Dr. Kermit Gosnell

Dr. Kermit Gosnell

From Elite Panic and Kermit Gosnell by Ace of Spades:

People who do evil generally don’t imagine they’re doing evil. In fact, some of the worst evils are perpetrated by those who’ve convinced themselves they’re doing good. One’s conscience tends to restrain one from evil; but if one can trick one’s conscience into thinking one’s doing good by doing evil, well. Then you’ve really got something.

I imagine the media believes it’s “doing good” by being so cautious about What Truths the Public Is Capable of Hearing. After all, if this Gosnell trial were publicized, people would Get Angry, and come to All the Wrong Conclusions, and put the allies of those in the media (such as NARAL and Planned Parenthood) on the defensive.

Hell, these maniacs might even get in into their skulls to hurt people!

Well, we can’t have that. We can’t let the Wrong Kind of Information — true information, but the sort of information the non-enlightened may be confused about — passing into the Wrong Kinds of Brains.

Thus, this embargo on the Gosnell story is not just partisan bias, fronting for the Democrats by refusing to mention anything that might be used as a wedge issue against them.

No, this embargo is done for the Public Good, even if the public is too stupid to understand that. If the public heard about these things… Well, that’s not gonna happen. Not on our watch.

It’s been occurring to me lately that much media behavior is explainable by this prism. They don’t want to report certain facts, not because the facts aren’t true (they’re facts by definition), but because they’re Concerned About The Capacity of Non-Journalists to Successfully Interpret These Facts.

And they justify this to themselves by conceiving themselves as Angels guarding the outer doors of Hell itself, with millions of slavering monsters just beyond the gate.

By deliberately misleading the public, you see, they’re protecting the world.

From us.

If you have been following the story of Dr. Kermit Gosnell you should be horrified and outraged. He is an abortion doctor that is on trial for murdering aborted babies that were born alive. Witnesses have testified to watching him use scissors to snip the spinal cords of live infants.

A woman who worked at a Philadelphia abortion clinic has testified how she was told snipping babies’ spines after they were born was ‘standard procedure’ to bring about ‘fetal demise’.

Lynda Williams, 44, said her former boss Dr. Kermit Gosnell taught her how to turn a baby over and cut its neck with a pair of scissors – but she only did it once because it gave her ‘the creeps’.

As she testified in the murder trial against Gosnell, she added that patients were often given pain medication that did not work during procedures, and that he would slap their legs if they squirmed.

Gosnell, 72, is charged with murdering seven babies at Philadelphia Women’s Medical Society and with the death of a woman, who suffered cardiac arrest after she was given too much anesthesia.

He performed illegal, late-term abortions and when the babies were born alive, he would sever their spinal cords to kill them, prosecutors have claimed over the four-week trial.

If you have never heard of Dr. Kermit Gosnell that is no surprise. The U.S. media has essentially embargoed the story. That should horrify and outrage you even more.

  2. HELENK says:

as a woman who has had four kids and had 3 miscarriages I feel this man is just sickening and has no redeeming value. I am very glad I am not on the jury as there is no way I could be objective.

    • 49erDweet (D) says:

The Margaret Sangerites if this world don’t want any event described at this trial to be thought to have occurred in any other “clinic” (to be polite) in any other city, anywhere. Did not happen. Could not happen. It’s incredibly different when we do it.

    • myiq2xu says:

No surprisingly, there is very little video of the case at YooToob.

    • myiq2xu says:

Attorneys sparred today over whether the child whose neck Lynda Williams said she “snipped” at Kermit Gosnell’s abortion clinic was alive or dead at the time.

Gosnell’s defense attorney John McMahon also brought out on cross examination that the 44-year-old Williams, of Wilmington, never saw movement, breathing or any other signs of life in the 30 or so other fetuses that she said she saw Gosnell cut the spinal cords of to ensure “fetal demise.”

But Williams ultimately stuck to her testimony that she saw independent movement in a child that she said she cut the neck of on Gosnell’s orders and that what was going on at Gosnell’s clinic was wrong.

The defense attorney is kissing off the jury and setting up the appeal. If the prosecution fails to prove that the babies were legally alive then there could be no murder verdict.

Why Is The Kermit Gosnell Abortion Trial Being Largely Ignored By Major News Networks?

    […]

The media watchdog site NewsBusters.org has been covering this lack of attention in some depth, and it reported Tuesday that over the past week, ABC, CBS and NBC had not spent a second covering the ongoing Gosnell trial; by comparison, the major three networks dedicated a total of 41 minutes and 26 seconds of airtime to 36 stories on the scandal surrounding disgraced Rutgers basketball coach Mike Rice.

The decision by major news networks to effectively “black out” the Gosnell abortion trial led a coalition of 20 conservative leaders to join with Media Research Center founder and NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell last week to demand that “the broadcast networks stop censoring coverage of the trial of Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell and the testimony of the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates in favor of murdering children who survive botched abortions.”

The call by the conservative leaders for the networks to stop ignoring the story went on to point out that as of Tuesday, ABC, CBS and NBC had not mentioned Gosnell since he was arrested in January 2011, that even the arrest was only covered by CBS, whereas all three networks have covered new abortion-restricting laws in North Dakota and Arkansas.

“The horrific excesses of the abortion industry — exemplified by Gosnell and Planned Parenthood — are major, national news stories any way you look at them,” their letter states. “But the pro-abortion liberal media are determined to hide them from the public. The media have a solemn duty to the American people to report the news, not just news that helps the positions they support. It’s unprofessional, it’s disgusting, and it’s inhuman. If the pro-life movement were involved in this type of insanity, there would be wall-to-wall coverage from every major news outlet. This cover-up is a national disgrace.”

The question of why ABC, CBS and NBC have apparently deemed the Gosnell trial unworthy of news coverage is one that has as gone unanswered. But calls for the networks to explain themselves are increasing as the trial continues.

  5. yttik22 says:

That’s the problem, politically everything has become black and white, (no racism intended.) Abortion is good therefore any negativity about it shall not be discussed. There are no gray areas anymore. Heaven forbid you even consider mentioning the downside to President Obama, abortion, gay marriage, single parenthood, welfare, etc etc. These are all Good Things that shall not be challenged. So now are drone attacks, Guantanamo, and waiving due process. The media will not allow any deviation from the narrative.

    • myiq2xu says:

        • lildoggy4u says:

I want to add my 2 cents here as well. There’s been a problem all along just in the terminology. Why use the phrase “gay marriage” at all? Just call it marriage. Who is involved in the exchange of vows and their dedication to one another is beside the point. Its “marriage”, just between 2 people of the same sex. Maybe if we got out of the jargon , media induced hysteria people would relax about it. There have been gay couples around forever. Its a non-issue and shouldn’t be grouped together with all these other issues. Relax indigogrrl1, myiq2xu has always allowed all viewpoints and discussions here unlike other places.

I worked for a veterinarian for 10 years and I can’t tell you how many people brought their precious kittys and pooches in for an “abortion” because they were too stupid to spay their pet. Some even had planned to breed them at a later time, they just weren’t ready at that moment, especially that “precious” got knocked up by an alley cat or rogue mongrel.

Guess what? There is no such thing as clinical abortion on a female cat or dog. You have to rip out all their lady parts to end the pregnancy, and their reproductive life. If the client was faced with a difficult decision at that time, the doctor took an xray and showed them perfect little shadows of puppies or kittens. Those owners chose life! The ones who could care less, we “spayed” their pet. And it cost them triple what a routine spay would cost. Good.

So many low information voters are pet owners too. Like Gosnell’s “clients”, too stupid to use common sense and it made him a millionaire. Unfortunately, as a back alley butcher with a storefront.

Ickiness aside, he preyed on the stupids. Low income minorities, just the people that all our friends on the vile prog left claim to protect.

I’ve been following this story on the UK’s Daily Mail, graphic, disgusting details and vomit inducing photos. Too late for those babies, but the real story is the treatment of the mothers.

For those too young to remember pre-Roe v. Wade days, a must see movie is Love with the Proper Stranger. Gosnell is THAT doctor.

How about: “I outed them because what they did was wrong”?

how much media coverage of the Jody Arias trial is there and why is that trial more important then the killer doctor’s?

    • yttik22 says:

Good point! I think there is an entire cable channel that needs to be called the Jody Arias Trial Channel.

I really could care less about this trial, beyond the fact that I thought it was kind of interesting that he had been stabbed 29 times, had his throat slashed…..and than was shot in the head. Hey,maybe it really was self defense, I don’t know, but the way he was killed kind of blows the whole myth about women and “hesitation.”

I actually saw a report on FOX today where an idiot prog rationalized the media coverage (or lack thereof) on this v. the amount of media coverage given to murder trials such as Casey Anthony’s by saying “The Gosnell clinic is an anomaly.” WTF — the Casey Anthony case isn’t an anomaly too. Furthermore, isn’t that the exact fucking justification the media gives for their wall-to-wall coverage of such trials as Casey Anthony — that is is such an *anomaly* that it warrants the attention?

Logic — verboten in the New Dem Party.

    • myiq2xu says:

When you think about it this case is tailor-made for tons of television coverage. Lots of gore and lurid details, a rich defendant, dead babies. The only things missing are sex and dead white girls.

  20. yttik22 says:

This case is depressing enough, but really aggravates me is that long before charges were ever filed, several women complained about his abuse/torture. That and the fact that he didn’t even have a license to practice obstetrics/gynecology should have been enough to trigger an investigation, but no inspections ever happened. Later when he actually killed a woman, nothing happened either. The only thing that triggered this whole investigation was the fact that he was writing illegal prescriptions for painkillers.

Apparently it was no big deal that he was hurting women, that he wasn’t even qualified to perform these procedures in the first place. The legal system only got involved when they realized he might be harming Real People, AKA, not just women.

The media will ignore this story because it doesn’t fit the narrative, and those who do follow it will be horrified by what was done to the babies, but very few of us will admit that if we valued the lives of women more, this whole atrocity may have been avoided. When a 14 year old is drugged and beaten and forced to have an abortion against her will, that should be enough. When a 15 year old is drugged and given an abortion without her parent’s or her consent, that should have been enough. When a woman is tortured by being forced to go through the procedure without any anesthesia and she files a complaint, that should be enough. When a woman is killed, that should have been enough.

  21. 49erDweet says:

There’s a vast dichotomy between what clinics say they want to provide for women and what they are required by law to give. Almost every state exempts them from providing a basic medical environment meeting the treatment standards of a common medical clinic AND YET most of the same states require Pro-Life counseling centers to fully comply with strict medical provider standards even when no medical procedures are to be performed. It’s very even handed.

I’m a crime junkie and I have never been able to figure out why some cases capture the public’s attention and others don’t. Why did the Trayvon Martin case get so much attention while the Jordan Davis case gets not so much? I don’t know but I think it’s more than what the media “decides” to cover. Also, I think people would rather not read about the more gruesome cases. I regularly follow cases yet I couldn’t bring myself to follow the Christian/Newsom case (which I think is still ongoing with retrials). I also agree with yttik. This case is about the mistreatment of poor black women and, sadly, I suspect most people would rather ignore them.
