Governor and GOP Vice-Presidential nominee to dissect.

Palin, who was paid a reported $1 million per year as a contributor to FOX since mid-January 2010 when FOX announced her signing, may not have made quite the splash her employers had hoped during this three-year period, and would, on occasion go weeks between appearances.

So, did the network get their money’s worth?

I dunno. What is the normal rate for on-air talent at FOX? The author doesn’t tell us. But I do know that Sarah was getting a pretty good rate for speechifying to various groups and organizations.

But wait! There’s more!

Here’s some hard-hitting investigative reporting:

And just what words were spoken among the 189,221 delivered by Palin during her three-year contract at FOX?

She only uttered her patented “you betcha” line twice as a FOX employee, and both during her first month as a paid analyst.

The first came on a January 28, 2010 appearance during On the Record and the other at the specific request of FOX News Sunday host Chris Wallace on February 7, 2010.

A slightly more common phrase Palin dropped was “Right on!” coming in at five mentions.

Palin discussed President Obama by name 786 times compared to just 41 mentions for her self-proclaimed favorite former president Ronald Reagan (as told to Gretchen Carlson) with 41 and Abraham Lincoln with three.

Religion was frequently peppered into Palin’s commentary and the former governor uttered “Amen” 111 times across her 151 appearances.

She also mentioned “God” 57 times, Christians and Christianity 16 times, Moses three times, and Jesus once.

This isn’t to say Palin didn’t occasionally dance with the devil – delivering the PG-13 “heck” 28 times, “darn” nine times, “hell” seven times, and “damn” twice.

Palin mentioned “Muslim” 13 times and “Islam” on six occasions.

Just when you think the Vile Progs can’t possibly get more insipid and inane, they go and prove you wrong. Whatever will they obsess over when she’s gone?

if only that had spend as much time investigating backtrack as they did Sarah even after she was no longer a candidate, the country would be much better off

  3. HELENK says:

when I read that article I was so disgusted. they are bitching about what Sarah gets paid and her words make sense. these fools are getting paid for wasting time

    this is just nuts.
military training op. Blawkhawk helos buzz Miami skyline and shoot blanks. can imagine just how the residents felt?

    • Somebody says:

Holy crap, if I lived in Miami this would have freaked me out. I live in a military area, they conduct training exercises all the time but those exercises don’t include shooting blanks over the heads of residents. I’ve never heard of such a thing. The military does have areas in this country where they do such drills, but those are ranges paid for with tax dollars in somewhat rural areas. In fact they use live ammo sometimes at those ranges. Shooting machine guns blanks or not through a downtown urban area is just creepy.

    • leslie(D) says:

Did Bronco lose the vote in Miami?

    • DandyTiger says:

Pffft, if you don’t like the military, don’t come to Virginia. They’re everywh…wait, who’s that at my door…

    • Whew! For awhile there didn’t think that “shooting blanks” fabrication was gonna fly, but after four hours it still seems to be holding, so that’s all good.

Oh my, this is beyond obsessive, it’s borderline psychotic creepy stalking. Who spends that much time looking for needles in haystacks? Ick.

      What Obamacare did for me

I thought it would be great, free health insurance, then I got a job. Boss says 28 hours a week is all they are offering now because over 30 requires insurance. Great, 30% pay cut right off the bat. But it gets better. My 28 hour week gives me about $18,000 a year which is too much for any government insurance. So now by law I have to buy my own ($5000) or pay a fine. I’m f**ked and every year the fine goes up. So what I thought was a sweet deal turned into an a** f**king. Thanks Obama, I wonder how many people like me turn 27 and find out you screwed us?

      • yttik says:

“….I wonder how many people turn 27 and find out you screwed us?”

I guess that’s why I knew Obamacare was going to screw everybody. I must be 27 now.

  7. fif says:

Oh, they’ll find someone else to hate. It’s all projection & Obama will serve up bogeyman aplenty for them to froth at the mouth.

backtrack bunch repositioning homeland security ammunition containers

lets see take guns and ammo from citizens.
government has guns and ammo to control citizens

paranoia does not always mean you are wrong

any woman who lives in the ME or is going to travel there needs Lorena Bobbit lessons and a ginsue circumcision knife

  10. DeniseVB says:

My husband gets emails from his old Vietnam groups who keep an eye on the slashing of veterans benefits under Obama. And I’m well aware of the military groaning under any President, it’s their job 😉

One such message was no more hot breakfasts for the troops in war zones. Think about that next time you read another Obama White House Menu or date night restaurant outing.

  11. HELENK says:

the obots are still terrified of Sarah. They brought Hilary under control but doubt very much if they can do the same to Sarah. Hillary wanted something from the party. Sarah wants something for all Americans.
Is she a saint? NO. But she loves the country and the people and that is something the obots will never understand and control.

    • DeniseVB says:

Whoa, great observation “they brought Hillary under control” indeed. I wanted her to stay in the Senate in 2008 and become the New Lion as Teddy was to Carter. (see 1980 Dem primary). Why she took SOS I’ll never understand, but 2016 is so OUT for me. I mourn the loss of my old party 😦

    • LOL I am not even sure what that means. I got an iphone from my son for Christmas. What is this locking? How could you even use your phone if it was locked?
Alas, technology. I can’t keep up.
Am I a criminal and don’t know it?

      • HELENK says:

I do not have a cell phone. So if I go to jail it will not be for that

      • Somebody says:

The purpose is to allow you to use any carrier and not be locked into a contract.

      • foxyladi14 says:

        LOL I

      • DeniseVB says:

It’s why we stick with our $10 flip phones. Nobody’s looking for criminals at the $40/month level 😉

      • Was that from the Onion? If not, it’s similar to “gun control” and “prohibition” attempts. A third of the cellphones out there are probably already “unlocked”. The first year there will be will be 16 gazillion deliberate violations of that law, IMO. Ain’t gonna stand no matter WHO wants it. Too many lawyers out there to let that one pass without making a name for themselves taking it down. When my current contract runs out I’m one of the millions doing it. “Tough” if Verizon objects. Might not need a law like this and be able to lower their rates if they weren’t donating so much $$$ to progs’ campaigns, maybe?.

  12. yttik says:

15.85 per word? I’d say they got a bargain. Much of what Sarah has said is priceless and just keeps on going so you really get your money’s worth.

  13. leslie(D) says:

And they told us she was irrelevant. Can you ikmagine what they’d have been obsessing about if she had been important?

  15. Dinner. Not feeling so hot- SOOO
Took a bag of my turkey stock out of the fridge. Sauteed some onions and garlic, dumped in the stock, some corn and lima beans, a jar of my home canned tomatoes and some carrots. A little oregano (great natural antibacterial- same with the garlic and onions) A handful of barley.
Plenty for everyone. I might dump some lentils in the leftovers tomorrow.

    • DeniseVB says:

I used to be such a fan of Joe, a conservative voice on the MSNBC sludge line up. I rooted for him to take over the Imus slot after the “nappy” incident. (yes, there were several months of try outs with worse) …. sigh.

It is starting. clinton backers launch ready for hillary super pac.

not this time for me. This was a lady like many democrats that I wanted to be president. I made the phone calls and contributed to her campaign. I even could understand when she went to work for backtrack. I did not like it, but could understand it. The lying and the cover up of Benghazi was the last straw for me. It does make a difference
