I can’t make heads or tails out of this current gun legislation they’re trying to pass? This is supposedly anti gun legislation, but in many ways, it looks like it’s actually loosening the rules? It looks like the 3 day waiting period actually gets reduced to 24 hours, among other things.

These days I don’t know whether to oppose or support legislation because they keep passing stuff nobody has read.

That’s because they are not really interested in safety. “Safety” is a smokescreen for what they really want to do – create the database that tells them everyone in the country who owns a gun. They could care less about waiting periods, etc. They want the names, for future use.

Today is a very dark day in my life. For the first time ever I received a “senior citizens’ discount”.

Joe McGinnis does seem to cause pain and be a person not to be trusted.

“[Charles] Beard always detested war. Hence his writings were slanted to show that the military side of history was insignificant or a mere reflection of economic forces. In his Rise of American Civilization (1927) he led a procession of historians who, caught in the disillusion that followed World War I, ignored wars, belittled wars, taught that no war was necessary and no war did any good, even to the victor. All these antiwar historians were sincere, and few of them were doctrinaire pacifists, as their actions in the last few years prove; nevertheless, their zeal against war did nothing to preserve peace. It only rendered the generation of youth which came to maturity around 1940 spiritually unprepared for the war they had to fight.”

New York town removes flag as ‘offensive’ Tea Party symbol

A veterans organization in a New York town is fighting for its right to fly a patriotic flag after the city council refused to let the group display the flag, calling it a symbol of the Tea Party with right-wing connotations.

The United Veterans Memorial & Patriotic Association replaced a tattered American flag at the New Rochelle Armory, flying the Gadsden flag underneath it. The bright yellow “Don’t Tread On Me” flag has been used by the Navy and Marine Corps since 1775.

When a city council member complained to the city manager that he found the flag offensive, the city manager initially decided to let the flag fly anyway. But the city council overruled him, and the flag was taken down. On Wednesday, the council voted 5 to 2 to keep the veterans from putting the flag back up.

The council objected to the flag because they said Peter Parente, the president of the veterans group, is a member of the Tea Party and the group wants to use the flag to make a political point.

Back in the day when I carried my blue ACLU card next to my concealed carry permit, the ACLU would have been on that town council like flies on shit. Now crickets.

“It looks like the 3 day waiting period ”
I didn’t know there was a Federal govt mandated waiting period. I bought my wife a new Glock 19 9mm for Christmas and I had to wait maybe 15 minutes for the background check to be completed before walking out the door.

The seige of the city of Caffa 1346….” the Mongol army hurled plague-infected cadavers into the besieged Crimean city of Caffa, thereby transmitting the disease to the inhabitants; ”

Caffa was an Italian trading post in the Crimea. The Italians bought the Plague back to Europe and and estimated 60% of the European population died of the “Black Death”.
